You didn't. He's just making a wild guess and stating it as fact.
No where did Blizzard say there would be +skill attributes.
Ooohh bugger that sounded kinda cool. In that case we have lost customization, as everyones skills are now going to be more similar to everyone elses with a slightly different effect or bonus, opposed to a large different effect or bonus, which really kinda sucks. I understand that they need to make it easy for new people to start, but they are really taking a lot out of the game for veteran players. Sad face
I would argue we haven't really lost any customization. There's no telling if there will be + skill affixes, or + to certain rune affixes. And even if there isn't, while the old systems level 7 runes would be way hard to find, people would still end up getting them eventually, leading to the same place as the new system, where everyone playing inferno would have maxed runes. This still leaves a lot open for adding additional affixes, and we still have a ridiculous pool worth of them on items. It'l be ok guys, there's more than we could have hoped for for a game like this, anyway =P
Why didn't Jay mention anything about a release date now that the Runes are out of the way?
Wasn't that the last big thing preventing a date? I seriously don't even give a shit if my fireball spell goes farther or looks different, the runes mean nothing to me.
Launch the damn game.
Just put yourself in their shoes: If this was the last hurdle, (which I think it was), they still need to let it be beta tested. I'm sure it's been internally tested a lot, but I'd at least let it hit servers live for a couple days to make sure it doesn't break, before saying 'ok guys everything's in place, now we plan on a XX,YY date for release!' *partypartyparty*
X = The amount of hours Bashiok has to troll before school
Y = The amount of hype Blizzard thinks the game has built, and when reaching critical mass will cancel the game altogether, pull out their 401K's and live in a country that doesn't extradite =D
Under the new system, your Barbarian might have a stronger Whirlwind because he has several pieces of +Whirlwind gear, while my Barbarian has a stronger Frenzy because he stacks +Frenzy gear.
Wheres the info on our gear giving us bonus to specific skills? I must have missed this

I agree. While there's a slight possibility this could happen, it's defiantly dangerous at the moment to just be talking about a system when there's no proof of it's existence. Personally? I think it would be cool to see + skills rolled out on items, but it's just my personal opinion that if they were to do that, they wouldn't do it on a skill to skill basis. That would make a LOT of gear useless to a lot of players. IF they wanted to go near that deep, they might do a + to whatever sub catagory a class might have, like the new ones.
Because what I see is a fully implemented skill and rune system, and therefore no more big changes. What I see is that the game's environment, bosses, zones, quests, dungeons, items, and skills are done. What I see, is a release soon. They have nothing else big to work on.
"The cooldown on swapping skills has been decreased from 30 seconds to 15 seconds"
I think that since you'll be able to choose whatever skill/rune combo you like once at the level-cap, the cooldown should be a lot higher. Customization and the removal of the need to start over again to try another build is great, but they should at least let you feel like you are making a choice that is at lasting for a couple of minutes.
All that would do is make things more annoying.
To experiment things yes, but it'll be good for those who doesn't like the lack of permanent choices, while not permanent at least players would be more likely to stick to one build for a longer time instead of always swapping skills back and forth.
Again, the REAL problem is, you want others to play how you'd play. Admit it, what makes you angry when you think of swapping skills, is the thought of OTHER people swapping. It's a control issue. If YOU want to play that way go ahead, but don't force others too. Personally playing the beta, the decrease to 15 seconds is awesome, that 30 seconds was a pain.
