Um, that's great and I think 95% of us on the board would agree with you, but has there been any mention by Blizzard that they're implementing soulbound items (other than quest items)?
I mean, I think adding hordes of pink flamingos would ruin the game too, but if there's no indication of them, why bother mentioning it?
Just a thought, and it may be too awkward, but what about the following:
All skills points get refunded when you first unlock nightmare, and again when you first unlock hell, for each character. So an auto-respec at those two times. No saving them up. And no respec for beating hell mode.
I was a big fan of no respecs in D2, but it did penalize people who were on their first playthrough or two. This would allow for respecs for those at the levels when your spec seems to matter a bit more, but wouldn't allow high level players to just change things on the fly. Just an idea.
"Morda, Vespa, Gaio, Inumino" - Any of the D1 characters opening the tomb to the boss in Hellfire (was originally a set of unsed soundfile in the .mpq file, but those Sierra guys are shrewd).
graphics are big part of a game, saying the contrary is being hypocrite
Actually, saying the contrary is only being hypocritical if you do in fact believe that graphics are important. The meaning of hypocritical is acting contrary to your own beliefs.
Interesting details. They somehow made the barb more complicated with stamina and fury. Hope its not like the Rage warriors use in WoW.
Well, the orb on the right for the barb is stamina, but we haven't seen any visual indication of fury. Is it possible that fury is just what they used to call it, and haven't updated all the tool tips?
"and so it begins" - druid (at the very beginning of the game)
Ah, the voice of Michael Bell, my favorite voice actor. He also did the necro, Medivh/The Prophet in Warcraft 3, and Raziel from the Soul Reaver games. I really hope they bring him back, he's got such a dark and creepy voice.
Of course paypayaso, but a lot of crybabies want the art direction to change. Does anyone remember STARCRAFT GHOST! It's definitely possible with D3.
I don't recall any petitions that crippled Starcraft: Ghost's production. As far as I can tell, it was their fallout out with Nihilistic that caused them to start over. By the time they got the project running well again, the lifetime was almost up for the xbox, gamecube, and ps2 (tho the ps2 lasted longer than was predicted at the time). Their choices were pretty much to scrap it, or start over *again*.
I want to see Wirt again. He's lost two legs (I think), but I'm sure he could have escaped Tristram with somebody, then became a successful merchant. Old Wirt with wooden legs would be cool.
Excuse me for my ignorance as I have never played WoW, but is that game heavily hacked with dupes and the likes?
No dupes, in fact the only hack I can think of that has been around in WoW is the speedhack. Well, there have been bots too, but that's a little different.
People have a hard time letting go of largely inconsequential characters. I know we saw Adria in Cain's journal, but why can't you all just let characters die sometimes. Why is it not acceptable that she was merely slaughtered with everyone else at Tristram? Characters are often more interesting when they're killed off anyway. In fact, I even think they're milking Cain's character a bit too much.
Well, they told us we'd see lot of characters from Diablo and Diablo 2, and given that a lot of the characters from the first are confirmed dead, that doesn't leave many others.
How did map hack ruin the game anymore than restarting a game in Single-player? This isn't an RTS people, so other people map hacking doesn't really effect you unless you are heavy into pvp, or like to do runs without "smelling the roses" so to speak.
Also, there most definately will be.. So get used to.. All games are hacked, especially the popular ones.
Well, as mentioned above, it gave advantages in pvp, and would obviously make the ladder competition unbalanced.

We looted his corpse in Tristram. He's dead.

Hellfire wasn't made by Blizzard, so any lore present in it isn't canon. Not to say it couldn't be done, but I don't think it particularly likely.

Heh, it really was 'warcraft in space' at that point.
