Well of course it would work, and what is wrong with it going slower?
So that we eliminate meaningless posts that just fill up the RP, and allow people an easier time getting caught up and posting?
I really see no downsides here, aside from not allowing several active users to post pages upon pages of banter.

With the speed of the RP. I agree that the last event moved to quickly. I think this happened for a few reasons.
1. First and foremost, the anticipation. I can only speak for myself but I was very eager to get this thing off the ground (Pun intended). Once it was started it was hard to stop. I was even at work during the zombie attack and I kept going to the back so I could post again.
2. The story. Junction3 and I planned for the first mission to be centered around a zombie attack. The talisman was merely a reason to get us to the planet. Because of this, the story might have felt rushed since we landed, went through a city and retrieved the talisman before anyone could write anything. This might have incidentally set the tone of the event to be quick.
3. Communication. Lack of communication and understanding probably contributed to the confusing and quick nature of this event.
4. The nature of this RP. Junction and I are purposely trying to keep this RP action packed. I understand that not everyone will get a chance to participate in everything. Our aim is to accommodate both casual and frequent players. This means that the story must progress even if some people have not had a chance to post. This is not meant to discourage people, it is meant to keep people interested in the RP. Junction and I will be doing our best to keep things going and if you miss out on something, I guarantee that there will be another fun, exciting event coming soon.
I still think that this first week went very well. I still think there is a lot that we can improve on to make this RP even greater. Communication is vital in something like this where certain people may be gone for days without knowing what is going on. Junction and I will do our best to keep you guys in the loop with what is going on. Part of this is also to thoroughly read other people's posts. Interacting with each other only helps the story. If someone goes flying through the air, your character would notice it.
We would also like more cooperation from you guys in the form of sending us ideas on what you guys want to do. We just need to know your ideas so that we can help control the situation and the pace. For example, Archie added a T-Rex to the story with the intentions of him destroying our ship. I unfortunately did not know this and I wrote in that the people on our ship and the gang stopping us ran away to keep the story focused. Had we known about the plan and intentions, we could have written the story to reflect it. It was a great idea by Archie but we did not execute it correctly. We want and expect ideas from you guys, but to keep things structured, we are asking that you guys PM your ideas to us and we will take your ideas and incorporate them into the story. Junction's and my role in this RP is to keep things moving smoothly. Letting us use your idea and letting us add it to the story will help us with this.
As far as limiting posts, I am strongly against this. I don't think we need to limit posts, this only discourages people from posting all together. Instead, we just need to make sure that frequent posters are not taking the story too far. You can post 10x without ever moving the story forward. The dialogue on the ship is proof of that. Again, Mine and Junction's role is to keep this RP rolling. This is not to say other people can't advance the story, just that Junction and I should be the ones pushing us along. I also believe that with this first week ending, post will eventually slow down. I would love to keep the enthusiasm where it is but it is inevitable that things will slow down.
All in all, good week. We will take what we have learned from this first week and only make the RP better.
With communication in mind. The next stage for the story will be going to New Earth to collect our money. We will spend a day or two on New Earth reaping the benefits of our hard work and spending our money on a paradise planet.

I did not not suggest that you were the gang leader, somebody else did. I wrote in that Dorf was impressed with your skills and offered you a spot on the team. Where you want to take it from there is your call.

That's not a bad idea, but what I think would be better is giving out hand held communicators. That way we can stay in touch when we go our separate ways once we reach planet side.
I've got a question, are my long posts getting on anyone's nerves? I get started with an idea, and it just kind of runs. I'm a screenwriter, I can't help it. But if it bothers anyone, I'll work on shortening them down a bit.
Junction and I will plan out how to handle calling everyone back when we have another mission. More than likely we all have phones. Maybe built into our head space phones.

Hmm, you mean like the earpiece and microphones built into Batman's cowl? That's not a bad idea. I just don't like the idea of a clunky cellphone that far into the future. Or even a microcellphone, which would just get lost all the time, lol.
I'm figuring something small and thin, due to most of us already having helmets, and we'd want to use them with the helmets. Goggles wouldn't work for most of us, but if you happen to find a pair of goggles in the ship's armory, and fix the earpiece and microphone to that, then go for it.
Well, I've already got nightvision, thermalvision, and targeting built into my helmet. Plus right now, my character doesn't really care what other people are doing in the fight, as long as it doesn't get him killed.
Like I said, there is an armory on the ship, I'm sure you can find some goggles there.
Come on guys!! Somebody post something!! I don't want to double post, and I don't want Kayden to be cooped up in his room the whole time. Lets mingle fellas!
Post is in. It's a long one, but it has a lot of information in it. It also adds more time to kill for you guys. Anything you imagine in any city is in this city so anything is at your disposal.
The city would definately have a weapon shop. What I was saying, is you don't have to check with Scyber or I to see if the city has a shop or anything. If you think it should have a weapon shop, then it does. If you think it should have a bar, then it does. If you think it should have a place that you can sacrifice chickens, then it does. Two of them actually.

Yes!!! I've always wanted to see chickens sacrificed!!
I don't mean to be demanding posts from people, but I do want to know what's going on. Although we have a lot of frequent posters I've noticed that some people aren't or can't get in some posts. I know that we talked about the speed of the RP being too fast and all, which I agree with, but this is outside that, imo. Basically there are a few people that were posting and aren't now. I just was wondering what's up? Did you loose interest? Do you think it's still too fast? Do you think that we suck? Hopefully not the last one or at least just Scyber.

As far as te communication. Yes we have already used a PA system. I can't think of a reason why we wouldn't have coms from room to room.

Margaritaville
Hmmm, now all I gotta do is come up with a cool futuristic idea for the city.
Holo-whores!
Man, if that technology ever becomes available, I am SO making a strip club with that name.
And there I go... just after bitching about spam, I spam.
Oh well.
