I KNEW IT!
Not the spoiler bit, but that the female wizard was voiced by Grey DiLisle (Azula from Avatar). Perfect fit, IMO.
The rest...must resist spoiler. Must...focus...on...work.

And then the lag. BOOOO!
But seriously, how can anyone play in this? My game would pause for about 10 seconds everytime I shot and killed a zombie with my poison dart. I gave up before I even got in the New Tristram. -

Personally, I'm going for fighting heaven to primary be in the expansion, because Hell moved first. Or, it would because Heaven moved first, but Hell made the overt move and so the heroes go after them.
Either way, if they set up D3's story correctly for an expansion (and does anyone think there will not be an expansion?), then they could easily flow from fighting Demons to fighting Angels without the story being split into two "campaigns" that are just barely connected, story wise.
If that is Blizz's plan, then I hope they have some foreshadowing in the main game involving hunt down angels. It would be a great side quest (even more so if it is hidden and so if you don't find it, then you don't have a blank in the quest screening telling you as such). So we would either fight a few low level Angels, or at the end you find out the bad thing the quest is trying to fix was caused by an angel, not a demon. -

They said over and again they don't want traits to be under-powered or boring... then things like +Gold find should NOT be a trait. I really hope it's not....
Unless, of course, just maybe, gold is actually...I don't know...useful? Because, if you actually need gold, maybe this is worthwhile? -
Jul 22, 2010TheDFO posted a message on The Cosmology of Diablo: Angels and DemonsSo, I'm new here, but not to Diablo by any means (I do believe I was around to by D2 and LoD when they were knew, but that was awhile ago). And sorry for the necro post, but it somewhat fits my missive on the Angel of Death issues.Posted in: News
Anyway, I feel you all are taking "Death" as a MORTAL human would (understandable, I doubt any of you are immortal aliens), as in, "shuffle off this mortal coil." Basically, dying is something unavoidable. I very much doubt that either the Angels, or the higher up Demons, would agree. It might be a possibility, but not a necessity of living, like it is for us flesh piles.
Think of it more like this: When you clean up some space, and you find something that doesn't fit, you move it. But if the thing that doesn't fit also doesn't fit have it's place anywhere, you get rid of it. You throw out trash, swat bugs, flush waste, etc. To an Angel, Death might mean the complete erasure of time. Malthael may simply be the Angel in charge of removing things that do not have their place in the Angels idea of Order (well, at least those things that can be removed by a single angel). They felt that humans are/were abominations, and thus should be DESTROYED, as in cease to exist, erased from all of existence.
That would probably make Malthael the Angel of Death, Oblivion, Nothingness, or something else. He could possibly be the opposite of Baal. Instead of wanton destruction, he would govern the excise of unwanted things. The surgeon who removes tumors, if you will. It could also be said that he's the opposite of Mephisto, what with the orderly remove of that which does not fit being about as far from Chaos as you can get. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

For starters, it's a HC char on USEast (doverley, the sin is called trapamasin), and it will be for PvM.
Anyway, I was planning on going a lightning trap sin, but specifically focusing on either the cb or shock web traps, just cause I like spamming massive amount of lightning all over the map.
Anyway, I was planning on pointing a few points in fire blast and web till I could get CB, then maxing that, then following up with web and FB for numbers, then the sentries for damage. Also, I plan to put at least one point in claw mastery and weapon block, to help handle lightning immunes. Possibly, also one in shadow warrior. This can also transition fairly naturally into lightning sentry, as everything except FB is also a sentry syn.
Questions:
1) Can a primarily cb/web sin do well? And by well, I mean make it's way into hell without serious help other than baal runs/bosses.
2) How many points does it take to make warrior worthwhile as a distraction? Is one point enough? Is it worth the other prereqs?
3) Speed boost. Should I get it? Does it increase attack speed?
4) Fade?
5) Good (cheap) items? I don't intend to use trading much.
6) Order for maxing skills. Go for number of shots/waves first, or damage, or a mix?

Back to fighting dragons...could it be possible that Trag'Oul has some sort of off spring or helpers that are dragon shaped, but not all powerful like, as he is?

The lvl cap being 60 does not mean that it will be the same level 60 as in D2. It was set there to balance giving enough skill points to make different builds, while still making each point useful. They could have made the cap 200, but each addition skill point would probably than have to add only a point or two, otherwise it would be insanely unbalanced. Similarly, I doubt Blizz will increase the level cap without adding skills, and so I doubt they placed it at 60 "just to get more money with DLCs." And even if they do plan to raise it in DLCs, they could do the EXACT SAME FUCKING THING if the cap was 99. Get over the fact that the number isn't the same as D2. Remember, just because something worked one way in D2, doesn't mean it will work that way in D3. Three is not the same as Two.
The graphics. Is color REALLY that bad to you people? Various shades of brown do not make things scarrier. The images of Act 2 seem just as crazy as in D2 (and can you really say that the Thousand Pounders intro animation isn't scary? Or the Siege Beast biting the head off of people?). And those images floating around, yes, they look good as images. But when you're actually playing, almost all of those textures won't be noticeable unless you stop to take a screen pic. Plus, it would also probably make the game too busy, and it'd make it that much harder to see what's going on when a bunch of people are on the screen at once fighting a bunch of mobs.
As to the 4 player cap, I agree with it being bad...kind of. I haven't played the game, so I don't know how many people really will be needed, and how many is too many. IMO, in D2, 8 spellcasters was frequently too many when all the spells where in the same area. I normally would say "give us the option" but I'm gonna wait till I can actually play the game. And as to people joining and doing other things: First, we do have the statement that you have to work together, so it's doubtful that someone of similar level will be able to MF by their lonesome. And from what I understand of the matchmaking, when you join a game you automatically get placed in games with similar level people, so it's unlikely to get a large enough level difference to where you can MF by yourself in someone else game. Of course, this is just a guess, and it's possible that blizz will make it so that MFing as a group is only better if you work together instead of separately. We don't know.
And to PvP. First, Blizz knows that most people who will play the game (maybe not most people who frequent forums about it, though) don't like the way PvP worked. If you liked joining someone elses game and forcing them to play to your idea, especially if they are lower level, you're a jackass and I don't care how much you dislike the Blizz won't let you grief in D3. Please, don't buy it.
Stat allocations...please, stop pretending D2's version was anything like "customization." All it ever was enough strength/dex to use teh equipment you need, then the rest in vit. Sometimes, if you're poor, you have to toss a few more into dex/energy. But if you didn't put it like that you pretty much gimped your character. Handicaps are not customization.

I'm pretty sure the armor is the biggest issue since you won't have a sword, but check out The Arreat Summit to check out specific items.
And as to Cold Mastery remove immunities? Since it lowers monsters resists instead of raising damage?

What's a better internet/TV? Comcast or Uverse? Any advice as to what kind of package to get to get sports (with HD) and Internet fast enough for online gaming?
Thanks.
Oh, and if you know the area, any other advice would be great.

It's always the little monsters that are the most annoying, like teh stygian dolls, fetishes, and those imp thingies from act V.

Of course, that style evolved because I'm too lazy/cheap to buy more shirts that aren't in those two categories.

Let me double check.
Yep, gives me "please insert the LoD disc" message.
