As denoted in this thread we, as a forum whole, decided to play on 1, maybe two Realms. That being (Horde on) Destromath and (Alliance on) Anetheron. But it seemed few people, and by few I really just mean me, actually practiced that.
So with WOTLK looming, I asked who still plays
when i started playing, i was under the assumption that it could be solo'd, like Diablo. I was fairly disappointed when i realised how heavily WoW depends on party play because
1. i prefer to solo, to see what i'm capable of, not what everyone else is capable of
2. i don't like the idea of having to join at speciffic times...it makes it feel like a classroom, or sports practice or something instead of a video game
3. i work night shift, which means if i go on a run, it almot has to be with a pick-up group, so i can't get to know people's playstyles as i go
4. i often play video games to releive stress, but dealing with people on wow can feel like a chore or a second job sometimes
Yes, I too was to understand you could solo it if you wanted to, with the exception of certain areas like dungeons. I often find myself being on my own, I was rather disappointed to learn how badly oriented towards team play it is. That or just a few more potions would suffice.
1. Generally I prefer to solo, but I see nothing wrong with joining forces to whomp on people in an arena or battleground. I would enjoy getting my victory in Warsong Gulch (or wherever) a bit more, knowing some of you were by my side.
2. Not too sure where that came from, I don't think I ever said people here had to play within these hours or on these days.
3. I work crap hours too. But if I playing with people here, at least they will understand if I must leave. They will have probably read somewhere what commitments I have in the Real World.
Play Styles can be diagnosed to a point from a person's personality. And their personality can be diagnosed (in part) by how they post on a forum, thus a persons play style can be diagnosed by how they post on a forum.
4. You are dealing with people you don't know or people who don't want to talk to you. People here are far more liking to talk to you than most other players you come across in WOW. Unless the words they say are "Duel Me" "Fight Me" "Duel" and "STFU NOOB"
My intention with having us all on one realm was to avoid that.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Who still plays WOW, but more importantly, who still plays on the Destromath realm. That is the realm we as a forum agreed to play on after all.
Anyone thinking of coming back with the release of WOTLK?
Or is anyone thinking of starting WOW sometime?
