So you want two entirely seperate art styles to be included in the same game? Also, what makes color "Softcore", have you not read anything or listened to any of the developers? They have well justified the use of vibrancy in Diablo 3 and the sooner people start to catch on that Dark =/= Horror, then the better of we'll be. How about this, we have:

Normal: Monsters easy to kill, good training ground for noobs
Nightmare: Moderate skill level, everything is beefed up to match characte level, loot improves
Hell: "Everything is hard as f***", loot is most rewarding here.

Wow, that's been a winning formula for quite some time now and there has never been a complaint about it.
Do you even know what is Softcore and Hardcore in Diablo? Art style fix that involves only fixing the color in palette the already determined way is the easiest fix ever for a computer game.

How is it realistic? It's NOT economical.

You are asking Blizzard to make two games. I'd rather they devote whatever additional resources and time that they have to creating a good PvP system instead of catering to your whimsical suggestions.
Not a 2 games. Wow, just wow. Twitched color settings and the allowance of free PvP on Hardcore (while on softcore PvP wont start until the player accepted it in the hostile option).

    Your proposal is unrealistic.
Very realistic, what is hard about that. Everyone will get what they want this way.

It is very simple actually, this will cover the interests of both sides, the Blizzard's and the current complainers'.

    1. Make Softcore mode - PK is off wow style|| Default difficulty monsters and bosses|| Palette just like in trailer.

    2. Make Hardcore mode - PK is on.. D2 style || Much tougher monsters and bosses.. || Different grittier palette with a corrosion (silent hill) touch, exactly the same way as it is in That pic.

Maybe also add the cheaper, alternative music tracks for Hardcore or both modes with the use of classic brilliant ones, like this one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2evIg-aYw8 . To swicth the mood and to help D3 to be a deeper game with more variety without much effort.

If you have never played Diablo before - Hardcore mode is the mode when a character has only 1 life, if he dies once, the character and everything that he had in his inventory are lost forever.

Some people are playing Diablo and having fun at that, Softcore suits them well. Some people like me are living in Diablo and willing to witness all the sides, death of character, betrayal, adrenaline and finishing the play with the pleasure of realising that you managed to survive with character you care about today. This is the way D2 HC was. If they are to implement this the game will not be good only for one category of players.

    http://blizzardguru.com/2008/07/diablo-3-player-killing-is-out-pvp-is-in/

Blizz are willing to entirely please only the noob, the casual side of gamers, which is the majority. It is very obvious with current art direction, wow blur and 3D models, slow gaming pace and reduction of the PVP freedom. They have an easy task since they already have the big WoW community to support and play any of their game, especially when they see a similar looking game.

But you can pretty much satisfy both sides of gamers, the new and the old one. I myself will be happy with the game were the Hardcore and Softcore modes be different the way it is proposed. And the community of players, that are willing to play and have fun will be fully satisfied with Softcore, as no noob or fun and fairness wanting person played HC in D2 for a long period of time.

What to you think about that?

Edit: Revamped text a bit so it's easy to figure out.

Proper massive feedback works 90% of the time. It worked for starcrafters, they complained and in result Blizzard made SC2 better by fixing shitty graphics style.

posted a message on NEW video. Compares D1,D2,D3 gameplay
They showed a boring single player parts of D2 gameplay. I like how they use walk instead of run in D2 from time to time and turned up volume for that epic Lotr like music i dont like in the slightest in D3.

Nothing says better about the game than this pic. No video ever is going to be more informative than this pic.

Yeas a lot of people are unhappy with D3 looks. This is not Diablo game, no way. They should never call it Diablo and start another games series instead, because with cartoony graphics aimed to please dumb little kids and wow players (wow and warcraft players already have their games with cartoony look like that, maybe they should aim for people who is not into wow instead) this does not feel like diablo game in the slightest. They claim they want to combine colorful cartoony wow graphics with some emotional gothic feeling, this is bulls**t to excuse their decision to use wow style graphics, they think it was this graphics style that made wow so popular and this graphics style is a goldmine, which is not true, would wow look different, it would still be as huge.

Game is also slow, so lazy kids wont be scared away, i hate it right now, I bet there will no PK, the huge part of D2, just because they dont want to scare away casual gamers... like great unique feature will scare away significant amount of players...

Send it to blizzard, stop complaining and do something about it.
Good idea, i will definitely do that. But internet forums are made so you can spread your opinions/concerns, maybe someone else sees it and decides to ask Blizzard about it. Even if it is just one extra guy, it is good enough.

    Hi.

This part of your post lets me know that you suck, and either A. Didn't watch the gameplay videos, or B. Are an idiot.

I'll take a combination of both. Please see your way out of the site. :cute:
The same can be said about you with an addition of low age with the way you make insults. What do you think about this pic? Dont forget to scroll image to the right a little bit.

How do you know i'm wrong on many points, if you stopped reading right away. I think wow-ish looks is pretty accurate description of what i saw in witch doctor footage.

I have some worries about D3. This game is just so important to me i can't ignore this right now and move forward.

First of all the happy wow-ish, wc3-ish looking world, happy forest with cute squarish trees, grass and everything. It is just wrong on so many levels. But more than anything, that is shoking to me is decline in pace and ingame speed. I was expecting D3 to be slower after what happened for example to starcraft in warcraft 3, what happened to quake 3 in doom 3 and quake 4. Nowadays prettier graphics - slower gameplay, and problem is never in hardware, but in games.

If you guys didn't play Diablo 2 for a while, for years maybe, you may forget how mindblowingly fast it was, i was a very devoted D2 player and yet after a 2 years break, when i installed D2 again i was shoked by how insane speed and pace in this game is compared to all the newer games both on PC and consoles, and that is why D2 was so good. Now in D3 i see just another game that has nothing besides looks and sound effects.

Please, guys, if you have some footage of powered up D3 character in good boots, faster run stuff, teleports in action, please post the link in this thread. I hate to be negative about anything, especially about something i really care about... Does anyone else have the same feelings? Did the Blizzard ever comment on this matter?
