Oct 20, 2008Psykosis posted a message on Top 10 Most Wanted and Unwanted Environments in Diablo 3Since we're on the subject of most disliked environments, I personally disliked the maggot lair you had to go into to get the Staff of Kings (Act 2). Although it did capture the cramped and claustrophobic feeling of descending into an insect burrow, I hated being in there. My merc would always get stuck on the environment and not be able to tank for me. The same applies to the Arcane Sanctuary. It accomplished the feeling of a hidden fortress created by a mad sorceror, but my merc had the worst pathfinding skills ever. Maybe D3 will incorporate better path finding to assist those who need their mercs up frontPosted in: News

Oct 16, 2008Psykosis posted a message on Top 10 Monsters You'd Hate To See in Diablo IIII have to agree with most of the monsters on these posts as being lame or extremely unfair. The top two in the unfair category for me where the Glooms and the Abyss Knights in Act 4. I played mostly single player and these guys were impossible to face alone when they were in groups. If I ever encountered them, I usually just took another pathPosted in: News

Oct 15, 2008Psykosis posted a message on Character Stat AssigningPosted in: NewsYou've got some good points there. No matter how they set up stat points, skill points, and runes, and any combination of them, there will be a few good ways, and a few bad ways. And probably a few terrible ways and a few uber ways. So, while in D2 you can become great through stats, in D3 you will become great through skillpoints and playstyle. The way i see it, they haven't sacrificed anything, they've only shifted peoples' focus from stats to skills. Which, to me, is a good thing.
From what i've seen from playing WoW though, a lot of times there is no "best" way. there is only a best way for speciffic playstyles. So hopefully they will balance the different character builds so that the good builds are equal in a way, that way, no single uber build will dominate the game. For instance, in WoW whenver a ridiculously powerful combo or build is found by a player, Blizzard finds a way to nerf it, not to take away power but to restore the balance of power while keeping the game fun for people who don't enjoy the playstyle requitred for that certain build.
This is getting to complicated, but overall what i'm saying is i agree, and i have trust in Blizzards' ability to keep enough customization to please people, but also allow more skillful/knowledgable players to have the advantage they deserve through playstyle rather than through character build.
This is a completely agreeable post. Blizzard has made plenty of awsome games in the past, and we can all trust as Blizzard fans that they shouldn't dissapoint on one of their record breaking franchises. Please, it's Diablo; do you think that they would stuff some awful crud down our throats after such a long wait for a third game? So what if they removed one of the features that made Diablo 2, in my own opinion, not as good as it could be. I trust that this decision was made for balancing and playability issues, and I'll be damned if something like this could ruin this kind of game from a developer that's had me by the neck for so long with their incredible games.
And I also agree with your theory of incorporating, another one of their success World of Warcraft and it's playability and balancing issues into Diablo 3. I'd be shocked if this wasn't the reason/cause for creating auto stats. -

Sorry, but you're wrong. True, most games that put you in control of a protagonist have RPG elements; but that doesn't define them as RPG. Halo for instance puts in you control of Master Chief right, RPG? Please...
The lines between game genres are completely blurred making extremely entertaining gaming experiences; but still an actual RPG is an RPG. Everything else just has elements of this genre. -

Oct 14, 2008Psykosis posted a message on Character Stat AssigningI honestly can't say whether this is a good or bad decision, I've not seen the game in full action. Until then all we can do is speculate how this game isn't going to be Diablo 2 where character classes were all converted into "tried and true cookie cutter" versions like "Hammerdin" by stats and gear. Personally I like the ability to focus my skill points into certain areas that give me advantages for the characters fighting style I'm trying to create. But honestly, as long as it doesn't detract from the important aspects of an RPG's customization like appearance and abilities it shouldn't make a difference. But in the end we all won't know how this will work until we finally get our hands on it, so until then Diablo will kick every inch of ass that it's always kicked.Posted in: News

-Drops are meant to be random, try again sucker!
-Stamina potions useless, ok...when you have no stamina and you're walking like hell from diablo with his flaming lightning all up your ass...useless?
-Nihlathak's CE attack, had no problem with it. You just need strategy my friend. Every boss can't simply be "run in with swords and arrows flailing and hope he dies before you do". That's boring.
- + light radius..................that shouldn't even be dignified with a response. But here's one...STFU whiner and go play "Hello Kitty Island".
-Again with the drops thing. Ok, then how about Blizzard makes a patch where IK's drop every time you kill something.
-The Great Marsh? Seriously? How about having the Valley of the Vipers entrance spawning right next to the Lost city entrance. Again, random experience...deal.
-And personally I think it's neccessary to nerf skills that players exploit because of their uberness. Why should a player have the option of even trying another class if one class has an uber godly skill? This kills the replay of the game.
Dude, next time you want to whine, do it to yourself where no one can be irritated by it's pointlessness.
