    Total skills: 32
    No. of attack skills: 18
    No. of non-attack skills: 10
No. of passive skills with no visual effect (attribute buff only): 4
No. of attack skills viable in late-game: 8
Number of skill points required to max out tree: 640
    32?
Maybe it's just me but I've always thought that every class in DII got 30 skills, 10 for each tree.

I mean maybe im crazy, but...

    Um... just as diablo 2 is the diablo 2 of diablo;
    isnt diablo 3 the diablo 2 of diablo 2 and the diablo 3 of the original diablo;
I mean, thats kind of how a series works, right?

If you are crazy, then I'm crazy too.:D

Actually, I'm about to get very geeky, but I'm a big fan of the colour commonly used for arcane magic, which is also used here, because it is very amusing if you know a bit about light and the human brain.

This colour, which is the one most frequently used, from Baldur's Gate to Hellgate: London, doesn't exist in the light spectrum. Whereas every other colour has its own position in the spectrum, we see this colour because we are presented with the otherwise brain-breaking situation of detecting wavelengths from both ends of the light spectrum at once. Generally speaking, our brain has two options for interpreting the input data:[alphalist=a]
Sum the input responses to produce a colour halfway between red and violet in the spectrum (which would in this case produce green – not a very representative colour of a red and violet mix)
Invent a new colour halfway between red and violet[/alphalist]This is the evidence that the brain takes option b – it has constructed a colour to bridge the gap between red and violet, because such a colour does not exist in the light spectrum -- since it isn't actually a wheel, but a finite line from low to high wavelengths.

What better colour for arcane magic than one that doesn't exist but is produced by our minds when presented with a visual paradox? I always grin.

    So that's why.
I agree there's no better color to represent arcane power.
    Great explanation, thanks.

Do you play Mage: The Ascension?

    Screw that. :P

Why in the hells are both versions of the class from the same place when the location is irrevelant with the lore of the class?!?

The page design of the wizard and barb are the same and the male wizard pic is on the same spot as the female barb on the barb page.
But while barbs are a race, the wizard isnt the member of some Xsiansai mage clan so i really dont get it why both versions of the class are from the same place.

    Sorry for off-topic.

Locations is NOT irrelevant to the lore.
    Barbarians are NOT a race.
    We are NOT off-topic.

We are discussing why can't be a samurai in the first release.
I'll would like to have him in an expansion, cause I think it doesn't fit in the first release.
Just like DII first we got barb then druid.
I don't think the female barb and WD come from any place else than their counterparts.
I think the same goes with the male wizard.

And try to write Xiansai sometime it's not that hard.:P(just messing with you)

The artwork on the wizard page shows a single small pic where a guy stands whos appereantly also far-eastern in appereance but its not certain who that is. After all, the male and female versions are supposed to be totally different characters so why a pic of the male wiz on the female wiz page? It could be some NPC whos related to the female wiz.
And the barb page has the female barb.

Now Kenzai will have to wait for an exp to see his beloved samurai class.
    Wizards come from Xiansai.
I can't imagine 2 classes coming from the same place in this game.
Except with an exp like barbs and druids.
