The Zombie Invasion has begun. If you would like to join in on the Zombie apocalypse, let me know and I will add you into the game quickly.
In conjunction with The Zombie Attack Game and with the suggestion of a fellow user, I have decided to create a Zombie survival role playing game. This RP will be run a little differently than most of the RP's on this forum. I will be playing the role of the Game Master. It will be my job to create situations for the players to interact with. I will make you guys go into situations and you have to try to survive. I will have some control over your characters in order to control the overall game. It is up to you, the players, on how to survive the zombie apocalypse.
Setting:
Zombie survival takes place in a modern day metropolis. The city of Relyt is a bustling city with a high population and busy streets. It is considered one of the best cities in the world. As of recently, an epidemic has reached the fine city. At first, people suspected it was just a flu virus but as the number of infected grew the effects of the virus changed as well...
Characters:
I have created a list of characters for players to choose from. Each class will have an advantage, disadvantage and starting location (more on this later). If you have a suggestion for your own character, please PM it to me and so we can make sure it fits in with the story. As for now, only one player may play a particular character and it will be on a first come, first serve basis. It is up to you to create your character's background and reason for wanting to survive.

How to Play:
The RP is, at heart, a literary RP. All actions will be controlled through dialogue and written commentary.
Each player must adhere to their respective advantages and disadvantages. For example, the cop cannot easily out run a zombie. It is best for him to fight it and then move on.
All actions must be said if you want them to effect the situation. If you need a weapon, say that your character found a crowbar. If you get injured and never mentioned finding antiseptic, you will be injured. Remember, it is up to you guys to survive. It is up to me to try and stop you from surviving.
This RP is not turn based. You are allowed to interact more often than other players if you wish. As well, I will be at liberty to add in any situation whenever I want. With this in mind, I ask that the people who want to join to understand this will be a fairly active game. You will be expected to post around 3 times a week. I will do my best to keep the action going while waiting for everyone to get to comment.
Posts should only deal with the situation given to you. I will give cues when further actions need to be taken. If you decide to run out into the streets, consequences will occur. Also, please do not try to do too much in each post. Do not find a weapon, rest, bandage a wound, and fight off another zombie all in one post. This will allow me to give you more situations to handle.
Dialogue is important in between actions as well. You are playing your character. Imagine what it would be like to be in this situation. This dialogue will be needed to help express who your character really is beyond a cop with a gun.
If you will be gone for an extended time. Please notify me so we are not waiting on your character. I will give a quick reasoning in game to explain your absence.
It will be up to you guys as a team to work together to survive.
The group has found a large vacant warehouse. Miscellaneous tools and supplies liter the floor. There are also five giant windows in the building. (I will create a setting for action to happen in)
"I'm going to search the warehouse for a weapon" John said to the rest of the group. He scoured the area until he found an emergency box with an axe in it. John broke the glass and grabbed the axe. "This will come in handy" he says as he holds the new weapon in his hands. John returned to the group to see where else he could be of assistance.
"Hurry guys, this place won't be safe for long if we don't get those windows covered." Lee found some loose particle board on the floor and began hanging it over the exposed windows. "These damn fools, they don't know one thing about surviving a zombie invasion. Why didn't the masses listen to me when I told them this was going to happen." Lee thought to himself as he continued barring up the windows.
"Oh my God, I need to rest" Jack said as he sat down on the floor. "I don't think I can run any further." Jack caught his breath as he sat on the dusty floor. "Can you guys believe this. I mean zombies, those only exist in the movies. I saw my own son's brain be sucked dry from his head." Jack sat on the floor shaking back and forth, nervous about the situation that was thrown on him.
The one window left open breaks through as 5 zombies stumble through the opening. (With Lee being the only one attempting to cover the windows, I decided to throw in some zombies)
Allen lit a small explosives and hurled it towards the zombies. "HAHA, this will take care of them"
The explosion destroyed the five zombies instantly but Lee was also hit by some shrapnel. (Ideas need to be thought out, since Allen was near the window, it is likely he was hit as well).
"Hold on, I'm coming." The doctor yelled as he ran across the room. The Doctor pulled out some alcohol wipes and cleaned the wound. He then wrapped the exposed skin with some gauze. "My supplies are not going to last long at this rate" the doctor said looking back at Allen.
After receiving some supplies and rest, the group realized that the sound of the explosion will draw the attention of more zombies. The group needs to find somewhere else to go. (This will be a cue for anyone to take lead and leave the current setting and go to a new one.)
"Dammit. That explosion is going to draw every zombie right towards us" Allen yelled as he lowered his head thinking how he got mixed in with this helpless group.
"Well, let's go then. I am not waiting around here to be one of those things meals." Jack got up and headed for the now open window. He leads the rest of the group out into the street iin front of the warehouse.
As the group looks for a new place to go, three zombies pop around the corner of the building. (I will add some action when needed).
Profile:
Each player will have a profile that will list: location, supplies, weapons, ammo, overall health, and fatigue. Health and fatigue will not have any statistical effects on the character other than the player must conform to their status. For example, if your fatigue is high, outrunning a zombie is unlikely. I will do my best to update everyone's profile as often as possible. -profile page-
I will be relying on submissions from The Zombie Attack Game for inspiration for the RP so please stop in and play this amazing game.
If you are interested in playing, let me know. This thread will also be used for all out of character discussion once the RP has started.

