They don't need to say it.
If you're announcing a new product as you're about to release another, people are going to get souped for the new one (Consumers like new stuff; That's why each and every EA Sports game is the same with a different name on it) and ignore the other title.

WoW is a pefect example. They postponed initial release from 2002 to 2004. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

To those of you who say "I won't pay for 'x' reason":
Pay-to-play games, are, first off, not the same game as when you bought it. WoW has been through 12 patches in almost 2 years of release. The game is far from the same. The game content is about to go up by 75% - Sure, pay for the expansion.
But here's the clincher:
What would you rather do, pay $50 a game that entertains you for two weeks, many times, or pay $15 a month for a rapidly expanding game that one could use an excuse to not go outside?
Your choice, really. I'll stick with my $15 a month option. You can go ahead and spend $200 a month buying games I pay $20 for to rent.

I'd pay for WoW over buying Diablo 2 once any day.

Blizzard doesn't need to make their own VoiP server.

Actually, now that I think of it, many events that further the storyline are a once-per-server event.
WoW can be massively multiplayer, but there's a humongous solo element to the game. Prior to and even after 60, you spend the majority of your time soloing.

Yes, because WoW is money. All the Diablos combined (All sales over all years) don't get near the profit figures WoW saw in one year. I think that's a good indicator of success, no?
We'll get Diablo 3 when it's ready, not a second sooner. Blizzard does know what they're doing.

OK, first for grammatical fixing:
"WoW totally sucks!"
Second, There are a good 6 million+ people who'd disagree with the minority of people who say otherwise. Face it folks, this forum has maybe 30-40 people max that say WoW is a bad game.
Third, I like pie.

As they say in the Blizz forums, QFT.
I've had a great time in WoW because hackers are siwftly dealt with (We actually had one banned out in the middle of a WSG match once).

Nope, it added on a good 200-300%.

D1 and D2 were hacked to hell. OK, considering the context, hacked to heaven.
You get the idea.
