Um, all LoD servers are free to use. Go play on the standard Battle.net ones. If you don't have a legit copy of the game, don't be a cheapskate! Go buy one, it's like ?20 or less (or whatever that is in Argentina), seriously, go get a paper round or something and save up for a couple of weeks. If you start tomorrow you should be able to get D2 and LoD before the ladder reset.
My highest ever toon is a level 77 orb sorc. This was done in single player with no help from guides. I made some stupid mistakes along the way. Despite this i managed to complete the whole game right up to and including hell level baal.
Thanks for the fast reply. Ultimately, so far I've been pretty useless about it all and have floundered around trying to find an "easy" way to sort this out.
I'm currently redownloading my battle.net version of the expansion and hoping I can change the cd key through that. Aside from that, I can try hacking apart my D2 install on my girlfriend's computer in the hope it would force a reinstall. Really don't want to have to start faffing about with CD drives and whatnot.
I've recently got the munchies for some D2 LoD action again and fancy a few games with my girlfriend. I've got my copy set up, patched and ready on my rig, but I've run into issues with hers.
The D2 install on hers is fine with a standard 16digit key. But the LoD install has a 16 digit key on it for some reason, despite the version she's using being a download from battle.net - meaning it's supposed to have a 26 digit key. I've been unable to find any cd key changer utilities that let me put in a 26 digit key, is there any way to do this?
Or, should I redownload the LoD expansion from battle.net again and try to re-install over the existing installation and hope I can use the 26 digit key that way? Unfortunately, due to hard drive demands she doesn't have a CD drive in her PC atm, I'd rather not have to use my D2 CD and therefore hook up her CD drive again just for a D2 reinstall. I'm also not a fan of downloading a D2 image from pirate sources etc.

Any ideas, anyone?
