Bashiok - Blizzard Representative - 08/01/2011 -"So how many skill combinations are there now? Well taking into account 6 active skills, all the rune combinations, and 3 passives we currently expect each class to have roughly 2,285,814,795,264 different build combinations."
"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"
They gonna release 1 new Skill each Week now...
This Week (patch went Online this Morning) is a Skill called "Incinerate".
Its a Fire Witch Spell...a channeled Cone AE dealing more and more Damage over Time.
Next Weeks Spell got announced as well, and now hold your Horses ;-)
Cant really wait... and i need to level a Marauder now!!!
I already played PoE and I must say that I like it, but tbh it is not better than D3. I love how they made their currency as the items, seems like a lot of players of PoE are selling their items for real-money. I was surprised while I was browsing a PoE forum marketplace, I saw that one orb can cost $!

I also play PoE and selling my item currency. For example we sell exalted orbs at softcore at around $7 - $9 :Thumbs Up:
and there are alot of sellers within PoE, I bet that it will increase when the open beta is finish.

But I've been wondering knowing that POE is still in its beta phase. isnt it risky to sell your items for real money? have you experience getting scam?

It's always risky to sell items (or buy them) for real money; being in BETA doesn't make any real difference for that. The scammers are always around on both ends; you just have to avoid it or be very careful on who you deal with.

It is risky to sell them. Yes tbh I have experience once when I saw still selling my in-game item in some forums. When dealing things in forum you must always have a middleman or you can use a exchange platform to do the job.

I agree with your statement that it is always risky and be very careful on who you deal with. Like what I usually do when I dont deem trust worthy in dealing with a buyer, I always suggest to trade via a secured exchange platform like playerauctions since its one of the popular out there and tbh I always sell my orbs there.
I wouldn't say that PoE is a better game, but I would say that it is far more complex in it's game mechanics than Diablo III is. With that being said, it becomes a matter of preference in which you would enjoy better. Do you want to play a game that is far more simple, with better graphics, and more fluid combat; or play a game that is far more complex, with greater character build options, and has a higher learning curve? Let's also not forget that PoE found part of itself on the grounding of what Blizzard built with the older editions of Diablo.
Both games inherently have their pro's and con's, while both focus on the same sort of ARPG game genre. I would say that alone, Diablo III is a good game for the right person, and the same can be said for PoE. I think PoE has a great amount of potential, and I also think Blizzard is just having a rough time trying to integrate their games into the younger gaming community without ticking off their old-gen gamers. The actual problem here is that people grow up, get older, and have less time for their hobbies. All the while, more kids are being born and their taste reflect the new years to come, and big game companies like Blizzard have to adapt to that with constant changes.
I personally, think we as an older generation of gamers (I assume a fair majority of us are old enough to remember D1 and 2), need to stop assuming that what we enjoy in games is superior to what the younger generation of gamers enjoy in video games (assuming that the younger generation as a whole tends to enjoy a game better that we alternatively tend to hate due to our past experiences with games). I might be rambling a bit, but I think it's imparitive that people realize that a game is built to be enjoyed, and if someone, anyone enjoys that game to any degree, a level of success has been achieved, even if miniscule in nature. A lot of us may be disappointed with D3, but alternatively, there is also a good deal of people who aren't, and most of them are kids from what I've come to observe.

I've observed the opposite! But I do agree with your general thoughts.
I couldn't really get into path of exile. I just found D3 to be more enjoyable.

The skill tree and gems are pretty neat, millions of combinations. Then you go play and desync to death, lag to death (literally) and find out that the gems and sockets are a slot machine, then you yell ***********!!! and quit.
I left because as it is there are too many bugs, too many flaws, too many skills and items that worth nothing. It's like playing version 0.000001 of the game.

Well technically it's still in beta phase... isn't it?
I don't know, i tried POE twice, everytime i got to the second city and started doing some quests there and then i quit. I just don't like it.
I'm not looking for complexity in games. I'm looking for good gameplay. If i want to delve into something complex i'd be programing, trying to figure out complex algorithms or anything along those lines. So please spare me your "kids like D3" argument because it's total bullshit. If anything, only a little kid would use that argument just to prove to himself that he is not a kid. I believe it's called the Napolleon complex...
I tried to get into PoE, but it just was not my cup of tea. Granted, I tried it a long time ago, so perhaps it's been fixed since...I also only played up to part way through Act 2, so maybe it gets super awesome later on?
Anyway, I stopped playing because:
I disliked the art style. It looked, to me, to be a crappy HD version of D2, in terms of art/graphics.
I really didn't like the penchant the game had for having a tiny light radius. It felt like I was stumbling around in the dark. That works, imo, for atmosphere in first person games (like System Shock. Holy crap that game could be scary), but not so much for 3rd person.
The combat felt weak. It was like I swinging a stick. Even when I could kill in one hit, it didn't feel like I was hitting anything.
The combat wasn't visually interesting. Maybe later on, it is, but early on, it wasn't. I can remember my young self laughing at the Necro's corpse explosion. That's the kind of thing I want in combat, and I think D3 does that WAAAYY better than PoE does (or did).
Loot. It was boring. I can't say that D3 does it really well, but I just never felt like I was getting anything good, and I think that's because of how the skills worked (being items you socket). I could see this being good later, but it just seemed like it was unnecessarily complicated.
Lore. Not that it was bad, I was lost. I'm a lore geek. I listen to and try and find everything. I didn't know who was doing what, why they were doing it, or even where I was. Why were prisoners being treated that way? Who locked up the gates? What was with this or that. It felt like I was missing something. Maybe I was, what with it being beta and all, but I don't think a game's lore should require any outside reading to have a basic understanding, and it felt like I needed that.
I DID think it had a lot of good ideas (the barter system instead of money, the "skill" tree, the runes), I just felt that the set up was fundamentally sub-optimal. Again, it may have changed, but I didn't see anything then that made me want to try it again now.
The loot system is something I found at first I didnt really enjoy, but then once I really invested time into the game and understood the skill system and the passive tree and builds as a whole, it gave loot so much more feeling and drive.
Its a game that you really need to scratch under the surface to get into, its not an accessible game for the masses, this is made by hardcore guys for hardcore gamers.
And if you stick with it, learn it, you will love it.
