A sure sign of a bad game economy is when game items become the currency. D2 SoJ's and GW Ecto's come to mind here. It is possible to have a thriving economy without allowing everything to be bought with gold. For example, BoP & BoE systems are good as long as it isn't overdone. It prevents the market from being flooded and rewards the player who plays the content rather than farming or Ebaying gold. At the same time gold or platinum or diablo dollars (whatever) are still viable for many other things and some items.
Jay Wilson: "I can’t really talk about Battle.net but I will say, Battle.net will not be a background. It’ll be huge, the next version will be absolutely Blizzard’s focus. Everyone is going to be thrilled when they see the kind of stuff we have planned! It feeds into our overall focus of providing a really great service for our players."
With Battle.net being redone it wouldn't surprise me to see some sort of membership fee. Perhaps not just for D3 but maybe a community service system for all their big IP's. With or without it'll be nice to see it redone. The original creators of it are the founders of ArenaNet and Guild Wars. Its been virtually untouched since its creation.
What are some features you all would like to see? An improved Steam type deal? Voice chat? Thoughts and concerns?

Ahh sweet Diablo. D2 got me started gaming and established my IGN. Nostalgia hits thinking back to owning peeps on US West with Clan Ai (Artificial Intelligence)! Which brings up a question: Are we going to be able to express hostility? For anyone who isn't old school the question is: Will there be PvP support for D3? Hopefully better than D2? Anyone heard anything?
