Diablo 3 looks like trash with PvP nerfed and totally unaproppriate graphics. And no i dont think Blizzard know what they are doing, it wasnt them who created D1&2, by the looks of it they just want to make a game that sells exploiting the famous title, i doubt they want to play the game they are developing. It wont be a masterpiece this way.
I love the new graphics now! What I have come to realise is, they are 100000 better than the shitty, yes shitty diablo 2 graphics already, and 3d simply calls you to try all kinds of cool new elements in the graphics, so I'm not against clear improvement.
Also, the Diablo 3 artstyle does not strike me as too similar with Warcraft, I do find it far, far more realistic, and to a satisfactory extent.
What is good and new about the OLD Warcraft 3/WoW looks? What are you 15 years old?
Softcore/hardcore should have nothing to do with how the game looks.
If there is a change in how gritty the game looks, it should be a graphic setting.
And don't forget, hell difficulty is going to look wicked
Just a switch in the graphic settings is a good solution for the problem. But maybe it will require few object replacements and adding thematical stuff like bodies on the crosses in the dungeons. Just a switch in graphical settings is a very good way, i will be happy if they will work it into the game. Also the music setting is welcome as well.
This idea is not that bad. There will be hacks on the game eventually and map hack will be the first one to arrive if Blizzard doesn't do something about it.

PK was great fun for me, i've never killed a single person though and i've played only on HC. It is about fear and adrenaline all the time, about right decisions and proper interaction with other players, about feeling of pleasure finishing your game session with realising that you managed to survive with your main characters today. And should i say, that the friendship was so much more to it in such environment, the bond are so much stronger.
PK makes it possible to live in the game! And the guys that are making the game right now, they simply do not know it.
Blizz are willing to entirely please only the noob, the casual side of gamers, which is the majority. It is very obvious with current art direction, wow blur and 3D models, slow gaming pace and reducing the freedom of the PVP. They have an easy task since they already have the big WoW community to support and play any of their game, especially when they see a similar looking game.
But you can pretty much satisfy both sides of gamers, the new and the old one. I myself will be happy with the game were the Hardcore and Softcore modes be different the way it is proposed. And the community of players, that are willing to play and have fun will be fully satisfied with Softcore, as no noob or fun and fairness wanting person played HC in D2 for a long period of time.
Having an unfair game where someone ganks you in hardcore mode while you're at 1/10th of your health while killing Diablo does not make for a fun game except to maybe a few douchebags.
This way you will have an absolutely fair Softcore mode. Some people are playing Diablo and having fun at that, Softcore suits them well. Some people like me are living in Diablo and willing to witness all the sides, death of character, betrayal, adrenaline and finishing the play with the pleasure of realising that you managed to survive with character you care about today. This is the way D2 HC was. If they are to implement this the game will not be only good for one category of players.
All of these people shooting your idea down can't posibly be wrong.
Of course they can. They are making to sense, there is no critique, other than that it's so hard and expensive to do for Blizzard. It is because i said it will please most people and they are trying to prove it wrong, i absolutely expected this. If Blizz make the game this way, the game will be great and it will be possible to play with adrenaline, the very thing everyone have played for on Hardcore in D2.

I dont care for softcore, make it WoW style all you want with no appropriate PvP, but i want HC in D3 to be as good as it was in D2.
