    posted a message on Reason why D3 is so LATE
    The reason Blizzard games take such a long time to develop has nothing to do with them skimping out on costs, or them worrying about competing with their other games. There is just one single reason for it.

    Iteration.

    The process of designing something, taking two steps back, looking at it from a different angle, and then redesign. Rince and repeat.

    This process can by its definition not be sped up. It is also the secret behind many great succeses Blizzard has had.

    I don't think a global market, like the WoW auction house would fit Diablo 3. Not because it's an MMO mechanic, not because it would be "ripped off" from other games. It's because there are no Bind on Pickup (BoP) items in Diablo 3, only Bind on Equip (BoE).

    This means that ANY item would be obtainable by simple gold grinding, and would effectively decrease the players incentive to seek out the drop. Because let's face it, why work your butt off for an item, if it probably won't have the exact stats you want, while you can just as easily grind gold and buy the item, with the exact stats you want.

    If I wanted to grind for currency so I can buy the stuff I want I'd go to my office.

    So? =P Does something bad happen if people watch it? ;o He may be a narcisistic fatass but seeing someone with a train of thought that's clearly derailed claiming he knows the ultimate truth about everything is just darn entertaining :D
    Funny how you seem to have the same train of thought as the guy on the video. It entertains me. Keep it up. :thumbsup:
    It just makes me a little bit sad we're not allowed to laugh at funny/stupid stuff simply because it could potentially encourage someone =P Lighten up.

    I personally cannot imagine that with all the know-how in the world today, combined with the time they've had, nobody will be able to come up with a solution to contain this situation. This won't be another chernobyl.

    posted a message on Mana/Resource globes?
    I was reading the blizzard Diablo 3 forums, when I saw a post of a guy who made a video of D3 gameplay, with added filters and decreased light radius. Link below;

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elqu6OcC19c

    Even though I wasn't overly impressed with the results (I actually quite like Blizzards current style), I did notice something at the 14:26 mark.

    After the wizard casts her time slowing bubble, and picks off her enemies, a blue globe drops. While for the video the user interface is hidden, we cannot see the effects of this globe, but it does seem to work much the same way as a health globe.

    Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

    Also, should the colors intrigue you, here's the link to the topic this video was posted in;

    Wait what, the game is going to be locally translated? So because I life in the Netherlands my game will be in Dutch?

    That sucks a bazillion balls, I hate my native language beyond the very end of space and time.

    You need not worry, there won't be a Dutch version =P The reason there probably will be a Frensch, German, Spanish and Russian version is that those countries' populations aren't very adept at the English language. We Dutch famously are ^^

    posted a message on EA hides SecuROM in Dragon Age 2.
    Actually Veggie50, what I read was that it DIDN'T go away after the release date. That's the whole point. And it was based on SecuROM, so it probably opens up most of the same security exploits, as well.
    Some passive files (meaning they don't run in any way) were left in a temp folder. If the name on it was anything but securom, nobody would have cared, ever.
