I thought about starting up a little operation to keep paying for school... As long as you guys are complaining about stuff in DIII, I could make t-shirts! I didn't go through with it because I'm sure it's the right of the DIII team to make fun of the community, not mine.
So far:
- Art debacle
- Now auto stats t-shirt!
I'm sure more issues will arise and there will be the perfect t-shirt for the occasion.

Or even more interesting:
going back to find that as a result of failing "quest x" ... a town is burned down, people slaughtered, and overrun with demons, etc! This would definitely add to the creepy/fearful feeling we'll hopefully all get from the game. -
Oct 2, 2008d3nick posted a message on BlizzCon -- Submit your questionsIs is possible to move to previous world locations in Diablo III, even though your player character has progressed to another act? Or is one limited to staying within the zone the act is focused on?Posted in: News
For example:
- I just completed A1, A2. In A3 (assuming there is one), can/will a player visit A1 again in addition to being able to access a new area? -

This would mean that some how, his camera would have to some how place him inside the game.

Addendum by Medievaldragon: Mockery replied about the link removal here.

The idea is merely trying to provide you, who likes the graphics, the option to keep them the way they are.
It also provides for someone who doesn't like them to tweak them. Thats it.
And also, if you read the link about HLSL I posted, you will see that a shader can be applied ( AND ISOLATED ) to specific regions, therefor it wouldn't necessarily affect spell casting particles / effects.

Why not request / change your petition for an option that is essentially a combination of a a grain filter, brightness adjustment, contrast adjustment, or perhaps politely ask Blizzard to write you guys a HLSL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Level_Shader_Language) Shader you can turn off and on at your will?
This would not be a solution for the "smiley griffin" or lack of polygons in some of the models and architecture (which is probably why Blizzard is hiring a "*3D Environment Artist" - http://www.blizzard.com/us/jobopp/), but it would at least give you the ambiance you want or desire. This would also have the effect of making you not focus so hard on the detail -- thus not noticing the smiley griffin
Hopefully taking this approach will get everybody what they want!
Comments / Feedback are welcome.
Edit: Blizzard "stated" their standpoint on the graphics. Thanks Ivaron.

It would have been immediately after he destroyed the world stone if they did enforce some sort of punishment, not twenty years later... Would make for an interesting story, though.

You can notice the same use of color from a screen shot of the cinematic trailer right after it hits the church. Perhaps these concept art are to depict Tyreal "rising from the ground" ...
If you look, they are both set in a cathedral style setting ... Likely, old Tristram's cathedral.
BUT the MOST convincing evidence of this to me is the following:
This is the background setting for the main page, and on the main page, Tyreal is standing in front of this image.
The simple chandelier in the photo on the main page also gives me the idea that it could be Tristram. Yes, the chandelier is different in the concept art, but I think since it's an early piece of art that it might have been decided that the chandelier in the artwork was too "grand" for Tristram.

Which aspects (besides the obvious ones pertaining to the hack-n-slash style of diablo) have NOT been taken from other games, and why?
