Feb 19, 2010CrazyCapnMorgan posted a message on Music of Diablo IIISo long as music is used wisely enough, it will add that much more greatness to an already seemingly impressive game. As a few of you have stated, it doesn't need to be over-the-top music, just subtle enough that you hardly know it's there, yet, forceful enough to grab your mind and let you know you're going through ruins filled with stuff that you need or would like to have, then the undead and hellish come out, the music chimes in and you just went from "Another mob..." to "Aw, sh** there goes the fan AND the ceiling!"Posted in: News

Feb 19, 2010CrazyCapnMorgan posted a message on Crafting in Diablo IIII'm with the general thought that this would be a good idea if it is made to be a useful tool in-game at any level and not just for specific uses like D2's cube. Don't get me wrong, I like the cube and the extra 8 spaces it provides, but all I mainly used the transmute thing for was for those two quests and to make full rejuve pots. Basically, all I can think of to liken this "crafting" process to something that I already like in this manner is Breath of Fire 3's dragon gene splicing. Fun, intuitive, it had set rules by what genes were used, and, when you finally figured out something cool, it surprises the heck out of you. If something similar to that happens, then all I could wish for is to make a weapon that tries to influence you telepathically with randomly absurd notions like "Go take a dump on a Fallen's head at sundown!" That'd mess with some people's heads. And give you more of a sense that the forces of the Burning Hells are winning.Posted in: News

Feb 17, 2010CrazyCapnMorgan posted a message on The Female Manbeast [Barb]Posted in: NewsQuote from "OathofChaos" »Not to sound like I'm copping out here, but remember, this is Sanctuary.
Thank the heavens for that. No taxation, no wondering if there is or isn't a global warming effect on the planet, just grab a sword, put on a helmet and go kill something. While we're on the subject of murderous intent, no matter how she looks, the *ahem* female manbeast definitely gives you the feel that she has no problem taking care of business. Female Barb, at least from the point of view of this Diablo fan, gets 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. -
Feb 17, 2010CrazyCapnMorgan posted a message on The Female Manbeast [Barb]I said it in enerkia's thread and I'll say it here - bottom half looks decent, top half looks a bit awkward. I was thinking a 3D model similar to female bodybuilders. Have you seen those women? They look like they could crush small vehicles with their just their hands. This model has somewhat oversized breasts and arms about as thick as the male monk's.Posted in: News
Although I will add something here - Finally red-heads get their due. If anyone remembers the incident of people kicking red-heads, this will give some of them justice. Anyone goes to kick this chick and she'll not only launch you into the sky Team Rocket style with those monstrous legs of hers, but also put Vinny Testaverde to shame. Not to mention crush your crotch area with one accurate enough swing. No "Replenish Life +(x)" would ever be able to make those little guys work again. -

However, my only concern is that the label on the bottle either has to be Captain Morgan or Duff Beer. We pirates have standards, too, you know. -

Feb 13, 2010CrazyCapnMorgan posted a message on Express YourselfThe way I figure it, Kirby can just be like a "super happy" kinda emote. Or just design it so he keeps on "Kirby dancing" like he does after you beat a boss on a Kirby game.Posted in: News
Scyber, if the sigs you make are any indication of your designing skills, why teh frack aren't you trying to cash in on that? The work that you've done is simply marvelous. -
Feb 13, 2010CrazyCapnMorgan posted a message on Express YourselfWay to go, Scyber! Awesome work. I'd like to make a suggestion, but, uh....it kinda embarrases me to say so. All I'd like to say is I'm a gaming nerd right down to my core and there are some things that I will always like no matter what anyone says about them...so...here it goes...Posted in: News

Feb 11, 2010CrazyCapnMorgan posted a message on Female Monk UpdatePosted in: NewsQuote from "Manmountain" »Practical realistic monk armour doesnt do it for me; big dangley symbolic pendants are the way to go.
p.s. I would love to see a monk pull some cheezy move and pull out a still beating heart from some beefy classic winged demon.
For me, I'd like to see the Dev team stick to as much realism toward monk garment and realistic gear progression as they possibly can. That's what the sensible person in me says.
The completely-mental-wacked-out-freaky-gaming-nerd in me says that anything close to someone looking like Akuma going completely nuts sh** on multiple demons and leaving nothing more than a charred, bloody, limb strewn pile of destruction in their wake is so mondo cool that I could give less than a (expletive) about how their armor appears. -
Feb 9, 2010CrazyCapnMorgan posted a message on Female Monk UpdateAs for the picture that Zhar has in the OP, that pic looks solid to me. I'm sold on that look. However, the ones I viewed at Blizz's D3 dot com site were not as forgiving. I'm of the like mind with some people here that the armor look for her, and by that, yes, I mean the shoulderpads/pauldrons, is a bit off. That aside, the concept art for the female monk is decent enough - by looks, you know she's a woman, and by skills in battle, you know that she could probably hold her own against someone like...say, Xena.Posted in: News

