Alright, here's how I made my bone necro, and he's one of the best necromancers currently on US West Ladder.

20 Bone Spirit
20 Bone Spear
20 Bone Wall
20 Teeth
1 Corpse Explosion
1 Bone Armor
1 Lower Resist*
1 Amplify Damage
1 Life Tap
1 Terror
1 Weaken
1 Decrepicify
1 Iron Maiden
1 Clay Golem**
1 Golem Mastery
1 Summon Resist
The rest goes into Bone Prison***

Helmet : Shako or an amazing Necromancer Circlet (Skills, fcr, life, res) if you can get your hands on one.

Armor : Enigma obviously.

Weapon : Heart of the Oak **** or White if you can't get one.

Shield : Homoculus***** or Spirit will do.

Amulet : Maras.

Rings : X2 Sojs or FCR Res rings.

Belt : Arachs.

Gloves : Magefist.

Boots : Treks.

Switch : CTA and Spirit

* You need lower resist because if you're playing with anyone who uses elemental skills they will be forever grateful.
** Clay golem is a necessity because mine for instance, has about 13k health or so with BO. amazing tank and slows people down to boot.
***The reason you don't max all your synergies is because having the access to all the important curses and an amazing tank is much better than a little bit more damage, trust me.
****You should use HotO over a +3 to bone spirit wand with white because the damage the white gives is insignificant next to the Faster Cast Rate and Resistances that HotO gives.
*****I say homoculus over Spirit only because of the slightly better resistances and Mana Regen that it gives, despite that it doesn't have the fcr.

Mercenary:
Act 2 Nightmare Defense Mercenary. (Holy Freeze)
Helmet : Andy's
Weapon : CV Insight.
Armor : Fortitude.

OR

If you have enough mana regen, you can go for an even better mercenary in my opinion.

Act 2 Normal Combat Mercenary (Prayer)
Helmet : Andy's
Weapon : Eth 15ed CV Doom (You'll want to have the best possible CV for your Doom because its about 3 hrs to make, making it again if you find a better one is really annoying)
Armor : Fort.

Gul isn't a high rune most likely because it shouldn't be a high rune. High runes are generally decided by whether or not you can get them from forges. That's at least how I always understood it. And for cham and zod, I'm assuming its what heatwave said. As I can't even think of a runeword with cham in it.

As for the prices on CTA, last wish and Grief.

My guess, as I don't play non-ladder or East is that the average CTA would be between 1 and 3 high runes.

Last wish should be like 5 high runes.

And I'm not sure about Grief.

I agree with Bambi on this. We could get a ton of new recruits all the time, but the restrictions put on newcomers prevents that. Giving all D2 say to Ferret will make things better in my opinion.

Alright, I'm just reporting into SICK right now. Saying that on D2 my nec is now level 95 and was 11th nec last time I checked and was about 300 on the overall ladder. He is also pretty much fully geared except I'm having troubles getting my hans on a PHoto. As well, SICK baals are being run quite a lot by me and Bambi/OTC, so leveling should be no problem for anyone who wants to join us on US West Softcore.

Alright, so I'm back for those of you on D2. And I'm going to be spending a bunch of time leveling my nec up. Gotta catch ferret again ^ ^.

I will be away for about a week and a half, though this is not really to forums members, but to the people who play D2.
