It's always the last stretch of any game (beta or full) that feels like it's taking forever. Especially if you follow the game in depth since it was announced...
At least for release we will actually have a date
For beta i feel like im being poked with a stick constantly
Well Blizzard is known for announcing their games' release dates like a couple of months before the actual release. So if beta is just 2 or 3 months long, they'll probably have to announce D3's release date during beta if they still want to release it at the end of the year. So yeah, at least you'll have beta to keep you busy till the release
Honestly the anticipation is a significant draw on healthy living for me.
It's hard to concentrate on project work, which means it takes longer and makes my schedule more hectic by closing the gaps around my job, which means I spend less time buying healthier groceries or completing necessary errands (I've bought sandwiches like every day this week, a habit that stretches my already tight budget).
I'm not particularly happy with this scenario, but it's hard to control. It's been like 11 years since D2, and I've been hunting down info on this game since... 2005?
Trying to ignore it and focus on day-to-day issues is like trying to ignore your long-lost brother coming home from his mission to mars. Where he discovered evidence of totally bitchin aliens. That are shaped like hot chicks. And have matter replicators that can make sandwiches exactly how you like. FROM SPACE.
It'll be a relief when D3 releases in more ways than one. After it's no longer this big mythical object from the future it will be easier to take in small doses.
Well, I've found out that I just spend too much time looking for the beta if I don't have anything better to do.
For instance, this week I decided to change my cell phone operator, so now I'm taking a huge time comparing fees and features from the different operators. Also, I'm looking for a new phone for a reasonable price. That takes a lot of time.
Oh, and of course, I spend some time doing my job and my master's dissertation.
Actually I imagine it would be worse for him for a couple reasons...
1) He was given a taste of it a few months ago... and trust me, a few hours with something like that is just enough to make you crave more.
2) For most of you, it's just something you want... for him, the success of his website will be strongly impacted by how promptly he notices it - if he's one of the first media sites with good footage of it, then the hits he gets will jump significantly.
And to a lesser extent... he doesn't have a choice - he has to play it. So not being able to is probably making him feel a bit like there's something he should be doing that he's not... which is a bad feeling
I think the hype machine is running out of steam. When the information coming out is stuff like what the items look like, it's like, okay, enough already. I know way more about Diablo 3 before it's release than I knew about Diablo 2 pre-release.
Yea I'm getting a bit tired of hyping myself, I check these forums all the time, stand up from my homework to check on my computer every few hours, plus now I'm posting here all the time. (I used to hide in the bushes.)
I watched a ton of streaming when F&F started, like an unhealthy amount. But I haven't watched a stream in a few days now.. I just want to playyyyyyyyyy.
I find it insanely hard when I'm not at work, on my motorcycle, or at the gym, to not look at this forum or tool around looking at D3 stuff instead of doing my homework. I'm a full time student, military veteran, personal trainer, motorcycle enthusiast, roommate of two steriod abusers who nerd it up just as much as I do, have a girlfriend(or two =X) and all I REALLY want to do is PLAY DIABLO.
It seems that everyone is starting to get irritated even just a little by the bread crumbs from blizzard. They know how to hype us for their games, but they also now how to push our buttons.
Post how your feeling about the current situation of the beta.
I'm quite fine, only a small number of people from this forum will get in anyways, so i don't really see my self getting the chance to play the beta.
I think the beta is going at a good pace so far, and i think that next week the public beta will start which means i will get to see the Force playthroughs of each class
I watched hours of streams last week and was constantly checking updates and was genuinely very excited. This week I haven't watched many streams at all, but I'm still refreshing my browser every hour or so... honestly it's getting very tiring. And most of the ridiculous threads aren't helping. I understand some people visit these forums and haven't been reading them constantly and want to ask questions, but holy poo, search button.
Am I irritated at the pace of the beta? No, not really. I'm glad they're working out the bugs in a logical sense. Just over-excited like the rest for a game that we've been waiting YEARS to come out. hah speaking of which, I remember when people thought it was going to come out 09-09-09. Almost 2 years ago
For the last three days, I have logged into my B.net account at least 1,000 times. I am honestly getting sick of doing it but do I really have a choice.
I just hope you don't use an authenticator like me, having to type those numbers every time you wanna log in is tiring.
They just announced this game too early in the development process. We've been waiting for too long. There have been months and months without any substantial updates (remember the facebook screenshots fiasco). Now it seems like it will still be many months before we even know a potential release date, and people are freaking out already over the minute possibility of being in a very limited beta. They should have just waited a year with the announcement, and then the hype could have been built up and fed way more consistently. To have to anticipate 3-4 years for something is just way too long in the short span of a human life.
I got tired as well. They have overdone it with the lack of fundamental information. They should at least reveal the release date. Some of you will claim that they may not even know the release date yet because the game is under development. Well I don't think so, they know but they won't tell and if they don't say something in Blizzcon either then it's damaging for them. I started playing Dragon Age II and it's a quite good game. Still anticipating!
The game is ready for release right now... there is no way in hell we as humans can some out with all the new technology we have come out with in the past 3+ years since Diablo III unveiling, yet this game is not out yet? Otherwise they unveiled the idea and really didn't start working on it until recently... SC2 got pumped out in no time... So unless something like all other acts than act 1 aren't finished with design, the game could be released right now... and just tweaked as necessary. What's the difference between "F&F" beta occurring, and the release of the game all together? Now you have millions playing instead of the few hundred, that's about it. Blizz will probably get much more feedback about content that needs fixed if they weren't shelling out beta key's to 12 year old kids all posting about a piece of loot not landing directly below their characters feet, rather it fell 2.5 centimeters to the LEFT OF "SKELLINGTON" KINGS FEET!!!! wtf.... I haven't seen one constructive beta bug post in a while... all I've seen is crap like I just mentioned and people with bad PC's not realizing their drivers aren't up to date...
edit - maybe I'm just bored and ranting... I still find it more entertaining to read this forum then play such a piece of shit like Starcraft or this watered down World of Scrubcraft. If WoW got reset to 1.0 version, I'd play till my eyes bled. Too bad I went to the gym @ 930 pm east and I'm wide awake still @ 5:55 am =( Diablo 2 is boring right now cause my crew already holds #1 spot on HCC useast =)

This is fucking ridiculous.
I still get chills from that vid. I watched that Blizzcon live on the internet and I can't even describe the feelings I had.
Been waiting the damn game for over 10 years.
[I agree with you 100%]
