why does everyone want to play this game when its night time 24/7 and is always raining.

Agreed. Also, in the gamespot interview, the developer said that the previous diablo games were gothic, but not colorful, and they wanted to try to keep the gothic feel while adding color. He also said they wanted to use dark as an emotion rather than color or art choice.

ALSO: He says it took a long time to get to where they are now because they changed the art direction at least 3 times. Why do you guys complain so much? If this becomes like starcraft: ghost, im personally going to kill every one of you who signed that petition.

For a reasoning human being, its undeniable that the tetris inventory in Diablo definitively added depth to the game. Whether you consciously understood it or not, you enjoyed playing Diablo because of its implications.

I'm not saying they have to do it the same exact way, but I am saying that they should be sure to do it in a way that is conducive to making sure obtaining loot is more enjoyable on a deeper level.

For the fast clicker who is fighting with a bunch of friends, when they down a boss he will be able to pick up everything the boss drops with a "1 slot per item" inventory, leaving everybody else dumbfounded as to where all the loot went.

You won't get the same satisfaction of being able to laugh at the person who blindly picked up a few crappy items in a clicking fury only to get to, say... a Shako that flips up into the air to fall back down graciously at your feet for the taking, as the unfortunate furious clicker hears those three heartbreaking words "I am overburdened."

What sucks for the furious clicker is that he could have had the space but his bags weren't packed right.. but he'll be back for more; with the prize he practically tasted as it was snatched from under his nose, he'll be back.

Thats entertainment you can't buy my friends. ..err I guess we did...

Don't know if you heard, but I think they said everyone gets their own loot..

This brings up another point. If people are getting their own loot, if they aren't fighting for loot, their inventory will get filled faster with the tetris, so I can see why the developers went the way they chose.

Maybe not, but it's not just color change, just look at the first page. They are complaining over a statue. Is this what should really be focused on right now?

If you're fine with Diablo 3 being inspired from WoW, dont sign this petition : http://www.petitiononline.com/d3art/petition.html

If you fear change and innovation, SIGN THAT PETITION. How about we word it that way. You'd rather make them scrap 3-4 years work of graphics that look fine so that say: "Yay, screw those WoW fanboys, this is diablo"!?

No it won't kill the game, but it won't be the same game anymore. Can you understand the difference, I think you can't.

This pretty line much describes what he's fighting for. Diablo 2 is 8 years ago, Diablo 3 =/= Diablo 2. It's time for improvements, it's time to innovate, get over it. I'd rather be able to pick up all my items and keep fighting (they planned this i.e. the health orbs/globe drop thing) than to stop after every boss fight to freakin rearrange my inventory so everything can fit..

It's just annoying that 2 days after it's release, people are actually bitching about it. Geez, they said the game is coming and they said they wanted to encorporate a gothic feel to it WHILE USING COLORS, let them do their thing, you dont have to shove your opinions down their throat. We dont even know how far they are in the game yet, they are still working on it, so give them a chance.

"SORRY BLIZZARD, IT'S OUR GAME AND YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG, FIX IT NAO!!" <-- example of what's happening

Guys, i just want you to know, that thanks to your bitching, if they decide to change shit, the game is gonna take longer to develop. I could care less about the gothic darker feel, the gameplay is all that matters..

edit (2 mins later): but then again, i can sympathize with you because if a game is ugly, no matter how good it is, it wont help the fact that it is ugly. (not that d3 looks ugly). The thing is that its been 8 YEARS! You guys are trying to extend the time it takes knowing that blizzard is notorious for being late?

Yeah, but then again, you could also focus more on the fact that he was the main villain of the original Diablo yet he was overshadowed by the other villians sometimes (Lazarus or the Butcher)

Now that I think about it, I dont remember ever seeing Baal and Mephisto in the first Diablo. Were they there? I might replay it since I cant find my damn cd keys.

I hope we learn more about Diablo in this game.. Has he ever spoken when in his real form? I remember him talking when he is in the wanderer, but Baal talked to the elder at Mt. Arreat before he killed him and Mephisto talked when he was with Diablo and Baal. He made that speech: "you are the harbringer of our return, etc".

Basically, what I'm saying, Diablo is the main villian, lots of stuff happen to him (being killed twice) but he doesnt really DO anything important unless you count destroying tristram.. twice

5/5 seems like a broken answer. The game is uncompleted and it's like say "It's so awesome I'd take it as a completely broken game!" but then in retrospect, playing that broken game would be so dull and boring as it's not even close to finished, it's like a demo that it should technically be around 1/5.

Anyways, I voted 3/5 because technically I believe 4/5 is the logical highpoint, and I think there is room for improvement.

Wrong, 5/5 means that you like everything you've seen so far, not that you'd take the game right now. Notice how it says ratings of D3 SO FAR?

I love everything i've seen so far. Some things could be improved on, but right now, there's nothing I hate and the only thing we know about the game is what we saw in the 20 minute video. We dont know anything about items or trading.

What are the chances Blizzard is reading all your complaints here instead of working? They said they are trying to bring back the Diablo feeling so I'd be surprised if they didn't at least put the dark atmosphere in the right places. You're complaining about the darkness, yet Act 1 of D2 didnt really have alot of dark colors unless it got dark or you went into a tunnel. At best, for me, D2 color's can be described as monotone and it just seemed dark because they really didnt use bright colors and it just kind of annoyed me after a while seeing the same colors over and over again. So what if it does look a little WoWish, at least they ARE updating the graphics.

So stop being a little griefer and just wait, you can bitch and complain about it not being dark if or when they show a dungeon that doesnt have the right atmosphere. They arent even finished with the game for god's sakes.
