I would suggest a trading + auctioning AH. Trading in that you can put your item you want to trade up and then write what you want in exchange. Then people can put items up for trade with your item and you can choose who you want to trade with.
AH - I never played WoW, so I have no idea how that works, but I liked the item per item trade as it was in Diablo II. Although that could use some improvements.
Account Bank - hell yeah. I pretty sure blizzard will do something about this, or they better.... (shakes fist)
Farming for items - I could care less how other people choose to play the game. If they just wanna kill certain bosses over and over again, so be it. As long as D3 is a item oriented game, there will always be farming.
Rushing - Again, could care less if other people dont' want to quest, but as long as they implement some sort of minimum level to get into the next difficulty (no more glitch rushing either). So no more of that lvl 1 shit in hell.

Yea that'd be nice. I used to always hit a certain level before moving onto the next act.
A system where after each level we gain in a day we get an x% less XP during the next level, capping at 5% XP until 24 hours have passed since your last level up.
Example given:
0 levels gained today = 100% of normal XP.
2 levels gained today = 80% of normal XP.
4 levels gained today = 50% of normal XP.
5 levels gained today = 25% of normal XP.
6 > levels gained today = 5% of normal XP.
Explain to me how this would prevent rushing, sounds like it would just reduce leveling and if leveling is fast as is diablo 2, this would just prevent people from playing the game. (E.G. Having fun until level 6 but than you realize for some reason, you're getting practically any experience)

I like this, to an extent. My problem with it in the lower levels. Maybe don't have it kick in until you've reached lvl 20(assuming you lvl at the same speed as in D2)? That way it doesn't take you 2-3 days to beat the first act. I'm also trying to come up with a better formula than what you have.
The other thing, You should cut it by act's completed and difficulties completed, also. That encourages people to take breaks at logical stopping points.
New XP rate per level =
New EXP Rate = Current XP rate * .88 (12% reduced each level)
THEN, cut it by 25% for every act completely, and 50% for every difficulty completed.
Eaxmple, you leveled up 3 times in 6 hours, and beat the act you are on:
3rd level = 68.1
68.1 * .75 = 51%
Now, this is really complex. So, just have a little box that says at what speed you are currently lvling up at, on the character sheet. And When you hit LVL 20, and beat an act, have Cain(or someone) explain simply : "You should rest, you won't gain experience as fast as you would if you rest"
Fun. I love algebra. I figure, the more complex the numbers like this are, the harder it will be for people to exploit the game.
Sounds better, but I think only having the EXP go down with the completion of acts and difficulties and having a really complex formula for EXP based on the level of the characters in the game (If there's a higher level in the game, they gain a little more EXP but everyone else's EXP is reduced alot), the amount of contribution (Damage, Monsters, Damage Taken, HP Healed, Hits Taken, and votes from people that can be view by everyone in the party), and what act and difficulty you're in (Certain level ranges would gain more experience in one place than another). Complicated, but I think this would be optimal.
Why go through all that trouble, when this idea makes so much more sense:

Way to prevent rushing: Have it like pre-lod. If some member in party is 5 levels or higher than you, you gain almost no experience, it worked fine then. People with around same levels played together.
I would like the idea of gold being worth alot more
NO RUSHING!!! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO (NO MULES NO NO NO NO NO)

Hey, if we went the other way, with the amount of experience you get going down with level ups, that'd just prevent just from leveling as well. But with my system you pretty much have to kill everything for experience with help from people around your level so there's no point of "rushing". And you can't have a higher level in your party to help you get a higher level so you have to earn your level.
A system where after each level we gain in a day we get an x% less XP during the next level, capping at 5% XP until 24 hours have passed since your last level up.

0 levels gained today = 100% of normal XP.

6 > levels gained today = 5% of normal XP.
Thats a terrible Idea
... to prevent rushing
1. no teleport
2. level requirements to pass on to next acts
3. no xp 'hotspots' like sanct or trist
4. you get more xp for the monsters you kill vs monsters other kill
to prevent boss farming
1. no teleport
2. no waypoint close to boss that can 'respawn' every new game you make
Perhaps each boss could have a dungeon that you can't just zip right through, maybe a set of little puzzles for every boss dungeon
Think about it, who farmed duriel?? NO ONE
there was that annoying 7 tombs bullshit so that everytime you try to kill duriel after the first time, you have to guess (unless you have maphack ;))
To give gold value
1. people argue that the reason gold is worthless in diablo 2 is the drop rates
...bullshit
you could have 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,00 gold BUT WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH IT?
Therefore the primary problem is having things that gold can buy
In d2 you can gamble worthless shit or buy magic items(yippidy skippidy)
oh and lets not forget stocking up on potions and scrolls
In d3 you must be able to buy really good items from npcs, items that are desireable
2. This is where drop rates come in
-Not too much, not too little
-good money sink
3. Auction house
If you can only trade gold for items and vice versa, gold will gain value
Its just like currency in the US, 10,000 pieces of smelly green paper can buy you a car
with gold as the only currency to trade in AH AND GOOD DROP RATES, the market will easily pick up and people will be collecting gold and trading it around, a common price will set and BOOM BATTA BOOM you hot currency
First of all, no grinding in a diablo game? Hell, no grinding in a game where you have levels and loot? Thats just stupid. Plain and simple.
A AH? Yeah, not going to happen. A AH would require all games be linked and all kinds of technical crap, likely made alot harder because you can create and name your own games. Besides, unlike some games, do you know how hard it would be in a Diablo game to find a item on the ah? When they have so many randomized elements where a weapon might have 3 or more, depending on the new system, words tacked onto its name? It would be a mess.
As for rushing. Why does anyone even care? At first, no one can be rushed cause no one is of a high level. After that, what does it matter if someone rushes someone else? It doesn't affect you. Some people might want to get to a certain, favorite stage. Or might want to hurriedly get to the hardest difficulty because the earlier ones are easy but time consuming for them?
Maybe its just someone who wants to play with some friends but they have a limited playtime each week, and his friends have, say, a 50 level lead on him, so they help him catch up. Rushing is fine, you can't really remove it and it doesn't hurt a damn thing.
An AH can easily work with diablo3, who said it has to be just like WoW
Do you really want to see more spammed games in the game list of trading?
2/3 or more of all game in d2 were trading, thats rediculous to create a whole server just to trade one item
Rushing just takes away from a game, make this game legit please blizzard, sure its always fun to have a game where you can skip the whole thing and just cheat and this and that but in a high quailty game like d3 rushing should be avoided
If I remember there was also a trade channel in battlenet. Still was the spam in games. If theres a AH, still going to be spam. Infact, I bet if theres a damn AH people will join a game and spam text about this 'awesome item' they have up and leave the game to find another. Yeah, your idea fixes spam. . oh wait, no, it makes it more in your face.
Rushing does not take away from the game either, or make it 'unlegit'. Its not cheating to rush. I gave some very valid reasons why Rushing is acceptable. It doesn't detract from /your/ enjoyment of the game. Go away little Nazi Gamer, not everyone /has/ to play the game like you for anyone to enjoy it.
wth is grinding?
hell i hope they banned rush
they could make some tool with whick you can register your name on a game, and that game will start when it is full of level 1 chars
edit: ok, grinding is mfing
