The admins , webmaster , whoever that has been to blizzcon and got to play diablo 3 ( Kicks himself ) please , translate your excitment into words and tell us , how good was it and what had you worried about.
just got home. Long but great weekend at Blizzcon. I got to play d3 demo as every class multiple times. Yes it feels like D2! similar to d1 in certain aspects as well. They did an excellent job from what i can see so far. The lore seems to be implemented in great detail through the use of tombs like the orig d1 so that is a plus!
The game mechanics are smooth and as always easy to learn and pick up. Speaking to most people who played it i learned that the witchdoctor seemed the most fun. He was my fave as well. I am def sad i have to wait a long long time before i get to touch d3 again but at last my thirst is quenched(for the most part) better reviews tomorrow as of now im hitting the sack
good. i am glad that people who actually got to play the game are being able to throw their 2 cents in. now go to battle.net forums and tell them that the auto stats dont matter as much as they think they do

did you try the plague of toads on the mongouls? does it do anything or is it the exact same (desease damage) as locust swarm? does using firebats on mongrould add any MORE damage than a skull of flame? what about if you try it with a rune in it?

(this build was before D3 launched... looking back on it now - i had no idea what i was doing)

Im going to assume you understand the new rune system, before i answer the question. Sadly the only char who could equip runes to skills was the newly announced Wizard Class. The 2 other class's gave an error when trying to assign runes. Though in the gameplay video when they were discussing runes at the panel they showed the WD using his flaming skull with a minor rune of multistrike in there. His flaming skull would hit the ground and bounce a few times befor stopping, Each with its own explosion. No clue if with each consecetive bounce if the skill gained dmg or lost dmg or remained the same. (couldnt test since runes wernt available for use by barb and WD in demo)
Regarding the mongouls(zombie dog question). Though i am not 100% certain it looked like the "dogs" would take on the same appearance and do the same amount of dmg and type of dmg regardless if i hit them with Plague of toads or locust. The game is somewhat "chaotic" in a good way to where i can see why they only need 4 players max. If i was using locust on my dogs then switching over to flaming skulls it was hard not to accidently not hit the dogs since they were up in the fray of battle and melee. I mostly stuck with them being on fire since it was easier.
couple more points:
Fire bats is an awesome spell!. you hold down allocated key for it and bats on fire literally pour out by the thousands. The Energy(mana) cost on it were small so i could sit and spam it on bigger baddies for quite some time. though not guaranteed it looked like it might interrupt their attacks. and the spell just looks amazing!
Totem spider skill was boring on the WD. You place a totem dead center in rom and spiders crawl out of it byt the hundreds. It just was not a fun spell. Maybe with power ups and the right rune comboniation it can do better.
Sacrifice was a great skill. You literally Blew up your dog minions(thing corpse explosion but bigger)
Hey silver , when you were playing ( First Question ) , How much time you had and did anyone around you was upset over the game in anyway shape or form.
the demo took about 20-25 min to get through. and that was just the right amount of time if you only stopped to add skills and compare items. IMO the only thing people were pissed about was those who were getting kicked off before the could reach the skelton king(and beat him) My first time through we had enough time to beat him. the 2nd time through i went much slower and read into the skills and the items and explored every corner. They came to kick my group off them about half way through the demo. We flashed our press badges and they let us stay to beat it.