Jan 8, 2010CrazyCapnMorgan posted a message on Forget recession, it's a boom ― of the Diablo economy.Good job, Don_G! What a wealth of information you've dug up.Posted in: News
I would absolutely love to see D3 balanced in this manner. I played D1 for a brief period on-line and didn't like it one bit and never really tried D2 on-line, especially with all the dupes I heard floating around (to include the ones you've already mentioned Don_G). If Blizzard can manage to provide a somewhat balanced economy with decently implemented methods to prevent duping items and money, (should money be valuable as they claim it will be) I might decide to return to on-line PC gaming and quickly secure me a copy of D3. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

What would your character look like wearing armor like Sparking Mail? Iceblink? Infernostride? Waterwalk? I could just imagine the visual effects of the brimming of elemental magics from these armors. Weapons wouldn't be out of the question, either, but since this topic is about armor, I'm sticking to the issue at hand. Imagine sets as well - the Wizard wearing Arcanna's Tricks set would look the same as the WD wearing it. Hee hee hee, I get all happy with nerd-like glee just thinking about these kinda things.

Hopefully they can learn from their mistakes. After all, history is much more instructional than inspirational.

If you were refering to me, my dragonistic friend, what I meant was that all of the content that's available to MP, such as Ladder items and recipes, be available also for SP. You know, the 'superpowered and cool looking' stuff.

Back to topic - NEW PATCH!!! WOOOOOOO!!! But it really doesn't have that 'significant' kinda feel to it. Until they open up all content to SP and fix all of the major bug issues to the MP, it won't feel, and more importantly be, complete.

My D3 experience would be soooo awesome if a monster attacked, clanged off either my toon's weapon, armor or shield and my toon would face said attacker, if he/she wasn't facing the monster already, and go....
NYAH-NYAH-NYAH-NYAH-NYAH-NYAH!!!

And one arm. However, I can still manage to play Diablo and do all the other necessary things to be able to live, so I count my blessings.

It is my belief that those who see the post count as a dominant factor on fansites such as this are superficial. I liken it to this - if we took everything Sarah Palin and Albert Einstein said and place it in one forum dedicated to the documentation of both people, you'd probably see that Sarah probably has said a little more than Albert, but Albert has said things that hold more meaning to the average person than Sarah. That would be because Albert has, understandably, more intelligence and common sense than Sarah. In the end, though, to me, the post count, no matter how high, means absolutely nothing. It is the quality of the thought, not the number of them.
To the topic of the spam forums - No, I don't believe it hurts to ask to bring them back. However, whether or not that happens is up to the people with the pretty colors in their names. Specifically, the red and blue ones, I believe.

Did I mention I also have, at my disposal, some of the hottest wenches this side of the Caribbean?
Also, purple is cool. Purple equals awesome. However, bigger and bolder purple does NOT equal more awesome. Hear me Phrozen? Though, kudos are still in order to Phrozen and zhuge for keeping up the good wiki work.

Thank you Blizzard for not expanding this idea beyond D2's Paladin Holy Bolt.

So, after all this little hype I get with maybe thinking about getting pwnt by an uber....Grrrrrrrr.
*grabs sledgehammer*
I'll be right back. Me and the Dev team at Blizzard are going to have a little chat.
*walks away mumbling incoherently*
BTW, thanks Hippo and Phrozen. I'll send ya a case.
Edit: Something weird happened when I went to use Atma to mule stuff over to other toons. When my toon had possession of the Key of Terror and I tried to load the .dsi file, Atma warned me that the data appeared to be corrupted. Where I had placed the Key of Terror was in my HCube off to the right and in the middle two spaces and the rest of the spaces were covered with runes. The file showed the runes from the first two columns and the top rune on the right, but where the key was supposed to be and the rune below it never appeared. Realizing that the key was probably the source of the "corruption", I discarded it and saved. Sure enough, after I got rid of it, Atma responded normally to the opening of the file and I was able to mule from the character. Seems as though without the proper tools, as Phrozen and others have mentioned, the Key "glitch drops" and there's nothing you can do about it but discard it. Having PlugY or some similar mod will probably solve that. As for me, I'm just going to continue along, hoping and praying that, someday, I'll find all of the pieces of the Amazon set before I lose the ability to reproduce. Thanks all!

If that isn't enough to cause the event to happen, then I can take a screen shot of my computer and post it on here. Freaked me out when I found it, lil pentagram on the top of it with 3 lil notches on one side and 2 on the other. I have never actually held a key on any of my chars until today.
