CherubDown posted a message on Quite a few new members. One of the main reasons I like Diablofans is because I know that a lot of you guys have been here for a very, very long time, patiently waiting for D3. And I hope you continue to stick around long after the game(s) are done! I want to be able to come back here in 10 years to talk about diablo 3! Kudos to you all!Posted in: General Discussion (non-Diablo) -

I despise "Oh..The books are better".....Those people can jump off a cliff for their misdeeds. I'm so tired of hearing that. It's so cliche and irrelevant. "Ya, no shit. It's a book." Some things are obviously going to be left out when the entire book has to be summed up in less than 2 hours.
Thank. You.
I don't get it. I don't get why people expect the film to be better than the book. That very rarely ever happens. The book will always be better, these fuckers need to get their heads out of their asses and realize that either they like the movie for what it is or like the book for having all the stuff that didn't make it in the movie that they hold so fucking dearly.
The only movie that I can consider better than the original text that the movie is based on is Kenneth Branagh's adaption of Hamlet. Absolutely fucking brilliant. -

Your all tripping, the items REALLY do not look that impressive, your just for lack of a better description, diablo whipped, and you would pretty much love anything they throw at you,
look REAL close at the items, they are ok ya, nothing to throw a hissy fit about, but seriously not that impressive, I know 15 year olds who can draw armor/weapons that would blow those away
Thing about these icons.... people either LOVE them, or they HATE them. Or they think they're just ok. One thing is for sure.. the hater tears are DELICIOUS. -

She's doing it to get attention. She's probably an atheist herself. You have been bamboozled sir.

However I would like to discuss your desire to make it not that gory. Why? Why would you want to make it not that gory? Why not make it over the top? Aside from the fact that you want blizz to take it. I don't see whats wrong with making people uncomfortable, especially in regards to this topic. A bit of discomfort and uneasiness would be a great thing to convey for a work being attributed to the lord of terror.

You must read this. It's amazing.
I was shown this via Zhar!

Positive: Good tonal change. Your definitely starting to understand how light creates depth and dimension.
Very good facial structure too!
Decent rendering too.
Clear light source.
You did a great job rendering shadow and light in the lower eye skin and nose region.
Negatives: The tone, fine as a blue, is however, far too bright. Through the center of the face and form, is a lot of almost white blue. I understand you're trying to show that the light source is right in her face, but there are more subtle ways to do this. Lighten the background a bit, and then darken all of her. Allll of her. By a few notches ya know? That way, you will have stronger shadows. Why is that important? Because strong hard shadows and contrast implies to the viewer that the light source is very strong. now, after you have those stronger shadows, add much smaller and more subtle strokes of that light blue. Do you see what I'm saying? I understand that the shadow can't be too dark anywhere because of the light, but if you darken everything a bit, you don't need as much of that strong blue white.
Idk whats goin on with that eye make up lol. Put some sort of light in there so it doesn't look too flat.
the lines on the lips, make them less defined. The brush is too hard for them. Hard brushes are for things like mountains and cliffs. Lips are soft with no reallly hard edged. Thnose edges are too hard on those highlights. I understand they are there, but still, they are softer.
The line that defines the length of the shoulders, aka the shoulders, is far to narrow in comparison to the size of her head. But I'm sure that wasn't a focall point in your study.
OVERALL: Really good work. You're understanding of light and how it hits a face and the anatomy of the face has certainly improved *applaud* Keep it up!

About 1 hour 30 minutes of work.

And some would say that I was being a blind faith follower or something(for the record, no I'm not religious), but it has nothing to do with that. Could God be wrong in his decisions? No, it's literally not possible. God, being the creator of existence(by most standards, at least in this instance he is), he/she/it(lol) is the ultimate standard for good and bad. If there is a such thing as good and bad, the only way it could be anything more than a mere concept that changes constantly based on perception is if it has an ultimate standard such as God.
See..this is why I have a problem with some atheists. My aunt is an atheist. And her most prolific argument is "well, I don't believe in a god that would let all this evil happen in the world and let all these people die." Why do people have this peculiar idea that they would ever be able to understand why God chose to do or not do something? And why does not understanding this, mean that there is no god(s) at all? I guess it boils down to them not understanding that God does not hav to fit in the small parameters given by the bible. Although, he does some serious ownage of people in the bible as well.
YA! That brings me to my next point. This one is mostly for Americans. Why would anybody in their right mind who has ever read the bible think that America is God's country and he protects us? That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. What would be faaaaarrr more plausible in perspective to that claim would be that God sent those airplanes into the twin towers. Why? Well, read the bible. Remember Sodom and Gamorrah? Cities with gay people, everyone was fucking in general, murder, worshiping of false gods and idols. Then take a look at America. If thats how it went down back then with those 2 cities, I'm surprised America still exists even as a land mass lol.

Look, if you could tone down the sarcasm a bit that would be wonderful. It's condescending sarcastic attitudes like this that make me want to close this thread. If you are going to discuss this, discuss it, don't bash the beliefs of others. Be mature please.
