    posted a message on Fresh 70 monk, spending the first 10k shards?
    Noob monk question here but I have tried to first research it:– it just seems that with 2.1 looming the monk class seems in a massive state of change so 2.06 gearing guides might not apply.

    I’m planning on feeding all my blood shards to my monk to start getting it geared from scratch. I won’t actually play the monk until it has a strong viable set; so it won’t be until patch 2.1. I have enough mats to spam craft any slot if that’s optimal so I don’t need to gamble for any slots that are best left to crafted gear (and I understand Monks uniquely do have a lot of BiS crafted gear). RoRG is covered already. I run T6, etc. with enough other monks friends and clanmates (while on my non-monk toons) so it’s likely that the “easier” optimal pieces will get handed down to me once I know what my shopping list should be. With RiF I hope to be able to feed my monk about 10,000 shards over the next couple days.

    Question is : What items in what order should I gamble, assuming I’ll only roll gear slots that take 5 shards per gamble?

    For example,
    If it were a 2.06 Jade WD I’d advise: (1) Quetz helm then (2) ToTD/ Serpent then (3) 5 pieces of Harvester
    If it were a 2.06 Pet WD I’d advise: (1) Jeram helm then T(2) &T then (3) Zuni’s (or go Zuniless and get Serpent)
    If it were a 2.06 DH I’d advise: (1) Bombadier's Rucksack then (2) whichever glove/chest/pants you want to not be Mara then (3) 5 pieces of Mara
    (Keeping in mind we’re not gambling rings, necks or weapons)

    Basically I’m looking for a similar Monk-based suggestion.
