posted a message on Characters/classes we want to see/be in Diablo 3
So based on the videos, comments I saw on the internet and personnal reflexions, here's my guess on the five classes.

(I must say that english isn't my first language, so sorry for grammatical errors)

    1. Witch-doctor, with a curse (horrify and mass confusion), summoning (monguls and zombie wall) and voodo magic (fire bombs and locusts) tree. You can bet people will focus on either voodo or summoning, but all of them will use the curse tree. Since the witch doctor uses 4 skills from the necromancer (horrify, mass confusion, summon mongul and summon zombie wall), I think he replaces our beloved necromancer from D2.

    2. Barbarian, will have the same trees, except the fact that he will steal some of the most neutrals spells from the paladin, like smite, charge or sacrifice.

    3. Prowler (I'm not sure if the name is correct), this one is a mix of the amazon and the assassin. One tree for ranged attacks, which will excel against multiple weak targets. The second tree will be the assassination tree, wich will use daggers or fist weapons to do massive damage to a few strong targets. the last tree will be something like survival, with traps and support spells like blind or slow.

    4. Wizard, which will act as the diablo 2 sorceress. This time, I don't think we'll see the classic fire and frost trees. My bet is for an arcane-type magic. Its manifestation would be either pink or invisible (like a pink magic whip or a surrounding force push). An other tree could be mind-control and the last one some nature based spells who would replace the druid's skills.

    5. Dark Knight (or demonologist), the return of the necromancer, melee-based this time. This character will have the fight fire with fire philosophy. Think of it as the opposite of the paladin.

I'll give a better explanation about his trees.

    1. Blackpower, this one is about spells like zeal, smite or fist of the heaven, but with a darker animation. The sword would turn black and shadowy and would deal more damage, for example. Life/mana leeching spells would also fall in this tree. The armor spells are also in this category. This tree (and the Dark Knight in general) favors a two-handed weapon.

    2. Conjuring. the Dark knight can conjure minons, but in a different way than the Witch-Doctor. From the videos, the WD will summon several relatively weak creatures (like the skeletons form D2). The Dark Knight would choose from 3 minions, and can control one of them at a time. The second part of the tree will be about revives. The last one will allow him to conjure strong beasts for a limited time (like the sorceress' hydra). Those beasts won't be able to move, or will only do a specifical action before vanishing (like killing one target or doing a strong Area Of Effect spell).

    3. Shapeshifting. The Dark Knight transforms into a strong demon. He has two choices: a fast demon (werewolf-like) or a strong demon (werebear-like). The rest of the tree will be about the different spells and abilities he has at his disposal while shape-shifted.

Unless you plan to use to Conjuring tree a lot, the Dark Knight won't need much mana.

I saw somewhere that a guy form blizzard said there were ways to improve the necromancer (sorry can't find the link), and I think the demonologist might be what he is talking about.

I know he looks like the Death Knight, but the paladin was just too boring in my opinion. Aside from the barbarian, we need new classes. Sorry for those who liked the paladin so much, but since the barbarian stole charge already, I don't think the pally will be in D3...

So, that's what the classes of diablo 3 will look like in my opinion, so let me know if you have any comments/ideas.

PS: I saw all of that in my crystal ball.

    I' m calling it

The witch-doctor will replace the D2 necromancer

The amazon and the assassin will merge together

The sorceress will become the wizard and will use arcane magic instead of elements magic.

The demonologist will be a melee necromancer, with shadow melee-spells, summoning and demon shapeshifting.

Finally... the barbarian will be in D3. : P
