posted a message on D3 Looting Drops explained
This is a far better system then the previous D2 system since it easily results in one dude stopping his attack to wait for the boss to die so he has a half second advatange over the drops and gets to pick up everything which sucks not to mention the many times I SHOULD have gotten the item only to lag right when I click so i completely get shafted at least this way everyone has a fare chance to get whatever.

This is a far better idea then implementing an auction house which really just wouldnt work since Diablo currnecy is items not gold. It could make an interesting barter system which would allow people to instantly see what you have to trade with out the whole "WUG?" "WUG?" "i asked first," secret "i dont want them to see what I have because its so much better than what they have and im so much better at this game" bullshit that is seemingly universal to Diablo trade channels. Plus it could add another aspect to the game have a friend who goes dungeon diving feeds you the loot you make trades that benefit both him and you to create a virtual company now that would be tight.

Actually its those whiners that are 10 yo. All they do is whine like little pussies, and don't even know that they can make the game look appealing to themselves very easily. And just wait for more content. Ungrateful fucks.
HERE HERE! Everyone needs to stop griping about pointless shit like enivronment i dont care if they set the game in the Hello Kitty Island Adventure world I still get plenty of blood and gore.

P.S. Who thinks they should add lasting blood effects on a characters visage? Like you just raped a huge boss and now ur face is all covered in blood and guts and shit how tight would that be?

I played D2 since the day it came out usually in intervals, play for a few years stop get ew expansion play for a year stop come back play for another year but kinda lost with the economy stopped playing came back year later completely lost get hacked stop playing etc. I'm prolly gonna start playing again just cause D3 was announced and I have those little memories of fun and the desire to get that fucking enigma everyone has.

I think Blizz could take the time to create more unique type items from time to time. Maybe they could make some rare drops that say were limited to 1000 or something and just make a new one every once and a while. Meaning that Bow A has 1000. After the 1000th is found its done. Blizz then generates a new weapon (design might not matter because that would add costs) Bow B that has its own set of stats etc.
I like this at a certain cap of existing rare drops so there isn't a nigma like item on every character. However this still leaves the issue of worthless gold unanswered.

you say its more fast paced, but its defiantly not as fast paced as d2, the barbs attacks are wayyy slower.the movement, everything. slower.

Not really, we only saw a few attacks, and the armor the character was wearing wasn't enchanted so no movement buff It looked like a barb who had just started a game but happened to start with kick ass abilities and good armor/weapons kinda like it was planned out or made before the actual viewing...

posted a message on Sense of Accomplishment
The sense of accomplishment is the key reason for people to play the game in the first place. YOu play to win and winning gives you that feeling. Now how you define winning whether it be through awesome loot, big boss kill, a level up, or just winning a pvp battle is what keeps a person interested in the first place. I know the reason I quit WoW was because I was sick of killing the same damn monster over an over for one item and it never drops then I have to wait for an hour to find another group as well as (again) the endless monster massacring just to reach the next level.

If Blizzard just ends up doing the same thing for D3 I'm gonna fire bomb their headquarters.

That is an interesting idea for using gold.

Respectively, do you think your example of 20k would be somewhat difficult to obtain that amount, or 20k like in D2 where it was the sell price of one rare?

Maybe they could even split BoE to be a system like you mentioned where some could be unbound for a price to say Charsi. Maybe other "priceless" items (I just read your post in another thread) would actually be bound to your soul (I know... WoW reference) and you couldn't pay to unbind them.

I suppose unbindable items at a cost doesn't warrant a need for respecs, but I'd still like to see them.
I imagine the 20K would be a little bit more difficult to obtain than in D2 but not to a point where its some ginormous amount as it would be in WoW. And yea I think that certain items shouldn't be unbindable since this it keep up an aspect of rarity amongst items, and a chance to have someone say "Thats a sick ass sword I've never seen or heard of it before how do you get it," as oppose to "How much you want for it?" by motivating another character to complete a specific event you kinda jumpstart someone elses desire to play the game by giving them a goal.

They aren't getting rid of potions, they are reducing the dependency on them, or probably giving them limitations... Something like that. If this is the case, then you are going to need to watch your health. Notice in the gameplay video that the barbarian kept leaping, then using that ranged spell, then leaping. He's avoiding damage for a reason, and the reason being he can't heal mid fight.
Yea the Barb can leap away from damage but are the other classes gonna have a similar get out of death free card? The only way I ever knew how to dodge in D2 was to click away from and uncoming attack and that takes time to register and move so your dude gets blasted anyway, no problem take a potion. But in this I dont think clicking the mouse away from the monster is nessecarily gogin to keep you from getting ripped in half.

I like the BOE idea since it would keep the economy from going to shit as in D2 but it would need a counterbalance so all the nice items are forever impossible to trade for cause everyone is wearing it. A good balance i propose would be to use gold to unbind the equipment so it would place monetary and trade value on the item. That way gold wouldn't be pointless and it might actually become a real bargening chip for the overall game.

For instance: P1-" I want that mace of attrition," P2-"Ok it takes 20000G to unbind,"

You put the gold and the item in their respective trade slots, P2 gets the gold the item is unbound and traded to P1.

    Just a thought.

I was just viewing the D3 trailer again and I came upon the final boss fight where the big things literally bites off the barbs head, the first time I saw this my immediate reaction was one of awe and joy. How sick is is that you get Gears of War type death scenes and shit and then I wondered how this would actually work in the game? Like does your health have to be at a certain level for a boss to kill you in such a unique manner, since in the D2 days you would just take a lot of dmg fall down and die.

But with this new death scene aspect how are you going to be able to avoid this if now health globe thingys are on the ground? I mean yes they said potions were in the game but how are they going to be as readily available without a quick keystroke I don't want to have to go into my inventory and search through my bags hoping I don't take a death blow in the process. I dunno this seems like a small flaw that is gonna come back to bite us in the ass you know? Final boss fight with the big D and the main DPSer (whoever that might be) takes a one hit kill by getting grabbed and ripped in half, how are you supposed to avoid that?
