As I said, there are two conflicts: Good vs Evil, or Both vs Both (As in the WoW confilct - Neither side is good or evil).

If a game can't package that as new in their story, they've already failed.

Blizzard never cancels games. They postpone them over and over again until they're ready.

WoW is a pefect example. They postponed initial release from 2002 to 2004.

Bah. We don't need a Starcraft 2, we need a Galaxy of Starcraft. =P

Boy, those are some people with too much time on their hands.

No, they'd put it on consoles to make more money.

There are good cliches and there are bad cliches.

Good cliche: Storyline follows something cliche, but the gameplay is good and allows you to see past that. Examples: Diablo, ToS.

Bad cliche: Great storyline, but you've seen the gameplay way too many times. Examples: Most FPSs, stealth games (Splinter Cell excluded, they rock).

That's my personal preference though. And, to tell the truth, since games are usually based on some type of confilct, there are only two options: Good vs Evil, or Could be both vs Could be both.

So, then why did you agree with a guy earlier today in saying Ghost tanked? Hardly sounds like an outright success.

And there -is- no way it can compare to WoW. They're two different games. That's like saying Super Smash Bros sucks compared to Super Mario Bros: Two different games, one publisher.

EDIT: To clarify, unless D3 is an MMO, it won't be nearly as successful, which is generally how one derives a game as being good, though not in every case.
