    great, rep+

but, you're touching WOW territory really really close

    Thanks,
I never got the chance to play WoW actually, only warcraft single palyer games. so how is it close to it? then maybe its true what most fans say, it does feel and look like WoW, if thats the case then i think Diablo needs to be a Black & White game with only red colored blood gore - Think Sin City, only its Diablo City now lol.

guys, guys. this game is supposed to be SIMPLE. if you have enough money - and game will provide it - you will buy enough potions and teleporter scrolls and eventually you will kill anything you see. that's all.

if you want player & quest change depending of time of day (!!!) and stuff like that, go buy yourself Elder Scrolls.

this game is ONLY about SLAUGHTER. And that's why we love it.

So be practical, if you ask for something, ask for encreasing chance of getting set & unique items... :P

and one more thing. Alien vs Predator is scary. Diablo was never scary. So if you dont want color, decrease gamma...

I disagree, Diablo is not simple, it's user friendly and easy to get into. Mario Bros is simple :P . Well saying Diablo is simple is over-simplifying it, i mean theres alot of stuff going on than we actually notice, but because the gameplay made easy, we tend to think it's a simple game. Besides this is a forum for us to discuss about ideas, so if Diablo is so simple, then we won't need this forum do we? if the game is simple, why is it taking Blizzard so damn long to finish it? come on already, i want the game now! :D

I played Elder Scrolls, i'd rather read a real scroll than play that game, ugh! its just damn boring, the D&N in that game is nothing new too,we've seen a lot of this in other games as well, but it's just that (if) it's implemented in Diablo, theres more the devs could experiment with. Well they do have weather in D2 lol.

again, only about slaughter? nah, theres more to it dude, come on, i think ure just lazy to discuss ideas here lol.

but i do agree on increasing set & unique items, that would be very cool :)

yup Alien Vs Predator is scary, love that game, but the question of either Diablo is scary or not, does it matter? Diablo is not Resident Evil or some thriller genre, it's action rpg. hmm now im thinking of Alan Wake. anyways, well, we do have Witch Dr to use scare skill, thats scary enough i think rofl.

can you sum up all that in a small paragraph:P

    ok lets see..

    * Day and Night transitions.
    - effects gameplay interms of questing, adventuring etc..
    - certain quest reveals certain objectives in the night (Tomb/Dungeon/items only appears at night)
    - certain portals opens at night, requires 3 days of item to be placed at certain areas in order for it to function/or magical use to be effective, certain armor/weapon look/function differently in D&N etc..)
    - influence how NPC do things on a day to day basis, such as trading, service etc.
    - affects thier availability interms of goods sold. (Bandits at night)
    - characters are less effective during night because of visibility.
    - hard-to-see-traps
    - Witch Doc's skills are enhance during the night.(double damage)
    - The Barbarian has an extra skill during the night, he can call out to the spirits of night wolves to aid him in battle.

well thats pretty much the main point, but if you have time, its better if you read my story lol. :)
Thanks for replying btw, I appreciate it.

    ^_^wow! cool list! i like it =)

SORRY IF THIS IDEA HAD ALREADY BEEN DISCUSSED (i don't really read a lot of forums =p) "BUT STAY AWHILE AND...aaaah shut up!".

Well for my part, i would love to see a Day & Night Transition. I think it would add greatly to the gameplay, and also, it'll give the dev' the oppurtunity to mix match different kinds of color pallettes into Sanctuary, so we don't only get "gothic" art direction, but also many other styles, according to day & night shifts. That way, we get all sorts of moods in the game, either outdoors or in dungeons (well maybe not dungeon, but perhaps the upper levels could be affected by day&night, or it could just be dark n scary lol).

With D&N(day and night), quests and adventure could have a different twist to it, imagine a quest that requires you to find a specific tomb or item, so you as a goody adventurer that you are, would set out to do so, only problem is that you can't find it! after a long and hard hack&slash, you still fail to find the tomb/item, then again, you only look for it during day time, later you find out that the tomb only appears in the night! so that also goes for certain monsters as well and countless other things. (well not that they all appear in the night, but something like that, certain portals opens at night, requires 3 days of item to be placed at certain areas in order for it to function/or magical use to be effective, certain armor/weapon look/function differently in D&N etc..) So we have to approach each quests and adventure through out the lands of Sanctuary a bit differently now, on top of that, it also contributes to the liveliness of the world that Blizzard has already created.

D&N will also influence how NPC do things on a day to day basis, such as trading, service etc. It affects thier availability interms of goods sold. We may get a normal full list of stuff during the day, but at night, we could get some "black market" stuff, then theres the possibility of that merchant getting rob by bandits on his way to Caldeum the night before, and he needs to restock his stuff within the next few days, because of this, you only get limited stuffs from him, then the merchant hires you to get his stuff back from those bandits and if you are successful, you'll get a reward, so now you have a quest! then after a few hours of adventuring, you complete your quest by ridding off the bandits that have been stirring fear among the travellers and merchants, because of your good deeds, more travelers and merchant comes to Caldeum during the night, and you get access to more stuffs! OR..

.. you could be the leader of those Bandits and have it your own way, by getting all the goods stolen from merchants and travellers you get free "black market" stuff. But of course by doing that there is some consequences, you affect the trade market in Caldeum and the overall well being of that place, because of your "leadership" more and more raids are made during the night, and NPC merchants or travelers won't be seen during the night, so if there is other quest that requires you to find a certain NPC, you'll have to find him/her during the day, at some other town perhaps, so more adventuring required ;).

Questing at night also requires players to use light/torch or any source of light, this will bring back the D1/D2 light radius into a more "enlightening" way lol. Light source could be from a burning torch, aura from a character, or environment effects - like fireballs or burning forest, weather - flashes of lightning will reveal certain things temporarily (well im sure theres more :). So to make it interesting, maybe without the light source(exception for Paladin's aura) characters are less effective during night because of visibility, so questing/combat during the night is a bit more complex, depending on character class and skills available, it's different from one another, but all characters have pros/cons at night, so its up to us to decide how to go about a quest in the night with our available options.

So maybe a player plays as a Barbarian and hires 2 mercs, a Paladin and Witch Doc (hopefully we can choose mercs) so 3 characters quest out into the night, finds a couple of undead/zombies, dispatches em, then another wave of baddies, the heroes annihilate them, then suddenly the heroes take damage from out of nowhere, curiously enough, the Paladin illuminates the area with some holy light skills, to their surprise, 6 unidentified monsters appear to be visible infront of them, then dissapears into the shadows of the night. They reappear and attack again, but this time the heroes are able to see them, thanks to the Paladins skill, unfortunately, the skill only last for awhile, infact it last even less during the night, however the Witch Doc's skills are enhance during the night, so most of his magic deals double damage. Then the Barbarian has an extra skill during the night, he can call out to the spirits of night wolves to aid him in battle, so after all that, the heroes eventually defeats the invisible monsters, Hoooray! ..but then the Witch Doc accidently trips on a "hard-to-see-because-of-the-dark-night" trap and sets off an explosion that kills em all... :P well yea something like that. (im never hiring that Witch again lol).

So, um what do you guys think? too much? ^_^.
