Gonna definitely test and perhaps use this as soon as 2.1 is released - I've laid off D3 until then. Great effort!

posted a message on Damage Type of Pet Skills with Elemental Rune Applied
Can anyone confirm if the ATTACK Damage type of Zombie Dogs (with Gargantuan Dog specifically) and Gargantuan alters upon selecting Elemental Runes?

Some people state it should and that Damage type of any skill is changed from its initial type into Elemental corresponding to the chosen Rune. Is that so? And does it concern WD Pet skills particularly? If you apply Poison or Fire Runes to ZD and Gargantuan and read the tooltips, they will state that attack damage is still Physical, while the immolation/cloud is Elemental (Poison or Fire respectively).

People that support micro-transactions are the worst. Seriously, you are the reason why this industry has declined in quality over the years. Thanks for that.

I played STALKER recently with some mods and it was outstanding, checked online for the new STALKER. Cancelled for a F2P COD clone version.

KOTOR, awesome game, new game turns into awful lifeless F2P game after failing with subscription.

Plants Vs Zombies 2, entertaining until you hit the paywall and then gets grindy and annoying.

The list is very long and depressing.
Couldn't say better myself. Implement buying stuff for real money into the game and ruin it completely. I've played SWTOR myself and was leading one of the top guilds. The game was brilliant, but as EA>BioWare cared only for money, they didn't release/update anything for half a year and introduced freaking pay to win to somehow keep players who paid for sub in game and suck some more $. RIP SWTOR.

The balance should ONLY and ALWAYS be based on your in-game skill and time investment. The game world is not connected to reality somehow. You start anew and achieve everything from scratch. If you can just use your RL earnings, what's the point?

I have 300+ HOURS on my monk (vanilla time included). I love my character, I always look for ways to improve both gear and skillset. I can BARELY handle T2-T3.

I have a WD who's ONE WEEK old. I just play the way I like and build the way I feel. I enjoy the game and play it, instead of being fucked by it in the ass. I BREEZE through T5.

    Blizzard PLS.

The dogs melee damage is supposed to be fire now too, with the fire rune. The general rule is supposed to be that a rune that has an element associated with it is supposed to make everything about that ability use that elements damage (though you'll notice that hasn't always been the case for some things).

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/12880008074

The passives that add an additional dog do buff the gargantuan dog.

IMO in most cases, good legendary effects totally outweigh most damage increases. I've never used Rhen'ho but I've heard good things - I would stick with it.

Agree with you on the Wrathful garg - he's fun to use and see the massive damage he puts out, but his AI needs some work. It's much too frustrating to drop him on an elite pack, and completely ignore it because he sees an imp run in and catch his attention then dart away while he lumbers away and burns 50%+ of his duration on chasing something he can kill 30 times over in one swing. And that's not even the only issue as you mentioned. I might still use him from time to time to switch things up but don't care for it for general use.
I'm initially a long-term Monk player and I can confirm that Rune doesn't always turn skill into stated damage type entirely - at least in vast range of Monk skills. This has been changed in 2.0.5. mostly (but not completely), yet there are still skills which descriptions clearly suggest that they are part Physical and part Elemental. And so are WD skill descriptions with Zombie Dogs not being an exception. We can only guess (if somebody hasn't prooftested this yet) if the skill does become fully Elemental after all and the tooltip is just bugged or not altered properly. If it is not, it's certainly a room for improvement for all the classes.

I'm currently running in full Poison build (Rhen'ho + Addling Toads; Poison Gargantuan Dog; Poison Gargantuan; Piranhas Mutilating Wave + BBV & Jaunt) with Poison damage only on bracers and enjoying it a lot. I was playing in Fire (although I personally cannot call Rain of Toads / Piranhas + Fire Dog & Fire Gargantuan a Fire build because it's mixed) before with a higher DPS simple knife and it was boring because I only had to spam low-damaging ROT and wait until fetishes and gargs finish off elites and whiteys (whiteys were the most boring ones to wait for). Now I massacre everything with those crazy confusing toads. They even confuse bosses, which is pretty awesome! I even went up to T5, although I've only started WD about a week ago days ago and was doing T4 for the last days.

And I've come to a strong conviction that Toads is probably the only worthy attack of WD at the moment, Spiders being completely useless (enjoyed Spider Queen when levelling), Bomb and Dart being too weak.

