Hey i got an idea, i don't know if this has been said but on my other forums they have certain threads that require passwords to access. We could do the same.
Don't really know what the point is though? What are you going to discuss in there? How horrible newbies are? The good old times?

I'm not entirely against this idea. But I also am afraid of alienating newer members who may really have great things to contribute to the site, either in their artwork or even just their quality of posts. Everyone deserves a chance to establish themselves. And they should let their activity on the forums speak for itself.
I think the whole idea seems rather unuseful. The moderators have a separete forum for obvious reasons, but I do not see why that should be the case for "veteran" members, whatever that means. I am of the belief that anyone should be able to prove themselves, regardless of how often they feel like posting here or when they stumbled upon this site. No one should be alienated based on join date and post count.

And just because we have lots of new members with tons of posts already, this shouldn't be too much of an issue, except for the mods where we may not always get to cleaning up the amount of spam that we'd like to. The things is, it doesn't take long to develop a reputation around here. So you may have a particular person with over a 1,000 posts who has been here for not very long, but if their quality of posts aren't great, the members that you find worthwhile are likely to catch on to that as well. But I know some member who have maybe 200 posts, and whenever these people post, I pay really close attention to what they have to say because I know they usually don't post as much unless they have something really worthwhile to say. And that kind of reputation is far more valuable than number of posts. While others with tons of posts with rarely anything good to say, they're just kind of hurting their own reputations and ensuring that no one takes them seriously in the future; this also makes people typically skim over there posts anyway and get to the better ones.

A very good and true point.
