posted a message on i give up on these beta giveaways
While I am a dedicated player of the diable franchise and I am eagerly awaiting D3 to be released, I figure that when i get one i get one if i do. I work too hard going to school and working full time to completely live on these sites.Dont get me wrong I would love the chance to help improve and refine what will likely be the third computer game I have ever purchased as well as the only game i purchase on both pc and console, however i simply do not have the time to piss an moan about it all day everyday. I love diablo and appreciate all of blizzards hard work and even if i never see a beta key I hope that they are able to build the game to a level that will compete with the depth and fun that made the first two games soo adictive.

    - Will blizzard be releasing a playable demo of diablo 3 prior too full release off the game???
    - How far along development is the diablo3-team? (acts, charachters, quests,...). Wich things have they finished since the announcement at WWI?
    - When does Blizzard HOPE diablo 3 will be finished and ready for release? (I know they wont give an exact date for release, but i just mean; When do they to plan to release at latest, at around what time does it HAVE to be ready at latest? (could be earlier, but at latest that date)

    grtz

I like these questions, getting to the point, I wanted D3 3 years ago, and now I want a demo or something to get my "fix"
( i would play D2 but after awhile it becomes a joke, because everyone is about collecting crap and rushing new characters, I actually like playing through the quests in the game and completing it. Ive already been rushed through, i have a lvl 17 paly that is in hell mode. That was just not fun to me.)

Seriously guys, if your going to post questions and ideas, could you try to first look at other folks' previous posts so not to restate the same idea/subject. It's jsut getting stupid when you got 10 people talkking about Guilds/Kinds of Loot/skill tree......

He's trying to get the top ten asked questions, so he WANTS people to re-ask the same questions.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Death Mechanic and Town Portal
I like the idea of not spawning in town. there has been no mention of the town portals thus far so it feels like a lot of people are reading more into what he has said than is necessary. They are trying to get people more involved into the game, and less into the tedious running back from town if you die. The town portals will be announced later on in development, but as i see it, i like them with no restrictions, but if they put restrictions on them it may make the game worth playing longer.

    Quote from "GrrrboyMC" »
MedievalDragon, how does this prove this is Ureh? You've got two screenshots of zones we've already seen, and three pieces of artwork which have no title that I can see, and that don't even give a clue as to what they are by the filename. I'm not doubting it is Ureh necessarily, I'm just wondering how you came to this conclusion? Is there something I've missed here? I just get the impression you are jumping to conclusions!

Heres a though look at the diablo3 site, the WALLPAPER is named UREAH.

Well that's the thing, should we be saying something now and letting those changes get implemented the first time around, or should we wait till things are too late and too much of a bother to alter in later stages of development.

If people are going to "shut our pieholes", we'd at least like to hear something from some of the developers. If they said something like: "Your opinions have been noted. We're experimenting with our artwork based on some of the suggestions by the fans and we'll try to make the best decision on how to proceed with the artwork with the project."

If they managed to at least acknowledge some of our requests to some extent, then that would probably make people feel a little bit easier. Instead what happened is a critique of some of our photo shopped images, using some talking points which I don't consider to be completely truthful.

Personally I think him stepping down is most likely due to some internal conflict with some members of the art staff and the management. It may have been rolling around some his justification of his choices, maybe not, but I do think there was some sort of issue that led to his resignation. For an important title like this, it's very unusual for an upper level developer to leave at this stage in the title (usually it's either very early or very late, nowhere in between).

this is true, however has anyone taken the time to draw up an official business plan to show the justification for the extra time it would take to start from scratch? Honestly, I know i wouldn't have the time. Also other than a petition has anyone even contacted the Development staff to submit intelligent suggestions? and i don mean "don't make it so WOW'ish".

will armor shrink to their normal and reasonable size as the game progresses, along with stone statues getting to look more serious and mean? will the color actually make some sense as the game progresses unlike the green in tristram cathedral?
the petition also points these thing out, its not that simple

i thought fanboys are people who belive blindless in game comapanies if they were some almighty god
i think blizzard is just a bunch of talented humans that can take some advice sometimes

Ok, sorry about my comments but this is about the tenth post about this topic i have looked at and it is the same thing over and over, its not dark enough, it looks like wow, blah blah blah.

