I haven't played the game yet but I'm agree with Bill Roper. He, with his team, father of our gothic world and surely would have made it again to please my dark side much more than this upcoming diablo. I'm very sure I gonna like the game, because it's diablo universe and I'm such addicted but I will miss the dark gothic sensation.
I personnaly encourage server type game not as much as WoW but similar. You have either the option to create your character in a PVE environnement which means no PK unless it's a duel where both or more charcter are accepting or PVP where it comes back the pvp system they gonna introduce in D3.
What I really like was from Diablo Classic, without the expension, the randomization of item's stats. Rare items were the best and strongest and rarely the same as other players. So since it'll surely be in 3D I expect to have a large variety of esthetic equipments.

So if possible both. Ideabase(what you want it based on - BE DESCRIPTIVE): I'd really like something with the Diablo Death logo as for avatar and the Diablo Sanctuary (the one he's standing with yellow glowing eyes) for signature. As long as Diablo is there I'll be happy. Colorscheme: Mostly Dark and bloody Size: Avatar normal size, as long as we see it good and it can be put on the forum. The signature could be around 400px × 150px. Enough to see something =)
