I honestly think the art directions is amazing. I love the new look and I think it will add a new level of depth to the game artistically and emotionally. The problem with these other old school, retro Diablo II fans is they're stuck on this mindset that Diablo has to be dark to convey a "gothic" vibe. It doesn't-- trust Blizzard in this decision that the gameplay will be much more vibrant, the surroundings will be much more immersive and epic. It will open up more doors for the art development team when creating environments, monsters and loot.
