I've been trying to opt in for the beta for some time now but every time I try to do so, it says that I "must have at least one full version of a Blizzard Entertainment game attached to this Battle.net account in order to set up your beta profile".
That might not sound like such a problem for you guys but to be rather blunt, I have no blizzard game at the moment, not even my old Diablo 2. I was thinking that I could just download one of the game clients but I don't want to go through such a long process without a confirmation that it will work.

Can anyone elaborate on this for me?
You need a Full Blizzard Game attached to your Account. This can be WoW, D2, S2, or SC.
Shouldent be that hard to understand. Buy a game or enter a cd key of your bought games to your account.
You cant opt in without a game so people cant abuse the system.
..... That was my problem in the first place, I don't have a game currently and I don't exactly want to waste my cash on a game I most likely won't play. I mean, I understand the concept, its the fact that I can't meet that requirement the way it presents it.

Well what do you want us to do then? You can't download a game client, You need an working, unique cd key attached to your account.
7 years ago i bought WC3. i never retreat that purchase although my parents were like: "DUM KID STUDY PHYSICS INSTEAD OF WASTING UR TIME WITH GAMES!?"-thx ol but no thx oh the fruit of my labor (i didnt have a job back then and i had to save a full week of my lunch moneh)
this point i am so hapy i will have a "chance" to hit the beta (<0.1% chance i get in? teeeheee)
Paint blank, if you don't own older Blizzard games, why would they want you in the beta? Why do you deserve to be in the beta? Why are you screwed?
Excuse my assumptions, but I'm guessing you're a pretty young kid, probably don't have much pc gaming experience...
-Don't own any blizz games
-Aren't smart enough to go to a store and buy Diablo 2 or WC3 for $5-$10
Blizz doesn't *want* you in the beta because you're looking for a game to play, not to be a functioning member of the beta process. You don't have any way of showing them that you're a "useful" member of a beta. Keep in mind their only benchmark is your ownership and history with them. That's why you see people that have bnet accounts from D2 days, with long purchase histories in several of their franchises, getting alpha/beta/exclusive invites. It's a tiny little reward for being a loyal customer.
