While I think quinn has some helpful builds, please don't tell me this is the top build right now because he's won a popularity contest. There's no way that build can reach 50 like he claims unless maybe you're gems are already at 50 and you've maxed out your paragon points in the offensive tab.
Please tell me that it's something other than the LTK / cold EP being touted as GR50 capable. I've been running it with some very nice gear and it's total BS. I hope there's something better out there that I'm missing.
I'm sorry but I want to be sure we're on the same page before I use a gift. I see a major disparity between the Sparker and the Ancient Devastator in dmg. Are you saying that it's not even close, that a non-ancient Sparker is the way to go? I'm currently over 90% fire increase, 25.2% IAS, 50% cc and 501% cd, but I do not have many ancient items yet on my wiz (I believe only 3 total including the Devastator) so my Int might not be high enough to make this work.
Here are the stats for both items:
Serpent Sparker
2291.5
1.40 attacks per sec
1420-1854 damage
+1098-1328 fire dmg
+10% (rolled)
+711 int
10% resource cost reduction
(no socket yet - debating on using gift)
Devastator
2872.3
1.20 attacks per sec
2062-2725 damage
+1559-1892 fire dmg
18% fire
+10% (rolled)
+982 int
socket (gifted)
I'm also using TnT gloves (50% boost to pets), Toxin gem, Pain Enhancer, and Enforcer gem. Currently, i'm at 1.50 attacks per second with the Devastator. My sheet dps (unbuffed) is 1.3m and I'm running Blizzard and Mammoth Hyrdra.
Just landed one and not sure if it's useless or worth using instead of my non-ancient torch. It's rolled nicely with life per spirit so figured I'd ask.
Thanks for the response. I'm thinking the same thing, but I can't tell if it's going to be worth it and how bad it will be playing with the increased spirit cost. I've got a good set of ancient Reaper's and an ok set of ancient Strong Arm's (4.5cc and 16% physical - one of these would need to be re-rolled).
Here's my current incense staff stats:
3729.9
1.15 aps
2620-3876 damage
+1379-1679 poison
+10% damage
+1019 dex
+777 life per spirit
25% increase WOL damage
+ experience
reduce spirit cost of WOL 47%
Just to give you a point of reference, my sheet dps with my current gear and build is 1.45m. Thanks again for your input.
I've been using an incense torch (non-ancient) and trying to find an ancient version without any luck yet. However I did come across this ancient Balance. Not sure what to do with it, as it has some interesting stats. Nothing has been re-rolled:
4168.9
1.15 attacks per second
2951-4299 damage
+1764-2173 holy
+7% damage
+1276 dex
+12% exploding palm damage
17,116 life after kill
+28 max spirit
Currently running Wave of Light - lightning build (2 Aughilds, 3 SWK, 3 Innas, crudest boots). I've got a lot of ancient armor, including a near perfect SWK ammy and SOJ. My other ancient armor is good but not perfect. I think I've got 3 non-ancient armor pieces, which are all very good. So, all in all, I'm really optimized well for this build - which makes this staff a bit of a problem for me.
In addition to what I'm wearing, have a myriad of random ancient armor pieces and also just got a nice non ancient WH belt today. Is there a way i can alter my build to fit this staff in? My goal is to run higher GR (solo and group). I have 3 gifts left but also have 3 other toons that I'd like to play. I'd rather not waste a gift unless I know I have something great that can't be ignored.
Thanks for the responses. I was asking about these in reference to GR as I noticed a leader on the board with a fire build and I always thought of it as you mention here - a rift build for clearing. Is it really viable for RG's or could it just be that he ran a GR and got by based on the strength of his gem levels?
All skills havin a 100% proc rate. If i remember correctly the skills who trigger the decoy are: Palm, WoL, LTK, TR and CS.
Awesome, thank you very much for your responses. This gives us so much more flexibility. Were there any surprises with the patch that you did not expect too see or that changed from what was last implemented on the PTR? I'm at the office so I can't check it myself yet.
Lastly, do you recommend playing Season 2 as opposed to just jumping back in and playing my current character? I personally did not see enough with Season 1 to warrant my participation. However if it's worth it, I'll suck it up and do it. I'm just not a big fan of starting over from scratch unless the rewards will be so significant to the class that they shouldn't be ignored.
When the 2.1.2 patch goes live this wont be viable anymore bcuz of the changes to swk set.
One question I had about the changes - I assume that you're just going to be running with a lot of the same skills aside from incorporating in Tempest Rush and likely losing SW. I didn't play on the PTR at all, but have read about the data mining that was done to reveal legendary gems going into weapons potentially and new gems as well. That being said, it's hard for me to see them replacing the need for Desert Shroud and the high reliance on CDR, or is that out the window now too?
Also, does anyone have any idea on what the proc rates will be for the clones based on what they saw in the PTR?
I've been using this build and find it superior to popular variant using the Eye of Peshkov. Currently my gems are 40, 40, and 41 and I've hit a bit of a wall playing pubs.
I'm currently running a SWK Ammy, Leoric's, SOJ, and Vigilante Belt for my variants. I've got a good balance on my CC/CD from my rings, 1k AR. 65% CDR. What would my best option be for replacing Harmony in a 4 man group? - Unity, Relentless Assault, or Determination?
