for life% and defensive stats you should refer to an EHP calculator.
Although I would love if someone merges and EHP and DMG calculator in one.
I was thinking about it, but there are so many EHP tools out there already, it didn't seem like a project I should invest too much of my time on.
We'll see; I'm still eagerly waiting for them to release their API so values can just be extracted with the click of an Upload button to avoid the hassle of profile entry/saving. It's going to be a whole different ballpark then, and maybe then I'll be able to visit the thought of all-in-one tools.
I'm grateful so many people are checking it out, just keep in mind you may experience some small margins of error in regards to dual-wielding or using any weapons with +% damage bonuses. Regardless, I think you'll be able to discern whether or not A is better than B (unless you're one of those people who really micro their gear in the tens digits).
As of this very moment, I'm currently attempting to derive a good way to improve the formulas without having to subtract an arbitrarily chosen integer. I don't know if I'll succeed, but I'm going to try anyway =P
This gives me a different value than the blizzard calculator, is that normal?
I've documented that you will experience a margin of error in regards to dual wielding and weapons with +% damage bonuses.
Other than that, I can't help ya out without more information, the class you're playing, the kind of items you're using, etc.
Best bet for starters would be to confirm your data aligns with your character at the bottom damage summary. Tell me what is being displayed that differs from your character, and I might be able to give you a solution.
Well, unless it's with +% damage to weapons, in which case you will have to tolerate the difference for now, until I can find a formula fix to enhance my accuracy =)

Sorry, I thought it might've been standard. All the stats align.
I'm a witch doctor without Pierce the veil or any other passives that affect damage.
Crit is 12%, Crit damage is 125%. No IAS on gear.
1644 Intellect.
904.5 Damage on weapon, with a 46% Damage affix.
I understand what you said about the damage affix causing issues, but my impression is that the difference would be small.
Your damage calculator says 26669.83
In-game says 18270.80
If you want more details, you can add me. If that's just something to be fixed, that's fine too.
EDIT:
There is a slight disparity between the weapon dps.
By the way, I'm using a 2H Mace. In-game it's 904.7 while the calculator says 904.5.
I don't think that would make a big difference, but that's I'm just adding it in.
Hello,
first of all the tool looks pretty good.
for a weapon that has for example +200-400 Arcane Damage and +15 Maximum Damage, do I need to just add these numbers to the min/max damage values, or are these already factored into the damage range shown in the tooltip?
The bonus effects are already included, just put the boxed value like the tooltip and you'll be fine.
Can't access the site at all. Receiving an Error 137, name resolution failed. I'm using both google's and opendns's DNS service.
Sincerely sorry, I wasn't prepared to handle the sudden surge of traffic, right now (2:23 AM) the standalone html page should work for the damage calculator. The main site is currently down though, working on a fix =P
That's really weird, since your bow is very straightforward DPS and aligns with the low-end and high-end values. Since I don't know what the rest of your items look like, is there perhaps a neck or ring with +min - max damage somewhere that might have been overlooked?
Glad to be of service! I'm very approachable and will attempt my best to solve any discrepancies or confusions you might have as to what you should input. Allyrion from earlier in this thread added me through D3, and I was able to resolve his issue by inputting his data myself.
Main site is still down though, because this community's interest and love for me broke the server. But the calculator page works (for now, we'll see how it holds up during prime time).
You added the enchantress 3% atk speed buff, can you add the scoundrel 3% crit buff too? =)
It's actually in the beta version of the calculator's next revision. Unfortunately my main site is down right now, so I can't implement it... but don't worry, it's coming! Soon™
For now, you can just add 3 to the Critical chance % box above the enchantress checkbox, to achieve the same effect.
need to add elemental damage % increacse (tal rasha set bonuses for example)
Unfortunately, this calculator's original intent was for generic damage calculation comparisons. I don't have the data for Tal Rasha's bonuses yet, but I'll look into it.

you nailed it, its spot on now. quite interesting that 12-25 dmg = almost 5k dps
hmm i dont know much about how dps on a weapon is calculated but almost every weapon has elemental damage on it. 250-520 .. fire, Holy , arcane...damage for example. where do i input these numbers.
Don't sweat it! It should incorporated in the item, though I take no responsibilities for any rounding Blizzard decided to do along the way. Mouseover the (?) under the item categories, and just put the boxed value that appears as such on your items.
I was reading through here after testing and I have to say, it was only 97 damage off (.2 weapon dps, too low), but aside from that:
I read a comment about the lot of data you have to input, and I got an idea (stolen from wow talent calculators) Why not make the site generate a "code" consisting of all values that you can input to regenerate your profile?
Also thank you so much for making this, makes picking upgrades a lot easier!
I tested this with my Wizard and Monk and both values on the calculator are a little lower than what the game says. I've double checked everything and it comes up with the correct Weapon DPS, total Primary stat, etc., but the damage value is incorrect. My Wizard's damage in-game is 23277 and the calculator says 22989.99. My monk's in-game damage is 12470.06 and the calculator says 12375.54.
The values are close enough that it will work for figuring out upgrades and such, though, so it doesn't really matter a whole lot.
I've been playing around with it, and I gotta say its pretty awesome. Really fills a need when Blizzard decided not to show the stat changes while looking at stuff in the AH.
As to what Ozlito was talking to:
Anytime I use +min +max on a non-weap, the numbers go from absolutely perfect, to slightly out of whack. 2 +min +max items pushed the dps difference (between dmg calc & actual) to about 130dps (with the +15% dmg multiplier). My 2 slots used were Amulet & Ring 2, but its probably not limited to just those 2.
Also using a Wizard.

loads SUPER slow for me, and most end up not loading at all... guess you are hammered from being on the front page.
You'll get there.
Maybe.
I'm looking at alternatives solutions right now. Bear with me
