Nah, man, D2 wasn't more complex, it was same boring farm with few boring builds for each class. It had some pvp you could participate if you wanted to, though. When I see people whining about how Blizzard should've made D2HD I can't get how can they be so stupid and how they think Blizzard can be stupid enough to do shit lice D2 remastered. I laughed at people believing when fake D2HD site appeared. And I don't get people whining D3 is bad, it has bad things like paragons and legendary gems. It's good, it's just became boring after years of being almost the same. Still it had some big changes few times and I enjoyed it. Being the same for so long is the reason I don't play WoW even though I think it's one of the best MMO's ever made. I just can't play same shit since 2005 and not become bored.
Quote from floodbuster»D2 only had one big change during it's 12 year run, nothing else, no 3 mth patches with new items and set buffs.
And still many consider D2 the more complex aRPG game. Thus the thread.

1) End game build diversity
2) Paragon/experience system
3) Solo vs group disparity
4) No real economy/trading
5) Itemization (item progression)
I am not surprised at all. I hope Blizzard are taking notes if they decide to make D4 some day.

Clean240 posted a message on Diablo II Remastered at BlizzconPosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionIt sounds like you already made your decision and then figured out a way to make all of the clues fit your idea. Confirmation bias to the extreme. None of the things you pointed out really seem that likely or obvious to me, as much as I would like a big and exciting announcement.

Enslaved2184 posted a message on D3 following path of WoW?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionMaybe being guardian ain't super duper hyper giga sega mega achievement anymore, but since so many players were runting against seasons and said they want to play just until stash tab, maybe this way they will invest 2 more h to get to guardian achievement. Also, those who hunt for top or any leaderboard positions still need to play a lot to achieve that.
And please, i beg all of you, no more "D3 is dying" crap. Stating the obvious or simply lamenting over the diminishing interest in the game ain't gonna help at all. Just be real, so many games went out, ppl can't play all of them at the same time. Half of my friend list is always on WoW, some 10 ppl do not even log out from Overwatch, and still I have no problem to find groups for grifts, bounties, t10 key spam and so on. Until Blizzcon we won't be able to know for sure is D3 shunned or will it be revitalized by some new DLC or something.

LTR posted a message on Time to pull the plug?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionMaybe you should just stop playing then.
It's kind of an obvious reply, but why should the people who still find any sort of enjoyment out of the game, even though it does not mirror your level of enthusiasm, go without?
My question to you: Are you still playing the game? If so, maybe it's time to stop. I ask because just looking at your armory, you only have 298 paragon levels combined across your account - add in the 600 you earned on console in your signature and that would you at just under 700 paragon levels. That's average. From the way you explain it, you sound like a hardened vet with multiple thousands of paragon levels who is just burnt out. Maybe this just isn't the game for you, and that's fine - but don't try to ruin the experience for others.

MONK_P100 posted a message on Time to pull the plug?Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionFirst off I am also a D1 die hard fans. I play less often now simply I have other priorities. The current mode is completely playable, albeit shifted from the previous loot grinding. I am now at best a casual player, and play occasionally at will. But just develop and try a new build one at a time for all classes is a lot of fun, which may also take you many hours. With the new items introduced in each patch, the experience is very much refreshing and rewarding. I don't play season now, and my gem and paragon levels are not high at all, but I manage to do grift 70 with comfort for many classes in different builds. One good thing of Diablo is that you can play it anytime, pause and resume.

This is what the Diablo series is all about. It's always about grinding.
That's okay, but just because you're bored doesn't mean anyone should pull the plug. That's a pretty selfish thing to say. I guess you're just looking for a different game, one with constant new content (maybe you want to look into a subscription-based game like an MMO). It just sounds a game like Diablo is not what you're looking for, because what you *criticize* is exactly what this game is about. It's like complaining that Quake is too violent or Settlers has too much economics.
I am getting a bit annoyed with everyone talking about expansion, expansion, expansion, expansion. Diablo 2 got a new ladder reset today. No new content for years. Still many people playing it. No one would be so selfish as to demand Blizzard to pull the plug on D2. And just as a reminder, it's been almost FIFTEEN YEARS since the last expansion for that game has been released. No new content in 15 years, yet the game is going strong. Am I still playing it? No. But I wouldn't go to a D2 fan forum and tell all the people who still love and play it that the game is boring and we should pull the plug.

Clean240 posted a message on I am baffled by Blizzard's incompetencePosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionI am baffled by the fact that you took the time to write that. Your hero doesn't fit the group meta. Is that really a big deal? How you made the mental leap between you voluntarily playing a build in a setting that makes it boring and Blizzard as a whole being incompetent, I will never know.
I've been lurking on this site since it started and I've seen a lot of pointless posts full of misdirected anger and accusations but this is one really takes the cake. I mean really, do you have deep and intimate connections with the barbarian class that warrants blanket negative generalizations of an entire company that you need to share so that I can understand the depths of your irrational rage?
It is a game. Just a game. One that has probably already yielded you more hours of entertainment per dollar spent than almost any other activity in your entire lifetime. Is there really that much to complain about, much less be enraged over?
You are free to roll a class or build that fits the current group meta, play alone and enjoy yourself, or even play a different game. Whatever you do, realize that your silly posts here or anywhere elseand won't change anything. You are just keeping yourself upset by trying to put a square peg in a round hole and then calling people names when it doesn't work. Stressing out over this and posting angry rants is literally bad for your well being. Not worth. Good luck finding emotional peace in your Diablo journey.

This is incredibly stupid. Stash space is a necessity, not a reward.
Thanks for compiliting the list though.

Stash space is a necessity, not a reward. It absolutely must not be locked after seasonal achievements.
(If I were that guy, I'd ask: why do seasonal players even need more stash space? they discard their old characters and roll new ones each season anyway! But I won't, 'cause I'm not that guy)

1) There's no „we“, there's only „you“.
2) Diablo has never been an RPG and will never be one.

I'm afraid I'm pretty sure his sources include his ass.

New sets won't be season exclusive. Updated sets won't be either.

Avoiding digging up half a year old threads is also something to consider, methinks.