My build and gear just in case:http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Havoc-2232/hero/43896127

I prefer to play solo but in the current state of the game, where the only two efficient ways of farming are RiFing and Lootsharing I "have to" run in groups. I have always played D3 solo BUT for rare exceptions when my friends wanted to play together.

posted a message on What makes streaming so entertaining?
I don't watch any streams but I assume that there are 2 types of streamers generally (following some patterns IRL basically):

    1. The commercial ones, who went directly for things that people like and certainly will like, who follow patterns and styles and who spread word about themselves everywhere for the purpose of gaining audience and monetizing stream or satisfying theirlust forattention and popularity ASAP.

    2. The quality, self-sufficient ones - those driven purely by their desire of self-expressing themselvesvia streamingand helping others out by sharing their experience and knowledge. Consequently these monetize their streaming activity, too but usually it's rather dictated by dire needs of survival than by commercialism as they get to spend too much time making quality streams.

I strongly recommend you to follow the second path - if you have the ardor within you - as I believe it is theonly one worthyand also the only one that will be able to survive the competition thanks to quality and uniqueness. Therefore you don't need to ask questions like 'what do people like' and 'how do I change myself so that I'm being liked', just do what you want and love and see if people are interested in it. Grow your small army of admirers that will spread the word about you.

posted a message on Fire Pet Build vs Physical Pet Build
Could anyone please clarify how exactly Fire Damage is connected to Gargantuan Dog? The rune description suggests that the dog(s) hit(s) with Physical Damage but is engulfed with flames dealing Fire Damage. With TMF you get one dog that is stronger than all of the dogs combined (one more question - does it become stronger with the passives that produce additional dogs in the pack?), but I thought it was supposed to still hit with Physical while having Fire immolation effect. So why does everyone say that it HITS hard when specced Fire if the hits are physical? Or does TMF/rune change the dog's attack to Fire as well (although the rune doesn't say so)?

I also don't really like Wrathful because he's pretty slow and only manages to land a couple of attack before disappearing. And freaking fetishes block him almost every time. So I'm mostly running with Bruiser. Although my gear is far from perfect and I've started WD only recently (yet managed to get a lot of decent pieces of equipment).

And the last question - is losing around 100k sheet damage worth switching to Rhen'ho and explosive toads? I like the ET, I have Fire bonus on bracers and it spawns fetishes quickly. But my Rhen'ho is only 2100 DPS (although with INT and socket) compared to some first-try-crafted 2500 DPS ceremonial knife. When running Ghom on time I killed him faster with 2500 DPS knife and rain of toads, but the difference was only 4 seconds. The packs of creeps are blown away like motherfuckers with the rhen'ho-ET setup though.

    18% phys > 12% paperDPS.

I havn't done the real math behind it tho, it's just my personal opinion :)
Yeah the thing is that Rzarazor already has 48% phys dmg without doombringer, so the actual gain in phys-dps is not 18%, but (1,48+0,18) / (1,48) -1 = 12,1%.

It happens to be very close to the 12% sheet dps, but even if it's 13% or 14% phys-dps, I'll take the Rhen'ho with 12% sheet dps.
    Ain't elemental damage bonuses additive?

posted a message on Would like some mouse recommendations
I have been using Deathadder mice for around 5years now. First it was Deathadder 3500, then Deathadder Black Edition, now Deathadder 2013. It's almost perfect but lacks one thing - durability. It was designed for a great feel while using palm grip, it's responsive and convenient to use. When you play games with this mouse it becomes one with your hand.

Unfortunately, I'm completely disappointed in Razer products durability after buying Deathadder Black Edition a couple of years back. That one worked fine for about 6 months, then started double-clicking. I changed it at service center for free, the new one started double-clicking after 8 months. Then I bought DA 2013 and have already changed it TWICE before a year has even passed. Thank God the warranty period is two years, but visiting service center across the whole city every 4-5 months to change your mouse is frustrating.

I love the model and the DA probably rests in the top 5 of best gaming mice ever, but I really cannot recommend it anymore (as well as any Razer mouse) as I'll be also looking for a new mouse soon. This one (THIRD DA 2013) already started to double-click sometimes.

I'd definitely NOT pick up a Razer mouse, until they realize their quality drop is too much and fix it.

Steelseries Diablo 3 mouse has guaranteed 10 000 clicks durability, but I think I heard it was designed for claw grip - correct me if I'm wrong.

Update: forgot to mention that Razer mice make you addictive to them with their ergonomics. It's just amazing how your hand and the mouse merge into a killing machine without any physical or mental discomfort. Oh, it's going to be a long search for a new mouse that could reproduce the effect.
