I have a dilemma. I have D2 LOD installed but since the latest patch wont work with ES I have to make a choice. Either play LOD or ES... IDK what to do If I dont play lod I'll probably be kicked from SICK...:(
No you don't. First of all you can set up two directories for D2. The original installfolder for B.net play, and a copy of the D2 folder in which you install ES.
Alternatively, if you're low on disk space, you can download a utility that swaps files upon startup from http://phrozenkeep.planetdiablo.gamespy.com/
You'll have to find it yourself though, I've only noticed it in passing.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

But I cxan't get better gear until I get further into Hell, but I can't until I get rid of immunities! AH DAMN ALL THESE CIRCLES OF CRAP THAT EXIST IN MY LIFE. DX
That would appear to be an insurmountable problem then.
The ES Wiki however does say that a Sorc is hard to play in Hell, and I assume you would have to do a lot of D-stoning and forging with an un-twinked one.

Its a fire sorc - and so all points need to go into fire skills! (With the exception of soul shiver, static field and teleport).
And just to let you know, even with all my points focused on the fire branch - damage still isn't all that great. I know, I could use better gear, but if I go into 2 branches, I'd be screwed.
Supposedly Immolation is a real killer is you want to take the chance and run up to mosnters.
I think you need to split your skills, which would mean you need better gear. I don't know what Immunities are unbreakable in ES, but I figure it's probably a few.

EH.... I have been in an ES drought lately. I keep creating characters that use elemental damage all the time, and that just doesn't work when you reach hell. You can't do any quest without running into immunes. They honestly need to make a low-level runeword/unique that gets conviction aura on when equipped. The other effects can be crappy, just something to easily reduce enemy res' so casters can go through hell without needing perfectly godly items. I mean, how the hell do they expect a sorc to go through it without one of those runewords? The lowest one I foudn requires a purple rune. The highest rune I found was gold in act1 hell.
My Spearzon has served me quite well, and I killed Shenk just before I stopped playing. Not because she couldn't continue, but because I got slightly depressed at not knowing what items to go for. Then came Devil May Cry 4 and after that I just forgot to play
Either way, I used a combination of Jab, Lightning Strike and Shadow Strike. I have yet to encounter a PI/LI/MI monster, and with a maxed Valkyrie to back me up, I don't need massive survivability to manage. Although I can die rather quickly if caught off guard.
I can imagine the Sorceress being tougher to play without a summon and with no Magic and Physical damage. But I hope you're not focusing on one tree, if so you have yourself to blame

Did you sell any Devil's Food to get this to happen, or were you just lucky?
Just lucky, and in more then one way. I had him sapwn again, but this time I had no chance against him. I think my Valkyrie might have spawned with a "Prevent Monster Heal" last time, because he regenerated health faster than I could damage him
Oh, and I managed to slowly wade my way through Hell. Died a few times in the beginning of Act 2, not once in Act 3, and not once in Act4 either... until I reached Lachdanan in the Chaos Sanctuary. God damn, I have no idea how I'm gonna manage to kill him and his minions

Hey Phrozen, have you tried remaking some of your runewords? For example, "Learned One" only has 11 all res, and I doubt the creators would have a set resistance of 11 on their items, just an awkward number. So chances are, it can be both higher and lwoer, so I suggest you look up the runeword Learned One and check the max all res it can have, then remake it (put your runeword + key in cube and transmute) over and over again until you get those res to be perfect. Also, if you have any other runewords like that, then do the same.
What, you can do that?! Is that just with runewords or uniques as well?
Anyway, I went into Hell today at lvl 81 after getting some resist charms. I managed to get secret recipie 27, so all those magic charms I'd been hoarding were finally turned into something better. Although arbuably they could have turned out better.
Its going pretty well so far though. My poison resist sucks at -53, but other than that I'm lying around 0. I'm hoping to get as far as possible, I've only died twice so far, once against Treehead and another time against a nasty LE something outside the Monastery.
Something else also happened which I am not sure was supposed to happen. DClone spawned, and I beat him He didn't drop anything good though, except for a unique charm I already had.

Get best weapon...
then go search the things you need in other gear.. cannot be frozen..freeze target.. cold attack or smth..
Now that's a lot of help.
First of all, I gambled that weapon I have. I judged that to be the best spear weapon available at my level. So if you say get best weapon, a little more in-depth advice would be helpful.

Ok, these are a lot of pictures. A few things I understand myself, such as the fact that I need more resists, especially if I wish to enter Hell. I just haven't found any items with resists that are adequate for my level. I also need more life, but beyond that, what should I aim for? I have no D-stones anything, because I am unsure of what I need exacly, and if there are better base items out there I'd try to get them first.

And not surprisingly, this thread died as soon as D3 was announced.
Not for me however, I got the urge to play D2 again and decided to try ES what with all the activity here lately.
I've currently got a lvl 76 Spearzon using Jab, Lightning Strike and Shadow Strike, but by god my gear must suck. I have a hard time taking down Duriel with his backup, the dual Mephisto's with tamer, and all the mobs in The Worldstone chamber. And MooMoo farm and all special areas are also far from a cakewalk.
Assuming you had a speazon, what gear would you suggest I use? Runewords, Uniques, crafted, whatever. I'll get to upload some pics of my gear later for reference.

I don't mean to be insulting or anything, nor do I mean offense by using your post as an example, Dragon, but doesn't anyone here know what a Hyperbole is? I mean seriously.
I do know what it is
But I think we've all been shaped in a manner on how we react to posts here, and arguments always flare up on the slightest of inaccuracies.
And I myself have a tendency to misunderstand posts when they contain no smilies.
