It will probably do more damage assuming you have equivelent Fire Pieces of Gear to your Holy Gear. One thing to consider though by going to the Fire rune for Fist of Heavens is that you lose the additional Healing from the Holy Cause Passive.
It's based off your total block chance not what is on the actual shield, and has been that was since the crusader was introduced its just a poorly worded tooltip.
Dropping Vigilant for either Holy Cause or Finery will increase your damage. Possibly look at Aughild's set for Shoulders, Helm, Bracers to increase dmg against elites and add surviveability until you get an Andariels.
Only thing that bothers me in the guide is that you state Fate of Fell is a spender. It's only a spender with one specific rune otherwise its just a CD skill. Beyond that issue its a fun build just wish Bombardment or Blessed shield could synergize elemental types.
A good 2h weapon even without holy dmg on i will provide you more DPS than your current 1h weapon.
Stacking Elemental damage on gear is fine and a good way to go but you need a solid base of damage for it to shine. I'd swap the All Resist gems to Strength, look for an offensive type Amultet with Holy Dmg, Strength, Crit Chance and Crit Dmg. If you can find one with 3 of the 4 you can always roll for the missing one.
There are less legendary Flails of either type thanclass specific weapons for other classes. Also the fact there is no Craftable 2h Leg Flail is disappointing.
As soon as the revive procs from Akkarat's Champ you lose allof the other effects of the spell. If you watch when you "Die" you lose the buff and gain the debuff.
