I know. It makes one wonder if DFans is going to eventually encompass all of Ohio State.

Anywho, welcome to Diablofans! And beware the hamster. That guy's a smooth criminal around here.

posted a message on Boss difficulty
I agree that with the right builds and gear, bosses are quite easy, especially when in Single Player and no matter the difficulty. However, to compensate for the lack of challenge, and to somewhat inflate my own gaming ego, I use the '/players' function. So far, I have not been able to best the Council of Zakarum on Hell difficulty when playing SP and having the players set to 5. My gear isn't that good and I'm only level 84, but I have gotten some really good stuff from them, and subsequent bosses before them, such as Trang-Oul's bracers, the gloves, belt, boots and helm of the Immortal King's set, M'avina's gloves and belt, Lycander's Aim, Stealskull, Duriel's Shell and Tiamat's Rebuke. Not to mention pretty much all of the lower lever set pieces. The only ones I haven't found are Arcanna's amulet and the Infernal Cranium. But that's just a matter of time. :kirby:

posted a message on Anyone Can Wear It
I would imagine that some unique armors and probably some set armors would be set to look the same no matter who's wearing it. That's a nice addition and certainly sets a good tone for D3 and sparks some questions that immediately come from the imagination...

What would your character look like wearing armor like Sparking Mail? Iceblink? Infernostride? Waterwalk? I could just imagine the visual effects of the brimming of elemental magics from these armors. Weapons wouldn't be out of the question, either, but since this topic is about armor, I'm sticking to the issue at hand. Imagine sets as well - the Wizard wearing Arcanna's Tricks set would look the same as the WD wearing it. Hee hee hee, I get all happy with nerd-like glee just thinking about these kinda things. :kirby:

posted a message on BRT checking AH
While I have no doubt that Blizzard will attempt to create the most stable economy that they can possibly achieve, the true test will come shortly after its implementation. Then we will see what is good, bad and exploitable and how easily the average player can make use of the exploitations. Nonetheless, I'm placing my hopes on the fact that Blizz will make a very robust and user-friendly economic system.

Hopefully they can learn from their mistakes. After all, history is much more instructional than inspirational.

1.13 has already been available for single player. You just have to log in to battle.net to download it.

If you were refering to me, my dragonistic friend, what I meant was that all of the content that's available to MP, such as Ladder items and recipes, be available also for SP. You know, the 'superpowered and cool looking' stuff.

posted a message on Ladder Reset Announced!
My sickness isn't something you guys would want, nor would I wish it on anyone else. I can only use the left side of my body effectively and the right side of my body is degrading slowly, to the point where I can now only hobble on my right leg and my right arm and hand has just enough lifting power to lift a dry teabag without pain. Also, I've had this for about, eh, near 18 months now. Some kind of neurological illness is to blame, but the closest anyone has come to explaining it is Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, which is widely known, however, not widely understood.

Back to topic - NEW PATCH!!! WOOOOOOO!!! But it really doesn't have that 'significant' kinda feel to it. Until they open up all content to SP and fix all of the major bug issues to the MP, it won't feel, and more importantly be, complete.

posted a message on Melee Combat & Monster Animations
Though I'd like to see it, I think Bashiok hinted on how the animations for the classes alone was a tall task. Imagine, then, doing that for every single monster. It's a cool idea and there's no doubt that I'd like and welcome it. The notion that every single monster in a game like Diablo would have animations for hitting, missing, clanging on shields, weapons and armors is a cool thing and would add an awesome sense of realism, however, it seems to be, at this point, highly unlikely. Though, I have to say, I really enjoyed it when I played Final Fantasy Tactics and my enemies melee attacks bounced of my guys/gals shield or weapon.

My D3 experience would be soooo awesome if a monster attacked, clanged off either my toon's weapon, armor or shield and my toon would face said attacker, if he/she wasn't facing the monster already, and go....

    NYAH-NYAH-NYAH-NYAH-NYAH-NYAH!!! :P

Kind of hard to do with only 1 leg. ;)

And one arm. :QQ: However, I can still manage to play Diablo and do all the other necessary things to be able to live, so I count my blessings.

posted a message on Spammin' the Post Count
I have to disagree with you. To echo Huck, Sixen and quote DBZ powerhouse Super Vegito "It's quality, not quantity."