My point still is if you dont like the direction, short of whining and signing petitions, either help or just stop complaining.

Here is the deal, all of you fanboys will get pissed but oh freakin well, i have played the diablo franchise since 6 months after the first one came out, and i know a bit about the development of video game, so i can thoroughly say that many things in the game are destined to change, however......

!!!!HIS QUITTING HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FANBOY PETITIONS THAT SOME OF YOU THOUGHT WOULD MAKE A POINT!!!!!!!!!

Here's an idea, unless you want to sign up and program and code this game into completion or help with the Art Direction, hows about you Shut your pie hole?

I happen to know that the lighting of this game was done bright in the beginning to give the game depth. That way when evil is let loose it REALLY has a effect, plus this game is starting in daylight, the others began at night.

Maybe we should all wait for more than the first maps to be created before we criticize.

Alas, I have to work and i cant justify taking off just to see a video game convention. i will watch it online since i have cable. But if it were on cable i might buy it and invite some friends over and split the cost among them. best way to do pay per view that way everybody pays a little bit for it.

I'm not going to pay money to see any of this. Unlike some, I have the patients to wait a day to see the highlights. I also know how to read and how to look up the reviews.

I disapprove of how Blizzard is going Microsoft on us. Nickel and Dime all the way :(

God forbid they want to pay the hundreds of people that put this thing on. HOW DARE THEY??

Let me ask you a question, did you live under power lines growing up?

I apologize, i just get sick of people accusing companies of nickel and diming on something where they usually lose their ***es on. A little known fact is that most conventions cost more than they bring in, when you figure in the cost of the building the booths materials, AV equipment, models, contests prizes, damage insurance, injury insurance and all the employee costs for temp employees to work the convention, after all is said and done the limited number of tickets sold doesn't equal that by a bit, so if they need to sell something to even the cost, why not sell lazy lethargic access over TV? That way people don't have to actually get up they can just choose buy the hit yes and watch the whole thing from home.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Multiplayer To Be Encouraged
    Quote from "shelledfade" »
The question IS, why the hell wouldnt you play multiplayer lol?

My experience on battle.net was a joyfull one. Maybe I just got lucky... But I only ever ran into someone instant boss killing or PKing a cuple of times. Trading with people was very fun for me. Leveling with other people was fun for me. PVP was fun for me.

There obviously going to have new features to make it so people cant do random gayness, like boss killing w/o the group. or PKing. Or not grouping and kill stealing. Well you would figure that from there experience with diablo 2...

You can always play single player online, just make a game and password it if you really just dont like multiplayer for some reason of which I have no idea. Then you have the option of playing with other people or not. Instead of just making a single player character. The game will definitly be the same on multiplayer as with singleplayer quests. Diablo 2 was, why wouldnt diablo 3 be, especially if there encouraging online play.

So basically. Why the hell wouldn't you play multiplayer lol?

OK well first, the game started as a single player franchise with LAN support, then In Diablo 2 the made it both single and MMO, but the focus was still on Single Player. I think that it should be even on Diablo 3 but, they should not imply that in order to play the game you need b.net and online ability. My wife loves to play d2 and she plays singleplayer and network over LAN but she doesn't like Battle.net because of all the aholes that bug the crap out of you to trade if you don't password protect you game. If they could make a private game area that did not require passwords to get to the game that would be great, have like a friends list and invite them to your game from the friend list, but have the game locked out to everyone else.

To give a better visual, when you log in and go to create game, then it should have a choice that says private game? with a checkmark that prohibits people from joining it. maybe put a PM system in where people can request to join games, but other than that make a private game by invite only. Also raising the number of people in a game a bit would help too.
