Blizzard gave the official announcement about stash tabs....
Do you mean the announcement at Blizzcon there?
If so, am I the only one who finds it remarkable that there has not been one single mention about Stash space anymore in any of the recent Blizz News about the Season Journey & Awards? One would assume that such an important thing (unarguably the most important thing) like a Stash Tab would find a mention in those announcements, if there are really still plans to implement that system....
I tend to think that they dropped this idea, if the Blizzcon announcement was really the last official statement about it. Considering the mostly devastating feedback from the community, that does seem like a realistic option to me. Anyway, we will know in a few days.
and my personal opinion to the discussion:
- Blizz obviously wants to keep as many people as possible playing Season. Because making people start the same thing over and over and over again is the only way to keep such a large community alive. I guess up to that point, nobody disagrees.
- Obviously, they feel the need to give additional incentive for Seasons, one can only guess that's because Blizz are aware that the whole system does not offer much incentive by itself.
- Now Blizz dropped the concept of seasonal legendaries because many people didn't like being forced to play Season to get new gear on time. And Blizz was bold enough there to come up with "we care about our community's input" and all that.
- At the same time, they wanna implement a new system with seasonal Stash Tabs.. which now does not only give a temporary disadvantage to non-seasonal players, but a permanent one - increasing with every Season. And more Stash Tabs are an advantage. Huge one.
