LOL... blizzard exploring console concepts for diablo eh. Doesn't surprise me. It was bound to happen eventually with blizzard getting greedy now and activision prodding them along with a cattle stick.
I just hope this doesn't slow down the development for diablo 3 for the pc.

I duno about this guys, bashiok really got my hopes up that this was supposed to be a big blizzcon for D3 saying it was the most D3 info packed blizzcon on the b.net forums to date. Then he goes and makes a statement on the forums saying pretty much the opposite.
What a failure. Damn I hate that guy I really do.
My expectations just fell. And why the hell is Sc2 getting what is it, 6 panels or something? What the hell? -

Hey guys we can ride our epic hippogryph mounts once we reach 60. Something to look forward too in diablo 3. We can fly them over rainbows and stuff. Can't wait for that!
That pretty much sums up the entire decision on them making the level cap 60. Jay Wilson and all the WoW fanbois strike once again into the hearts of diablo fans everywhere. When are true diablo fans going to say enough is enough? Only time will tell..
true fans are all honking their horns and firing their guns at the revelation of what further structure the game has. this dev team is something awesome in what they are bringing to the table. blizzard dont follow trends, they set them
theyre not the first to really take something and make it better. embrace the changes dude
Embrace the changes? You mean play world of warcraft... Sorry but I will pass on that, not because world of warcraft is a bad game but because I've already played too much of it and I don't really want to be reminded of it constantly in another game (diablo 3) that shouldn't have nearly all the similarities that it already has in regards to world of warcraft. I mean a level 60 cap? They could have made it 85. Why 60? Are they retarded or what? -

They should remove the name Diablo 3 and call this game world of warcraft but with a different view and slightly different graphics. BoE, lvl 60, skill trees looked the same, they wanted to make unique items epic and purple lol.
I mean when you take a hard look at what they have done so far its basically WoW but with no subscription and a different view with slightly altered graphics.
I'm still going to play this game. My only question is that why are they bothering make a new game if its going to be just like WoW anyway. I don't understand it.

Im glad its a lvl 60 cap, for a number of reasons, many of which Bashiok pointed out.
but i think a big reason for a lower level cap is room for more expansions. blizzard does love their dinero...
what diff does that make? Why can't the level cap be 99 and then the next expansion would push it to 130// ect..ect, why the hell does everything need to be centered around world of warcraft with this game? Imho I can't stand when I find new information about diablo 3 only to have it be completely the same as world of warcraft. It's driving me insane. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

IMHO the only different "game modes" from the regular game itself should be pvp modes.

I like the article on health globes. I wasn't too sure about them until I read it and that helped fortify my opinion of them somewhat. I'll take anything over potion spamming and I guess this is the only real viable-working solution to counter potion spam other than ridiculous cooldowns.
Did anyone else notice that bit about health skills from the article?
You might have a class skill that can help you regain health, but health-restoration skills are specialized, require careful play, and usually incur consequences.
Interesting to say the least. I'm basing an assumption off that, that... I really doubt life leech is going to be in the game now like it was in diablo 2 if they are adding health-restoration skills to the game. In fact I'd probably bet money on it. I doubt they would add a health-based skill in the game if you could just get an item that did it for you instead.

There will be plenty of gold sinks. There are still unmentionables I'm sure that they have not told us about. They reassured us all many times that gold would be valuable. It is needed for crafting and potentially buying crafting materials from other players in which gold may also still hold some value if they make an auction house system based on gold as well.
I wouldn't worry too much about it to be honest. The team working on this game is a lot smarter and way more creative and way more technical//better technology to work with than the team that worked on diablo 2 had. There wont be any gigantic and obvious mistakes like there was with diablo 2. That game was made a long, long time ago. People tend to forget that. Things like gold sinks and such were completely overlooked in those days. I really wouldn't worry about it.
