Nu Metal is a pretty annoying genre. It's an odd place between, tone-downed metal with terrible screaming and for the most part emo or unintelligent lyrics. Linkin Park isn't the worst of it, and one or two of their songs aren't terrible. SOAD is another story though... If you honestly think that's a creative outlook on music then you need to be shot in the head right now by .50 caliber sniper rifle.
SoaD is creative because they're a band that is part of an obscure genre such as Nu Metal, not only that, but they combine many elements of normal metal as well, which is stretching outside the norm of even Nu Metal. And before you say that Nu Metal is not obscure, it was when SoaD formed. Being part of your own genre, by definition would lead me to believe that you are creative.

You're literally the laughing stock and scorn of the entire Metal community, not only me, and don't act like that's somehow a lie. You're talking out of your ass like what I'm saying isn't true or something, while it's just pointing out the obvious. I will take the time to prove it to you as well.
Right...If I was part of the metal community. Prog rock ftw? As for being knowledgable about music in general, I have many things that can back me up in that.

    Quote from name="-Mephisto"s Lament-" »
Mustaine plays guitar for Megadeth, him and the other guitarist share lead, you'd know that if you knew shit about what you're saying. You're an Nu Metal fan, that's the only insult I'm gonna use, since it's that fucking horrible.
Right, so I'm supposed to know random trivia on bands. Just because I don't know that how Megadeth is made up does not mean I have not heard Megadeth. As for being a Nu Metal fan, wrong. Prog rock > all. Really, I'm just standing up for bands that don't deserve to be critisized in the fashion that you're doing it.

    Quote from name="-Mephisto"s Lament-" »
All those fail to compare, bar Slash maybe.
Right...Fail to compare? Ritchie Blackmore being a more inspirational and better metal guitarist than Megadeth, SoaD and Linkin Park has. Jimmy Page was an influence for not only metal guitarists, but the entire guitarist population. Alex Lifeson is just awesome to listen to:D.

Ok, so what themes does Nu Metal take? They cuss loudly, and they're annoying, about shit not pertaining any subject of importance. Let's take these examples to oppose them.
Hooray for biased and closed minded evaluation!

    Quote from name="-Mephisto"s Lament-" »
Metal talks about the following subjects: Gambling (e.g Train of Consequences by Megadeth), Drugs (Master of Puppets by Metallica), Social Issues (Youthanasia by Megadeth), General Issues (Blood of Heroes by Megadeth, Sanitarium by Metallica, Holy Wars...The Punishment Due by Megadeth), Criticism of the System/Government/Whatever (And Justice For All by Megadeth, Skin 'O My Teeth by Megadeth), Mythical Figures and Philosophy (Countless hints in a countless amount of songs which I won't even bother citing).

Musical Elements in Metal include the following.

The use of entire symphonies (Emperor, Dimmu Borgir), the use of clean, great vocals (James Hetfield, Chuck Billy) the use of higher pitched clean voals (Dave Mustaine, King Diamond), heavy growls (bands like Psycroptic, Hate Eternal, and Cephalic Carnage), higher pitched growling (Carpathian Forest, Gaahl from Gorgoroth), entire choruses(Blind Guardian), operatic vocals (Tarja Turunen) and countless other things.
Alright, as Nu Metal is a developing, smaller and relatively newer genre in relation to metal, they should be expected to have much less elements incorporated.

So, I'm not an expert of Nu Metal, as I don't listen to it a lot, truthfully I have almost no material to use against this. But we've got Linkin Park which has the rapping style from Mike Shinoda and the screaming and normal singing from Chester. System of a Down has the main vocalists odd, but very fast style of nearly speaking, which also incorporates one of the oddest harmonies with the guitarist I believe, who's the harmony, yet screeches and of course has his own screams in various places. Linkin Park has so many sound effects incorporated into their songs. They also have the one of the scratching record things incorporated into a lot of songs. Issues addressed are varied, as SoaD has many songs devoted to war, the government and other political issues. Linkin Park covers the more emotional and tender side of things including parents-child relationships, relationships between males and females and depression, with the exception of their newest album, which includes (I'm led to believe) environmental issues among other things.

As I've mentioned above, my knowledge of Nu Metal is small, my terminology is weak and my attention to the genre is only comprised of SoaD and Linkin Park.

Metal takes an immense amount of talent, incorporating guitar with Bass, drumming, vocals style, keyboard incorporation, including symphonies in songs, even concerts (S&M by Metallica).
Nu Metal also incorporates a lot of this, as it has guitars, bass (I know you don't believe this to be true, but listen more closely), drumming, multiple vocal styles in the same song, sound effects etc.
Writing down suitable riffs, bass that follows, even bass solos (Call of Ktulu by Metallica, Angelripper in Sodom..), amazing drumming (Paul Bostaph, Hellhammer, Nick Menza...)
Once again, a wider genre has more variation.

all of wh ich stand the test of time.
They have no stood the test of time as they have not been around for long enough to stand the test of time, please don't exagerate.

    Quote from name="-Mephisto"s Lament-" »
Now please tell me, how does Nu Metal compare to all of that, better yet, how does it even fit in. Don't think I'm only talking about Nu Metal, you also get Metalcore idiots to tag along the poser wagon. Rapping, hving DJ stands, yelling out words like some boykissing Hardcore douchebag, saying cuss words out loud and doing all those idiotic antics do not get you into Metal, they're what takes you OUT of it.
Ah, so your main problem is the name of the genre itself. You feel that they are not true metal, so you are always going to be biased against it because you believe they do not fall into the category of metal. In which case, I advise you to take a step back and ignore the name of the genre as the names of genres are completely ridiculous (Grunge, funk, hip hop even rock itself) and don't really make too much sense. I do not believe that Nu Metal is true metal either, but I am still able to respect the genre enough to give some bands a fair listen.

As well, you seem pretty obsessed about that Metal has more talent than Nu Metal. If you want talent, I would definitely recommend Progressive Rock/Metal. Pink Floyd, Rush, Genesis, Tool, Dream Theater, Coheed and Cambria, Yes, Jethro Tull, Muse etc. The talent found within these bands is astounding.

    Quote from name="-Mephisto"s Lament-" »
By God, if you prove one point I made wrong, I will literally make a video of me bowing down to you.
    That would be pretty cool.

This by the way, is my final post (or at least, I intend it to be) on the matter. I feel that we've gone over everything we can possibly go over and if you still refuse to be more open minded towards Nu Metal (please do not call me a hypocrite because I am not open minded towards more typical metal, this is not true. Metallica and Deep Purple are far superior to any Nu Metal band in my opinion), then there is not much else to be done here.
