Steel lords on level 13 means warlord of blood and no Lachdanan. Any other Demon Knights on level 13 means Lachdanan no Warlord.
Chamber of Bone, Lazarus and Diablo are the only quests that will appear in every game, without fail, everytime.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
but for like a lvl 2 character to open up that door and to have him come after you... it was either pure terror or excitement (or certain death lol) ^^
You must be rushing through the levels. I am usually around level 6 or 7 by the time I fight the Butcher, and that is without going to level 3 of the Cathedral before fighting him.

I have wondered about that myself. Are the bounds of Isometric view at play here. Is the 8 suppose to be infinity? The symbol for infinity is an 8 on its side. No I don't quite think so, not quite oriented the right way. Are they suppose to be eyes? Ironic if so, being it is the halls of the blind and all, but still circles are possible in Isometric, those rooms are clearly square.

7 or 8 items that sell for 10000gp each, one super kick ass monster to fight, and a spine chilling monologue by said monster.
What's not to like.

While moving away from you (after getting hit), the Illusion Weavers are impossible to hit. Also there is a chance that they will multiply when killed.
The sooner you learn that fact, the better. I always had a feeling it was the truth, ever since my first encounter with them.
I guess "lorewise" you could say it's an illusion.
The multispawn, or prehaps it is better phrased as Multirespawn, does have a limit, or obviously you would be there all day killing them and not accomplish anything, you would slaughter them until you rot.

My favorite was with King Leoric... I remember every time I replayed Diablo and didn't find him I was really, really sad... I love the stuff he said when you just enter his area. Don't remember the exact words, though, can anyone help me here?
The warmth of life has entered my tomb. Prepare yourself mortal, to serve my master for all eternity (Laughs).
Quests are derived from a quest pool.
Quests in Group / How many can be done in a game
King Leoric, Poisoned Water supply / 1
Butcher, Gharbad, Ogden's Sign / 2
Magic Rock, Arkaine's Valor, Halls of the blind / 2
Zhar, Black Mushroom, Anvil of Fury / 2
Lachdanan, Warlord of Blood / 1
You can always do the Chamber of Bone, Lazarus and Diablo.

I love the Halls of the Blind. The poem is just so cool, and I love fighting unseen enemies, its really quite challenging and fun, cause they pop out infront of you. I always jump in my seat lol.
Don't forget that for each one you kill another two takes it's place. Yes, the Illusion Weavers (the yellow ones) "multispawn" new ones on death.

Not a bad quest though. Get a nice Helm out of it.
But yeah, he deserved a bigger role.

They (Possessed men or demons) always seem cooler if they have some humanity left, even if it is almost at an end.
The "Lachdanan" characters are also very intriguing, the demon or monster that is willing to do almost anything to regain if even partially, if even for a moment, their humanity.

I think the Magic Rock(?) was really neat. I liked the idea that a meteor falling from space would have magical properties. And the idea of the caravan transporting it for study also was very interesting. Helped add to the feel there was a world beyond just Tristram.
I love that quest for the additional reason that it is Griswold that give it to you. His accent is awesome.
My favorite may possibly be Archbishop Lazarus. By the time you reach him, everything feels like it's personal. You're getting revenge for the townsfolk, Albrecht, and Leoric. Then you see the dead body on the altar and you assume at first that it's Albrecht's.
If there is some kinds of "oscars" for voice acting in games, the guy who did Lazarus should totally get one, or at least get a nom. His line in that quest is so chilling and col hearted.
"Abandon your foolish quest... All that awaits you is the wrath of my master... you are too late to save the child.. now you shall join him.. in HELL!!!!!!"

I love the Chamber of Bone, lots of items, EXP and one hella cool opening dialog.
"Beyond the Hall of Heroes lies the Chamber of Bone. Eternal death awaits any who would seek to steal the treasures secured within this room. So speaks the Lord of Terror, and so it is written."
But Arkaine's Valor and Warlord of Blood are up there too.
