When I sat down with lead “Diablo III” designer Jay Wilson last week to talk about the team’s design choices and his thoughts on fan-altered screenshots, he told me that Morrisroe was the one who spearheaded the franchise’s design changes. Specifically, I asked who we should blame for the rainbows. Wilson said:
“If you want to blame anyone for the rainbows, you’d blame our art director Brian [Morrisroe]. Because Brian is more the person who drove the art style into where it is. But it didn’t really come directly from him. What he brought to the art team was concepts and ideas — the idea of contrast, the idea of using color more, the idea of going for a more stylized look. Because what we were looking at before was more photo-realistic. Really trying to get something that looks like a painting — that was his goal. But the actual result of that came from the art team. And a lot of the environment guys, and some of the texture artists, they’ve all kind of chipped in to try and get the feel of something that was very unique.”
When I read this I thought It's good that he Quit, or as I believe got sacked and was told to say he leave on his own account. Blizzard doesn't like to show weakness, they wanna look firm in their decisions without getting swayed by the fans outcry.
Who in his right mind leaves Blizz in the middle of such major project to build his own company with the state of the market today. Couldn't he wait some more? who knows, They should interview him and not Blizz about it, maybe he'll spill the beans.
And If he leaves in the middle it's not going to help his resume :rolleyes:
Anyway ppl Ignore to what he "contribute" to the art as stated above. It can't be bad to get new perspective to stuff after all his good doings /sarcastic off
Why not elevate someone within Blizzard to the job if it's not a major role still? If the art direction is completely done with why not to...? The answer I vote for that it's not over & done with, expect some changes.

WoW is based on sets in the end game as far as I remember whoever didn't put certain set on was called a noob. sets are very specific and their properties were set in stone (like d2 it was taken from there after all).
But in d2 and I think at the end game of d3 uniques or some form of higher items will be the best of the best, and their properties will be randomized.
I think there will be item for item trade at end game since everyone will want the randomized %20 more crit item (as example) and it will be too much rare to simply trade it for cash...
And the economy will based on these items at the end game, in the long run.

Fell pretty short? It's an understatement, The game system system was the suckyest I saw in years, even games 10 years before didn't screw up that badly with the whole "mobs lvl with you" crap.
and how many items it had? 5 in each category? lol...sure feel like it.
And the bloody 360 ui and take you by the hand approach, every step of the way (tp to places). oh yea you could finish the game the fastest and easyest when you are under lvl 10 (cause if you do the quest in lvl 30~ they will rape your ass badly).
many more bugs that ruined the game for me, it just isn't funny.
and took them long enough to address all the problems. they should have waited longer to release a finished product! but no they are greedy mofos.
All the missleading high rating and hype from many of the gaming sites/magazines...did they play more than 15 min, I wonder, just show the gaming today is all about hype and money not truth.

Well maybe you can somehow use existing tools of other games to alter some game files (saw it actually happen in the past).
They stated there isn't gonna be editor, so all I can say is it'd better not be half assed like oblivion was made :X hehe I trust blizz much more than bethesda by far cause they don't release incomplete games.

No one tells you which currency to use, it's up to you.
Do you really think high lvls items will be sold for cash? unless cash will have really big meaning in the game, very high lvl items will be sold most likely for other item since it's uber rare.
It's better to have both options than only one. and Before you judge a system wait for more info on gold sinks.
