Why wouldn't Blizzard make a teaser for WoTLK? Please, tell me what could stop Blizzard from doing this?
Teasers are serious business. We would see a splash image every day if they did one every time they were going to release a little information about a WoW expansion.
Plus why would they put it on their main site if it was info on WoW? What about those who do not play WoW and couldn't care less about it? Blizzard obviously wants to grab EVERYONE'S attention...
Really though.. what do they have that is WoW-related that is splash-worthy?? Would they really make a splash for a game that everyone knows is in development?
A couple total speculations of why they put it on the WoW site:
1. Many people that played / play Diablo have moved on to WoW -- so would also be interested in the announcement.
2. They are trying to throw a curveball.. especially with the 'Frostmourne' in there.. they don't want to give anything away too early, right?
Uhmm.. what happened to all the hype about the August cover that was going to be released yesterday? Sorry if this is redundant but I couldn't find the original post about it... ??
Looks pretty solid - better than some i have seen! Though you should try to make the boarder go all the way around the bottom and change the rated M to a Rating Pending.. other than that - nice .. (plus.. its easy for me to make corrections - but i could never get anywhere near making something like that ha!)
Yeah i guess i didn't check what day it was put up.. but have you guys checked out the jobs? There are a ton of "Diablo I and II team" job openings.
Go to http://www.blizzard.com/jobopp/ and click on the right side under "Artists" - Almost all of those without the WoW symbol say something along the lines of "The team behind Diablo I and II is looking for a skilled Senior 3D Character Artist" .. etc.. interesting!...
EDIT : Ooo! .. "Lead 3D Character Artist for an unannounced PC project" ... why don't they just come out and say diablo 3 already..
Check out that link and just read the first line of it .. isn't that a really awkward reference to diablo? Why did they even add that in?? How come they didn't say "the developer of World of Warcraft" ?? Are they trying to hint at something!??? Don't give up hope!!!
"Blizzard Entertainment, the developer of Diablo and Diablo II, is looking for a lead 3D environment artist skilled at creating models and texture maps for both architectural and natural environments. The ideal candidate has experience modeling and texturing assets for a diverse visual range of environments. A solid grasp of form, color, and light for both 2D and 3D art assets is essential. The lead environment artist must have experience leading a team and have a skill in another art task as well (illustration, modeling, texturing, animation, or concept drawing) and be well-versed in related tools -- Maya, Photoshop, etc. The ideal candidate works well in an environment of peers who are passionate about making great games."

I would get goosebumps if they had the ice slowly melting away as if something (or someone??) were heating it from behind...
That would be so sexy.
