since the vid is a very early version of the game, i wouldn't recommend to look at it as reference.

It is a demonstration, and might as well try to analyze as much out of it as you can. Yes, I know it's early, but to not at least try to gain some knowledge on how the game is going to work out of the little info we get is just being ignorant.

Ya.. Kind of a cool concept, but I don't think that will be widely accepted as how XP is gained.

posted a message on How XP is gained.
After watching the video again, I began to wonder how XP is gained in Diablo 3. It doesn't seem like XP is gained for every mob you kill, but instead is gained at certain "points" in the dungeon... Like at the beginning it was when different waves of ghouls were complete, and then later on it seemed to happen at random times. Might just be how the demo works, but I was wondering it it's going to be different than d2?...

    Any ideas?

Off course, i too got here only by accident, looking for info on D3. But why should the opinions of those not registered vastly differ from the ones in this forum? Even if this forum is not representative, to what amount will the 57% boil down then? 40%? 30%? 20%? No one really knows, but it sure is a number that is worth having in mind during the further development. After all, the poll was intended to get community feedback and the results have been passed on...

Because this is a Diablofans forums, and if some of the most avid fans can only muster up ~15% more votes in changing the art direction, then I can't imagine that the whole customer base of people who aren't true fans would have the same views.

Look for the Blade 2 one on Page 3 in there. That's the closest one to the new one. Or if you wanted the old school one, find the Diablo one, think it's on the first page.

Well, perhaps you like the poll on this forum better: http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10294

A solid... hmmm... 57% percent don't agree with the current art direction. Projected to the whole customer base this is... let me think... a LOT more than 45000. :P

But i guess all the haters have written bot scripts that register on this forum, vote in the poll and afterwards start discussions on the art direction topic. :D

Did you really just say that the poll on these forums projects the whole customer base... :D

You do realize that if you have no problem with the direction of the game, you don't need to project your opinion, because it's fine the way it is. And you also can't assume that everyone that is going to be buying the game even registers on forums, because truthfully, they are the people who make up the majority.

posted a message on Diablo Petition = Botters.
As was said before, the petition already made it's point by bringing it to the attention of Blizzard (as if they didn't already know) and they know what people are thinking. It doesn't matter if 1,000,000 people sign it, or 10,000, the fact that it is now brought to their attention, and has some of the media reporting on it is all they need to know.

So go ahead and bot the petition or sign it multiple times, I hope it makes you feel better that you aren't doing anything productive except wasting your time.

I think it's pretty stupid that a few people (in comparison) are causing the "media" to throw something that is quite small of a problem out of proportion. But I guess that is what the media is best at... Taking something that very few people actually care about and making it seem like it's something that everyone should be alert about.

One way or the other it doesn't matter to me, and truthfully I think the new style will be better. Because I can be spending more time actually playing the game, then messing around in my inventory. And that's what a game should be like...

    Arbedark or Variel most likely.

However I will spend a while grabbing all the unoriginal names I can; Kratos, Me, Noob, God etc. Always nice to be able to trade them away at a later date :D

Can't forget the ever popular Sephiroth. Or Aragorn... or.. well the list is so long.
