Hello, I understand that hydra was named in 2006. But, what if the project hydra was named first, but the people behind the splash saw that pluton has 3 moons orbiting around it and said : Omg, lets make a rune looking like a pluton and its moons.
Pluto and it's moons do not orbit like the rune depicts, if they did, they would've knocked themselves out millenia ago.
Really, if what they wanted to do was depict pluto and it's moons, drawing 3 circles and putting a moon on each one wasn't that hard to do.
Did blizzard intentionally pick the name of "Project Hydra" for the next Diablo game in referrence to Pluto, it's moons and the underworld referrences by each of their names?
Now, what could the new rune mean?
1. It's a representation of something real: for example a planet and it's moons, but two moons could not orbit a planet at the same distance. The second thing that comes to mind is an atom and it's electrons, but then you'd have 2 electrons at the first tier and 1 at the second tier. I really cannot think of anything else, so this probably isn't the case.
2. It's just a doodle without hidden meaning, like all diablo 2 and frostmourne runes are. If this is the case then we will never break it.
3. It's a graphical representation of something abstract: like for example the number 112, or a two tiered system of... pricing (I'm just making this up).

You should have reduced the blue and green channels to see if there was a diablo hidden beneath. You can do that IRL, right?

About 8 and a half.
Then it's 24 hours of pixel hunting, rune finding, face discovery, color-channel altering, ...

Seriously, you could take any 4 dots and draw a star that goes through each of them.

Excellent, so can we stop talking about the lost vikings rune now?

Actually, the angles on the rune do not match those on the lost vikings image.
I guess i could draw 4 dots randomly placed in mspaint and you would say it's a reference to lost vikings.

Because you photoshopped it from a photo 20 pages back?

Taking into account that Hydra got it's name in 2006 (http://www.universetoday.com/2008/02/26/plutos-moons-nix-and-hydra-may-have-been-orphaned-from-solar-orbit/) and project Hydra had already started when Blizzard North dissolved (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blizzard_North) I'd say it's completely irrelevant.

So I think it's option 3, what do you guys think?