Ok. the zombie expert has been filled. As I mentioned before, people are free to come up with their own characters. Please PM them to me first so we can make sure that they will fit in correctly. After all, we can't have 5 cops doing the same thing.

Guasti has created his own character, The guide. This is a great example of what I am looking for if you want to create your own character. It should be simple, adhere to the story and mesh well with the other characters. Also, if you like a character but want a little tweak to it, let me know.

I may participate in this as well. This will be my first RP, though. Never found any interest in them until now. I mean, zombie survival RP? Friggen' brilliant. I still don't know which character I will be. Can I be the nerd who always runs around with a Katana?

Disadvantage: Anti-social
Starting location: Home
Weapon: Katana he bought for just such an occasion (not very sharp)
Ammo:N/A

How is that. He differs from the expert because he doesn't know how to survive this invasion. Instead he knows how the zombies think.
I have also changed the expert to the survivalist to widen the difference

Luckily I have seen a lot of zombie movies/read a lot. Sort of. So I do know how a zombie thinks (or doesn't think). Has anyone read the Zombie Survival Guide? I read a bunch of it, but it wasn't mine so I never finished.
Anyway, hopefully I get to find a sharpener eventually so I can start decapitating zombies with style... and geekiness.
Also, does my fatigue have to be so high?

Neighborhood Voyeur- Spending hours upon hours of his time skulking around his neighborhood, the Neighborhood Voyeur has learned how to effectively hide himself from sight, but his tendencies for lurking in the same spot have led him to tire easily.
Advantage: Sneaky

Supplies: Binoculars
Weapon: Pistol
Ammo: 1 clip
Health: 70

Homeless Guy: Having to scrape his living out of whatever scraps he can find nearby, the Homeless Guy has become an incredible scavenger, a skill that will serve him, and his companions well when the time comes to find food and weapons. Starting Locations: Dumpster
Supplies: Spare Trash

Your fatigue is high because you are a geek and don't get exercise. It will go down when you can rest though.

I can change it fatigue scales up as you get tired. Health scales down as you get hurt. These are all just starting numbers anyway. They just reflect the overall character of each person. such as an athlete is fine. a fanboy needs exercise, a fireman is tired after fighting fires. I will be increasing and decreasing as we go. They are just sort of a guideline to what your character can do. I don't want to see the fanboy being able to out run anything. at least not at first.

Everything and anything will change during the course of the story. Anyone is free to pick up any item. However, a geek would not be able to fire a gun very proficiently.
Your fatigue will just raise quicker than some others.