It is my belief that those who see the post count as a dominant factor on fansites such as this are superficial. I liken it to this - if we took everything Sarah Palin and Albert Einstein said and place it in one forum dedicated to the documentation of both people, you'd probably see that Sarah probably has said a little more than Albert, but Albert has said things that hold more meaning to the average person than Sarah. That would be because Albert has, understandably, more intelligence and common sense than Sarah. In the end, though, to me, the post count, no matter how high, means absolutely nothing. It is the quality of the thought, not the number of them.

To the topic of the spam forums - No, I don't believe it hurts to ask to bring them back. However, whether or not that happens is up to the people with the pretty colors in their names. Specifically, the red and blue ones, I believe.

I'll bribe him with tea, rum and other alcoholic beverages  of his choice. I'm going through a lot of doctor's appointments and periods of time where I'm writing my book, though I've got another poll idea in mind. Just haven't gotten around to taking the time to refine it and then post it.

Did I mention I also have, at my disposal, some of the hottest wenches this side of the Caribbean?

Also, purple is cool. Purple equals awesome. However, bigger and bolder purple does NOT equal more awesome. Hear me Phrozen? Though, kudos are still in order to Phrozen and zhuge for keeping up the good wiki work.

posted a message on No LFHealz in Diablo III
Diablo has always been a kind of "demon over there, kill they arse" kinda game. I can't imagine Diablo having any sort of character that would focus on healing alone or to be healing proficient. That's WoW. Leave WoW to WoW and Diablo to Diablo. I don't expect there to be any kind of scenario where you go "OK, you tank there, we shoot from here and healers stay there" in Diablo. If anything, it should go "Hey, minnies over here. Biggie is fire enchant, get away before kill. Pray for good lewts."

Thank you Blizzard for not expanding this idea beyond D2's Paladin Holy Bolt.

Nothing in video games makes sense or is supposed to make sense. All video games is playing someone else's imaginations. Unfortunately, there are some @#$%^& up people in this world, so.....yeah. Some things suck, some things rock. Fortunately for all of us, Blizzard seems to have the right balance of weirdness, imagination and work ethics. Which makes for pretty rockin' gaming experience. And wanton mayhem, slaughter and total bloody devastation.

    Son of a......:boom:

So, after all this little hype I get with maybe thinking about getting pwnt by an uber....Grrrrrrrr.

    *grabs sledgehammer*

I'll be right back. Me and the Dev team at Blizzard are going to have a little chat.

    *walks away mumbling incoherently*

BTW, thanks Hippo and Phrozen. I'll send ya a case.

Edit: Something weird happened when I went to use Atma to mule stuff over to other toons. When my toon had possession of the Key of Terror and I tried to load the .dsi file, Atma warned me that the data appeared to be corrupted. Where I had placed the Key of Terror was in my HCube off to the right and in the middle two spaces and the rest of the spaces were covered with runes. The file showed the runes from the first two columns and the top rune on the right, but where the key was supposed to be and the rune below it never appeared. Realizing that the key was probably the source of the "corruption", I discarded it and saved. Sure enough, after I got rid of it, Atma responded normally to the opening of the file and I was able to mule from the character. Seems as though without the proper tools, as Phrozen and others have mentioned, the Key "glitch drops" and there's nothing you can do about it but discard it. Having PlugY or some similar mod will probably solve that. As for me, I'm just going to continue along, hoping and praying that, someday, I'll find all of the pieces of the Amazon set before I lose the ability to reproduce. Thanks all!

No, and actually I was referred to that mod but never looked it up or installed it. The only "mod" that I have is Atma V and that's just a basic muler I have to keep all the pwetty greens and golds (or whatever that color is, I don't think it's gold) I find.

If that isn't enough to cause the event to happen, then I can take a screen shot of my computer and post it on here. Freaked me out when I found it, lil pentagram on the top of it with 3 lil notches on one side and 2 on the other. I have never actually held a key on any of my chars until today.
