- Too Easy
- More Arcade than ARPG
- Skill UI
- Replayability may suffer from the skill system.
- RMAH
- From my point of view D2 had more "fun" spells. Frost orb had a cool projectile mechanic. Necro had Cadaver Explosion, Curses. Amazon Lightning Fury was fun like hell. Fist of Heaven from the Paladin had a cool mechanic, all Auras from the Paladin made sense - the monk is a joke in direct comparison.
- Resource Systems are boring, i know D2 had a more boring resource system overall but mostly the complete resource system goes "build something up" -> "unload something". It does remove the possibility to passivly increase resource generation.
I'm actually aghast that someone thinks D2 had better spells. I never even thought, through all the whining I've heard, someone would make that point lol =D
As to your other points;
1. Inferno mode. According to Blizzard it will be equal to you being level 85 in D2 and fighting level 116's. It won't be easy, like ever. Even with the best of the best gear, it will still be tough. Don't worry.
2. Define arcade? Having spent at least my whole high school career and then some playing D2, I can tell you that just playing the beta the encounters feel almost exactly the same.
3. I agree, hopefully the skill UI get's redone. I don't plan on having it open much anyway, but I'd rather it look a lil mo' pretty.
4. It's been argued already a ridiculous amount; There's MORE replayability in D3, by FAR.
5. RMAH is necessary. It brings in money for Blizzard, it creates a secure environment for players to trade, and it all but effectively eliminates 3rd party sites. I can see some sites trying for the HC market, but I can see why blizzard wouldn't want to dabble in being a part of kids buying a ton of stuff with their parents credit cards, and then dying and losing it all =P
6. Goes back to my first sentence; Are you really trying to argue that D2 had better spells? I'd take arcane orb over ice orb any day for the Wiz. The Witch Doctor has a pet explosion. How do the monks auras not make sense? Healing, defensive, offensive, if anything the monks auras are what any holy class from any game goes by, their staples.
7. The resource system can be directly linked to I'd say 1/3 of how a character is defined in D3. Gear and skills are the players choices, and the resource system completely makes every class different. It varies so differently, how can they be boring? More importantly, do you have any better ideas?
That it will require a group to do certain quests.
I wanna be a one-man-legion like in the previous installments.
i agree 100000% on this, this is what made me stop playing wow
Exactly the same with me. The fact that my entire night of gaming could be ruined, and depended upon, other players really wasn't fun. Don't get me wrong it's WAY fun to do a raid with your guild, but the huge draw of D3 to me (and the reason why I played D2 so much) is the fact that I don't NEED other players. I'm thankful Blizzard is staying faithful to that =D
As far as the thread goes, I really, REALLY hope there's no duping. Hell I'd rather have bots than duping. Yes bots are annoying and bad for the game, but there's still going to be thousands of people payed just to farm the game day in and day out anyway. As long as they keep duping under control, I think D3 will be alright.
