DeVere posted a message on Speculation: Will We Fight Angels in Diablo III?Actually, I think the jump from fighting demons to angels (and demons?) could be done pretty easily over the course of a couple of 2-3 minute cutscenes. (Though, I wouldn't object to blizzard making much longer cutscenes to explain it :))Posted in: News & Announcements
They could have Cain explain it during the cutscenes as the worldstone was destroyed which once again brought Sanctuary and its inhabitants to the attention of the Angris council. Realizing how close humanity had come to being controlled once again by the denizens of hell the angels decided to intervene.
You wouldn't need to name the game anything else to fight angels. The game is named Diablo but in DI and DII you fight other foes, not just Diablo. Also, there's no 'god' or even 'devil' in sanctuary, it's the three Prime Evils, and the Angris Council. At least we know heaven and hell aren't fascist.
Considering the fact that in the books most of the demons work through manipulating humans I think it would be interesting to devote an act to fighting both demons and the humans that had turned to their side. AKA the Triune. That would kind of destroy the whole bit where you're just killing demons though and maybe Jay Wilson wouldn't want his daughter playing it anymore.
Last thing, anyone else notice that the spell check on here thinks Diablo is spelled wrong? -

wolves212 posted a message on Warcraft3 FT & Hamachi IssuesHmm.. sometimes hamachi is iffy. Perhaps a different program?Posted in: Warcraft & WoW
A very common one that people will refer you to is Garena: http://www.garena.com/
Its pretty nice, has rooms based on what you want to play and you can even launch warcraft from within Garena itself.
Another cool one that i like is Tunngle:
http://www.tunngle.net/en/
Tunngle is in beta, and is a german program, but its not too hard to figure out once you get used to the interface :).
heres a vid on how to use it. http://bit.ly/6IljBm (youtube video but had a long link :/) -

ScyberDragon posted a message on Speculation: Will We Fight Angels in Diablo III?How much fun would it be to have demons, angels and humans all fighting at once. Some of the demons would pick off the angels while some of the angels would smite the demons. The whole time you are fighting off both groups as well. That would make for some epic fights and add some change to the game with npc's fighting both you and other npc's at the same time.Posted in: News & Announcements -

ScyberDragon posted a message on Patch 1.13 pollPosted in: Diablo IIQuote from "Zhar" »I voted for hate, and I still like the changes.
It's just everything surrounding the patch that made me really hate it..
I agree with you. It is not that the patch was so bad, it was just that we were all lead to believe it was going to be so much more. Starting it off by calling it a "content" patch. Followed by the "tell us what YOU want" thread. Then the multiple delays made us think that they were at least working on something big. I think a lot of people were let down because of Blizzards own hype with the patch. -

nickm83 posted a message on Patch 1.13 pollI was glad they didn't increase stashes after all, that would have made bm'ing everyone in duels even easier then it already is.Posted in: Diablo II
Kinda neat to see hydras and werebears get a boost, maybe there'll be some people trying new builds with them in pvp games now. It would have been really nice though to see sorb get toned, its lame now when you can bm someone and heal off their attacks.
Slightly more common hr's and dupe patch might be cool, depending how effective their dupe patch is.
Nerfed hammers and light sorcs...big deal. There is plenty of other builds that completely crush pvm. Pvm is easy, with the exception of these two nerfs it just got even easier this patch. Sure I hate pvm'ing with my fire sorc, but I love to pvp with it, its all a trade off, not every character is equal at everything. Soon as they announced the hydra change, I knew it was a pvp change, gl for anyone trying to solo hell with a hydra sorc:)
Would have been better overall imo if they just focused more on cracking down on illegal third party programs. Somehow they decided to ban people running 2+ legit copies of the game from one ip, but they still let the guy using 19 different mods go untouched. Seems a little backwards if you ask me.
Other thing seriously lacking is new gear. Would have been great to see some of the slightly underpowered builds get a boost from some new runewords designed for them, like fire druids or ma sins.
Otherwise though, I doubt I'll bother with it. Not worth the time just to play the same old game, thats gonna be ruined by the same old hacks, just becuase I might see a hydra sorc or werebear in a duel. -

OathofChaos posted a message on The Wait is Over -- PTR Patch 1.13Posted in: News & AnnouncementsQuote from "vladdracul" »It's public testing the changes they made, they never said they were gonna add anything else. They are testing these changes to make sure they are good then that is it. This is the patch. Just checking to see if it all works. I doubt they will make any major changes to what is already done.
Actually, that is false. Baishok has already implied that these are just preliminary changes to test. This was to satisfy everyone who has complained in one form or fashion about the length of time between the initial post about 1.13 and now. -

Jack_in_the_box posted a message on The Wait is Over -- PTR Patch 1.13People are complaining??? Seriously?Posted in: News & Announcements
Any other company would have stopped patching and balancing 3-5 years ago. Most companies do not put legacy teams on games that are 10 years old. Not only that but Blizzard has a sequel in the works and they are still improving D2.
Plus being disappointed about a patch that is still in public testing is lame. Its not even final yet.
Blizzard makes no money (maybe from that ad banner) from battle.net play and a new patch isn't attracting a whole lot of people to purchase the game. And those who do are only paying $20.
I guess what I'm saying is, if you want more content, wait for D3. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I never said anyone said that. That's just the impression I get from people who are totally opposed to respec.
I also never said that my example was a good idea (I said the opposite) and I also never said i thought it would be implemented...I said that is what people seem to be assuming will be implemented....sigh....
The point is. We don't know anything about the new skill system and we don't know anything about the respec...How can we assume anything, and if we are going to make assumptions why would we assume that it's going to be terrible. Why not hope for the best?

I remember hearing they didn't have stat requirements on items. Probably just level.
But that could always change.
