I'd still do it even if it had no change, but if it was a change like d1 as you progress it changes, I would definitely be even more so interested in doing so. Variation is the key to success in longer more depth based dungeons.

I love the abuse towards blizzard for implementing something which can have very good side effects. Potions are still there, so I don't know why a lot of people are whining about how horrible globes are. They are saving you hitting one key for your potion. Secondly you have no idea about how common potions are, the globes were common yes, but he was also wearing full gothic plate and in the demo he takes 'zero' damage from the archers behind the shield bearers. He's over-geared, he's obviously going to be taking substantially less damage than someone wearing that levels gear. With the inclusion of more monsters doing 'special' attacks like the summoning from the cultists, the massive swing from the berserkers. I can see people of that level actually trying to avoid damage, whereas in d2 it's stand in the fire while spamming potions why move when you can spam your near infinite amount of potions oh wait I'm low on potions *townportal* If potions are vaulable which they might well be ie : not buyable from vendors.

Try looking at it another way as a caster you can focus on bringing mana potions in your slots rather than stacking up on hp potions, your barb / melee friend can get the globes while you drink a mana potion instead of you having to use BOTH at the end of a fight if you want to re-engage another group.

Or maybe your on very little hp, but you still have to fight this group of mobs to get a globe off them. So you actually have to think and avoid damage properly in order to take out the whole group to actually get beneft from killing them. Look at the monster mechanics, they are definatly going to work together. It's a risk/reward thing, I could waste a valuable potion and kill this group easy, or be smart about killing them and actually gain health from their death. People who enjoy playing smart and have the capacity to do so will enjoy this mechanic after trying it I'd say.

If only people would try be constructive rather than out right abuse, we might be able to actually have a conversation about something.

trading promotes community interaction which is always a good thing, d2 trading went off.. but I have a feeling this time they will probably put some auction house-esque thing in to help instead of sitting in a trade channel watching 10 pages of spam come every second :)

While not entirely a boss, I would love to see some fight in the form of the ancients except against the lineup of 7 heroes from d2:lod. Would be a very interesting fight, i'll always remember the ancient fight.

It's pretty obvious diablo is gunna be resurrected at one point during d3.

I think he meant quest items dropping for everyone off bosses. My understanding that is, the boss will drop an item for everyone, rather than the zerg fest / bot pickup that baal runs were. This way even if your a slow clicker or not botting you are still rewarded.

I'd have to agree, if I spent hours and hours couped inside one massive dungeon, albeit in depth would get rather dull. Unless it's clearly optional to hit the bottom floor but being forced through 20 levels of the same architecture to me isn't that appealing.

If you pause the gameplay video as he mouses over the skills, you'll notice skill cost fury and or stamina. Also note the colour of the barbs *mana* bar is also teal, compared to the witch doctors dark ocean blue. I can see some fundamental changes coming to the barb to make him a lot more fun to play.

They did say that the barb was the perfect character for their design philosophy. I can see them reworking his weapon specializations though. I'd say this is the driving reason why the barb has come back, but I think he has definitely changed tree wise.

The only reason the necro is so popular right now is pretty simple, he's gone and people want what they can't have. While I personally had 3x99 necro's on bnet back in the day it is very refreshing to see the witch doc.

I think they've done great things with what they've shown of the WD and of course people will be upset the necro is gone, but I think in the long run it'll turn out better. They said in that panel video that the necro didn't really need any improvements to something a long the lines ie : he was a very very well built class that's quite hard to addon to and innovate with as a single class in D3. That's my inerpertation of it, they definatly would've changed the necro if he came back and he wouldn't be the same old necro everyone fell in love with. Remember that.

New to the forums, but going to contribute with a lengthy piece, read or don't read!

As someone posted earlier in this thread about the artwork video showing off some very suspiciously looking characters after they showcase several concepts of barbarian armor. Though quickly to address something I've noticed during the presentation game play video after they show off horrify they call the witch doctor the master of fire as he throws around his firebombs. I'd really think this suggests you won't be getting a plain sorc with a fire tree, clearly if they label someone else as the master of an element? Coupled with the fact that during one of the panels I forget which, they say they've added in a new damage type "arcane" This could easily replace the normal sorcerer fire tree and leave them to have lightning and ice as the others. While this isn't a clear gauge at what the new classes might be, it could defiantly be some insight as to what that mage archetype will ensue.

Moving on to the artwork video first being a very druidic / ranger type look with a bear cap, wielding a snake while also having dual wield weapons sheathed on either side. This to me seems to hint at another hybrid class as it seems the WD is with being able to summon, master of fire & his masks. They've taken traits from a few classes especially the necro and combined them with the fire element of the sorc. I take this as a template for believing that the image of the druid/nature type character would be a druid/amazon hybrid. Which could easily be renamed as to be a druid/ranger hybrid. They are clearly nature driven, or at least animal driven which means they could use shape shifting to excel at melee, while using traps / ranged attacks in your normal form. So they are a mix of assassin, druid, amazon while still being a fleshed out class in their own right and also filling the gap of that 'dexterity' based class.

After that, either one or two slides ahead there is a fat man wearing monk beads, a blue garment and a staff on his back. He could be once again be a main story driven character, or this could simply be another class that they've hinted at. He looks rather 'priesty' to me, but don't take this as a simple healing archetype as that simply will never come to pass in diablo, even if it is based off co-op. The theme of d3 is something to do with the heavens, this might rally priests to come and fight. Think of him with paladin aura's, offensively based magic off holy damage or even lightning damage, while still retaining some kind of melee abilities from a monk-esque type character. I think maybe the paladin is a bit tried and true, while he was a great class in d2, so was the necromancer so I think they will definitely twist at least a few of the 7 from d2lod into new and interesting combo's to start off with a strong lineup for d3 at release.

They will definitely have some sort of solid caster, but I still think they will twist another gameplay element into them as to give them the option of not being a sole element caster. They will definitely have an arcane tree though! Theorycraft away!
